Read about this place online a few years ago and it really does live up to its reputation. Just a fantastic and unique little park. An unforgettable little corner of Scarborough that is so well kept and looked after. An absolute hidden gem of a little area. Please visit if you are ever in the area

Nice little Council ran car park, although it gets very busy in the Summer and when events are on. The pier itself is brilliant, especially now the lighthouse is illuminated at night. It's a great place to sit and watch boats come in and out of the Harbour whether or not you are in your car or sat on a bench nearby.

This car park is actually not the park safe car park like a lot of the locals who apparently know the area well claim it to be, this is the car park above the motorhome showroom down the road from there on Chapel Street. It was free parking during our visit (don't know why, maybe because bank holiday Monday) and was in a superb location. Would have given 5 stars except I can imagine the stair wells feeling rather intimidating on a night or during quiet dark times and more should be done to make them feel more secure. However, this is a Council car park and the current Government have absolutely decimated Council funding in recent years so what do you expect? Would park here again.

Brilliant statue which is a very good way of highlighting the link which Stan Laurel had with Bishop Auckland. The plaque on the wall opposite explains the connection and describes how there was once a Theatre on that site where Stan's Dad once worked and where Stan himself had the pleasure of stepping into many times during his childhood. I think it's just lovely seeing Stan Laurel in any format to be honest, as I think that him and Ollie were amazing.

Mega busy Chippy but everything ran like clockwork and was well organised, we didn't have to wait too long. Food was hot and portion sizes were very good. The chips needed more seasoning and I think that they were a bit tight on the salt and vinegar but overall it was very good.
