Definitely a must see in Naples. A beautifully ornamented church.
A beautiful Basilica and a must see. Amazing ceiling and statues. Free to enter, but they encourage a donation to visit. Worth seeing when visiting Naples.
The basilica has a facade designed by Arcangelo Guglielmelli who managed to incorporate into the new project the only two Corinthian columns, approximately 11 m high and dating back to the ancient temple of the Dioscuri of Naples, which remained standing following the earthquake of 1688. They were so leave them at the sides of the main entrance. Even further on the edges of the main façade there are statues depicting Saints Peter (on the left) and Paul (on the right), both by Andrea Falcone from 1671, located within two niches.
Golden ceiling inside the church is magnificent. The church is really beautiful from the ceiling, the wall, the floor, and all decorations.
The church is in the middle of the town. It is easy to find. The church entrance is after 20-30 steps, so you can get a good view of the busy town.
