I came in with very high expectations and I have to say a lot of details are wonderfully polished and much thought and creativity went into the final product.
At the end of the day, I think it’s important to keep in mind that central more of an art form and an experience than a meal.

Went for a late lunch and was so delicious. The anticuchos were delicious and the atmosphere was so nice. The view is amazing + they have wifi. Beware if you’re allergic there are cats on the property, they are harmless and don’t bother you. One thing I would say is they need a few more waiters, it was hard to track ours down for the check.
Had the alpaca and the trout. Trout was very good with excellent mashed potatoes. Alpaca was so-so.

It’s with good reason that Central is right at the top of the worlds best dining experiences. This was like being in a science lab for food, the room is all beautiful clean modernist lines and the open kitchen is great to watch. The food is interesting, different, and really does feel like a trip through Peru. Everything is well explained and you even get a little book afterwards. This is the kind of place I will remember for a long time.

To begin with, the service was fine. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable. However, this was the only aspect of our dining experience that met expectations.
The food was a complete disaster. One particularly egregious issue was a small lobster course in our larger meal. We were served what we assumed to be properly cooked lobster, only to discover later through photos and reviews that it was meant to be fully cooked. What we received was essentially raw, a dangerous oversight that is absolutely inexcusable for any restaurant, let alone one of Central’s supposed caliber.
This wasn’t just a culinary misstep; it was a serious health hazard. I ended up with food poisoning, had to see a doctor, and missed out on my last days in Peru. Trusting a renowned establishment to deliver safe, properly cooked food should be a given, but Central failed spectacularly. Serving undercooked seafood is not just disappointing; it’s negligent.
To make matters worse, when we tried to contact the restaurant to address the issue, they refused to accept any accountability. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable and added insult to injury.

Excellently made food. It’s definitely worth the money! You can taste the effort put into each dish! We had the tasting menu which served 15 different kinds of food. The portion was small for each but it’s very filling!
Excellent food and service. Friendly staff. Since it is a small operation, you have to be patient and enjoy your wine or appetizer, till the main dish gets ready. It's not a quick serve and every dish is prepared after it's ordered.

I love that the atmosphere at Maido is relaxed and feels like a local comfortable spot, with elevated service and food. People were dressed casually. When you enter, and come up the circular staircase to the dining room, the staff echoes a cry of "Maido" to announce your presence and greet you.
The food was delicious and a great reflection of both the nikkei influence and Peruvian history and flora. Many dishes and cocktails included ingredients sourced from the rainforest.
Some of the more surprising dishes were the mushroom ice cream and the trout with Amarillo powder and the Amazonian zigzag.
If I lived in Lima I would definitely come back to this place as often as I could! But for now, will take the memories!!

Let me tell you... anything less than 5 stars is crazy. This was THE best meal I had in Lima. Every dish hit me somewhere deep, and the decor was unbelievable. Like eating inside of an ecosystem. The conch with pea soup was an interesting combo... 40 out of 10. So refreshing and flavorful. The fish was good, not amazing, but good. I'd probably order a different main just to be able to try something else. The dessert was my favorite part. You don't find copuazu in many places, so I felt a personal connection to the dish. Savored every bite. If I had to recommend 1 restaurant in Lima, this would be it.

Very overpriced for what you get. Tasting menu plus wine pairing cost an eye opening $460 per person. Nothing tasted bad but no dishes wowed me either. For almost a $1000 dinner for two I expected to be blown away. Very over priced and over rated. I don’t feel like I got my moneys worth here and I do not recommend Mayta. The world’s 50 best restaurant list seems like it’s really just paid advertising.

Best restaurant in my life, we walked in at 3:30PM without reservation. Luckily they had a spot for two at the sushi bar between lunch and dinner.

Words can not describe how much I enjoyed my meal here. I am so appreciative to have experienced the Central concept and the time and energy that has gone into making this such a wonderful place - from each bowl, plate, fork, and spoon - to the wonderful knowledge derived from each and every person working there. Every question I had was answered confidently and without hesitation. The staff and food were both phenomenal, and everyone made my time there feel so special. Do yourself a favor and go and enjoy every moment!

