I attended SJV as a student in the 90's. There was way to much hypocrisy. When the first priest died of AIDS, we were told by the Rector to lie (especially to the nuns) as to the cause of his death! (Now that Rector is a Bishop). Way too much booze, cigarettes and pot. What a pleasant weekend hallway aroma.

There was way to much abuse (physical, spiritual, sexual, emotional & psychological) with NO accountability! Since I also worked for the Archdiocesan Communications Office with an office at the Chancery, I was able to see and hear about the lies, cover-ups, mockery and hidden secrets first hand. So far, one of the priests/students involved in my abuse has died and another left the priesthood. While another was made a Bishop, other priests involved have just been transferred to different churches. God love Catholic Church.

My faith and devotion was way stronger before going into the seminary. SJV is NOT for Me!