An incredible dining experience!!!! We enjoyed the tasting menu which is themed around ingredients and foods from throughout Peru, but understand al a carte menu is also offered.
The plating/presentation was outstanding - vibrant colors, use of dimension, and aromas. Each course let you play with your food in inventive and elegant ways, keeping it a true experience and not just a meal. But most importantly, everything tasted great! Every dish was well balanced with fantastic variety - a great mix of textures and exotic flavors throughout. We absolutely loved the food!
While I’m a novice wine drinker, the wine pairing was great and complimented each course. That said - the non-alcoholic pairing that my wife ordered and let me sample was AMAZING! Incredibly creative and further highlighted the unique ingredients on the plate.
The staff was very nice and attentive. The sommelier gave a fantastic description of each beverage pairing - both wine and non-alcoholic. We could certainly tell that there was an intent to be very coordinated and to simultaneously deliver and remove each course which they hit on in most cases.

I’m only mad i didn’t know about this spot sooner! We came here on our last day in Lima and wow it was so fantastic. An amazing dinner right on the cliff where you can kind of overlook the sea. Everything we ordered was amazing, the limo saltado, fish, octopus. One of my highlights in Lima, for sure!

We enjoyed the full tasting menu and each dish was better than the last. The layers of flavor is each bite were amazing, and the staff were extremely friendly and professional!
If you’re considering dining at El Mercado, let me assure you—it’s a decision you won’t regret. The food here is outstanding: fresh, flavorful, and well-priced. The staff provides top-notch service, and while not everyone may speak English, they ensure you feel welcome and comfortable. The ambiance is wonderful, making it one of the top dining spots in Lima.
A once in a lifetime dining experience. I had the vegetarian menu and my husband had their regular menu. We both enjoyed tasting the different courses. Some of the courses were better than others (ads to be expected), but the experience, explanations, and presentation were all incredible. The service is world class and the staff made us feel very welcome. We dined a couple days before my birthday, so they even brought us an extra dessert to celebrate. The cocktails I ordered were also excellent and well balanced.
It’s hard to compete with the best restaurants in Lima but El Mercado surely deserves a place among these. Perfect to try out fresh fish and all kind of ceviche. Make sure to also try the dishes of the day. Excellent service and honest prices. We also ordered their homemade churros.

Amazing food. One of the best we had in Peru (we had a chicken soup and a hamburger). The drawback was that the food serving took around 1 h, but I understand they had some problems with a 'difficult customer'. All in all the restaurant offered us a free dessert as an excuse but we politely declined as the portions were very large.
We tried 4 starters, 4 mains and 2 desserts. A few dishes were overly sweet but not inedible. We really enjoyed the bread& butter, onion tart and all langoustine dishes. Guinea pig and the pasta were not nice. We thought desserts were disappointing. Mayta ferment their own Pisco and the cocktails are fantastic. A la carte is reasonably priced and I’d recommend this option for groups of three or more people.
Nice environment and spotless service. The two starters were perfect, beautiful presentation and rich flavor. The main course which was recommended by the waiter was a little bit disappointing: the fish doesn’t have much flavor though the sauce was not bad and the fish was not cooked enough inside, it wasn’t soft and needed effort to cut it. I will still give it a try next time for the duck.

Based on the good reviews we choose this restaurant. Not sure what happened this day but we had to wait for almost an hour for our drinks an another hour for the first food. Starters and main courses served at the same time but only for two people, half of our order apparently disappeared between the waitress and the cook. Only respond from the personnel was that they were sorry and the cook was very busy. Interesting comment as only 2 tables were taken.
I had a wonderful lunch experience at Mayta. Exquisite service and stunning food. The sommelier helped me to pick excellent wines and the waitress was very attentive. I absolutely can recommend the place.
We arrived here for the sunset which is really pretty if you get a table on the terrace above or one below in the main are near the cliff (which most of them are). The service was spectacular, and the food amazing (and at a very good price). It is very relaxed atmosphere. The octopus on the bbq was the best I have ever eaten, and the parmasen clams delicious. I would highly recommend this place, and I am looking forward to going back.
The food - appetizers were so-so and difficult to eat. The dessert was the same. However, the main dish was WOW; I loved it. 😍 Some of the staff, particularly one lady, were not polite and didn't take their job seriously.

Food was incredible and so was the service. Ceviche is incredible and the rice with seafood was the best fried rice I’ve ever had. Service and vibe was so much fun. You must try the cinnamon ice cream with the picadores.

Je suis venue avec mon compagnon pendant nos vacances au Pérou au mois de Mars et nous avons pris le menu dégustation « Mundo Mater » de 14 plats avec accompagnement des vins d’Amerique Latine. L’expérience a été très agréable du début jusqu’à la fin, le restaurant a une décoration très épurée et le service est surtout parfait (des serveurs très agréables avec des explications en anglais compréhensibles).
Les plats d’un point de vu gustatif ont été très bien réfléchis, certains ingrédients sont présentés en version mousse mais tout en gardant le goût du produit malgré les assaisonnements. Petit conseil : pensez bien à ne pas manger avant votre passage car après 14 plats (ou même 12) on arrivait plus à voir la fin 😁
Dans le global l’expérience est superbe, ils nous ont même aidé à commander un taxi car nous n’avions pas de réseau à Lima.

My recent visit to Central, acclaimed as one of the world's top dining destinations, was filled with anticipation and intrigue. The ambiance of Central is truly enchanting, complemented by exemplary service and a detailed narrative about the origins of each ingredient, which I found both informative and engaging. Upon arrival, we were promptly seated and introduced to an innovative menu concept based on elevation and the passage of time, a unique approach that piqued my interest. The dishes we experienced were delicious, and the service was flawless, attentive without being intrusive, which added to the overall exceptional dining experience. However, despite these high points, I find myself hesitating to give Central a perfect rating. The reason lies in the value proposition; the total cost of our meal came to $1,000+ USD for my wife and me, a price point that, in my personal opinion, didn't fully match the overall experience. This has led me to the conclusion that, while Central is undoubtedly a must-visit for aficionados of exotic and high-quality cuisine, I might not find myself returning. The culinary journey at Central is undeniably of the highest quality, but it may not resonate with everyone's palate or perceived value. For those with a penchant for the exotic and a desire to explore the pinnacle of culinary craftsmanship, Central will undoubtedly be a delight. However, for me, it was a one-time experience to satisfy my curiosity, albeit a memorable one.
Great restaurant, food is delicious, service is great, environment and all settings are amazing. We went for a late lunch, ordered skillets duck, perfectly cooked! Fish is soft and tender. The desert cocoa is super enjoyable, layers of different chocolate flavors and textures. Don’t skip the starter bread with cheese! Overall great experience.
Great service, great view. Picarones were outstanding, so we stayed for the seafood and grill. Our most memorable meal in Lima so far. The sauces made the meal.

The fusion of flavours that melted in your mouth were unreal. The drinks were delicious. Presentation of food and drinks was 10/10. We did the a la carte menu and paid around 500 soles for two people - 2 main dishes, 2 beverages and 1 dessert. We also received a complimentary appetizer.
The food was amazing, both steaks and sides. The fresh fish 🐟 done to perfection and overall, one of the best tasting menu. 💗 I've had. Service on point. View and atmosphere were great, but as this was a business dinner, it could have been just a bit quieter. Definitely recommend.😋🤩

Expérience incroyable ! Richesse et diversité des produits à couper le souffle, créativité et originalité des plats.. Le service est impeccable et l'accord que nous avons prix avec le vin était surprenant et parfait. Petit bémol sur la présentation du vin ou nous aurions peux être voulu avoir plus d'explication et d'histoire autour des sélections choisis.

The restaurant offers some stunning views, especially at sunset. Even on a Monday lunchtime it was pretty busy. The service was good. My Aji de Gallina was suitably thick, a good blend of gentle spice and comforting creaminess served on potatoes with a side of rice. A good example of the dish and the price, for this kind of restaurant, was not eye watering.
Hands down the BEST restaurant we’ve had the pleasure to experience in Lima. We went to try it during our family vacation (with our 1 year old) and were so impressed with the food and service from Daniel, that we decided to go back before our trip was over.

I was really surprised to find this place empty on a Wednesday night. Such amazing food and friendly staff at a reasonable price. I had the pisco sour and the cordon blu chicken. I'll definitely be returning.
We were seated pretty fast after arriving around 12:30 with no reservation. The restaurant is packed and the ambiance reminds me of restaurant in LA. Food is well-balanced. They have English speaking servers. 10% tips are automatically added to your bill.
This one of the hidden gems in Peru. We just stumbled upon this restaurant and were very impressed with the service, quality and price. This restaurant doesn't have touters annoying passersby, they don't need them. They are not competing with the balance of restaurants in Machu Picchu they are above them.
Amazingly thier prices are the same as the rank and file. with meals that just can't be ranked in the same category.

We had to come here twice! Managed to do a drop in and sit at the bar both times. Busy vibes, but the food and service still top notch. Obsessed with the tuna tacos, scallops and the prawn dishes. Well all of the dishes we had were wonderful.
The food was present nicely, however it was flavorless. The chica morada was watery, and the pancake dessert was cold and stale. Price wise aguas calientes restaurants are pretty pricey.
It was as good as expected. We had the sea urchin cerviche and grilled octopus with prawns and scallops. Both were fantastic. Definitely worth a visit.
The place is really nice, the food it's really good but the service was kinda lame. It took long to get to order the server didn't even pay any attention to us. But overall everything else was good
Amazing food, amazing service. Efrain was our server and he was great, very knowledgeable about the menu and was able to give good recommendations, and he also gave us recommendations for things to do in Cusco. Highly recommend this place !
I was recommended this place by a friend,local, and couldn’t have been happier. My waiter was lovely, the atmosphere was relaxed and the grilled octopus was incredible.

Addition un peu salée ; pas d’étonnant vu la renommée du lieu.

Das Essen war grundsätzlich ganz gut, aber das Ambiente war miserabel. Der Möchtegern DJ versuchte das Rauschen des Flusses um jeden Preis zu übertönen, es war unglaublich laut und wir versuchten so schnell wie möglich das Lokal wieder zu verlassen. Der Kellner war sehr bemüht. Schade!

Daniel hat uns wunderbar beraten und so hatten wir beide das Menú de Casa für 35 Soles. Alle drei Gänge waren sehr hübsch angerichtet und super lecker. Man sollte sich also nicht von den eher stolzen Preisen der anderen Speisen abschrecken lassen.
Ya saben ellos porqué les pongo solo una estrella, si hubiese menos - 5 le doy esa calificación. Igual los mejores éxitos y realmente que Dios Los Bendiga!!
Fui a cenar a las 20:30 hs y para mi sorpresa no había nadie más ocupando alguna mesa, pedimos platos elaborados y a los 5 min los teníamos servidos con temperatura de recalentados de microondas y para colmo mi plato Muy Salado
Haut lieu de la cuisine péruvienne moderne qui est tout à fait à la hauteur de sa réputation ! Chaque plat est une proposition tout à fait nouvelle et le menu dégustation est un voyage à travers le Pérou. Sans conteste une des meilleures tables à laquelle j'ai mangé.
Cuisine originale (peut être un peu trop pour des palais français). Les serveurs parlent anglais mais nous ne comprenons pas toujours ce que nous mangeons. Nous avons été déçu que le chef vienne apporter les plats ou saluer la plupart des tables mais pas la nôtre, et le serveur m’avait dit qu’ils m’enverraient le menu du repas végétarien que j’ai pris mais je n’ai toujours rien reçu.
Un vrai voyage gastronomique , des goûts et des couleurs inconnues , mérite vraiment le détour peut être pas le voyage . Dommage de ne pas présenter les légumes inconnus pendant leur dégustation , dommage de présenter un des désert appelé la " montagne" dans un bol... dommage après avoir dégusté les entrées avec les doigts , de ne pas proposer des serviettes chaudes pour se rincer .

A classic in Miraflores, very well known among locals. Only the best ingredients, no fuzz, good servings and amazing taste.
Endroit tout simplement sublime. Décor, bouffe, service, tout est sensationnel. Une surprise à tous les détours.
