The Notre-Dame Cathedral, located in the heart of Paris, France, is one of the most famous landmarks in the world. Built in the French Gothic architectural style, construction of the cathedral began in the 12th century and was completed in the 14th century. Notre-Dame is renowned for its stunning facade, intricate sculptures, and iconic flying buttresses. The cathedral's interior features beautiful stained glass windows, towering ceilings, and ornate decorations.

Tragically, Notre-Dame suffered a devastating fire in April 2019, causing significant damage to its roof and spire. However, extensive restoration efforts have been underway to rebuild and restore this iconic monument to its former glory. Despite the damage, Notre-Dame remains a symbol of Parisian and French culture, attracting millions of visitors each year who come to admire its beauty, history, and architectural significance.

A historically significant building. However, there are much more aesthetic historical buildings in France. Since there were renovations when I went, I couldn't examine it much. If you have been to Paris, it would of course be nice to visit this place too.

Even though the Cathedral was closed, due to the work of restoration, still there are different displays all around the church that show you the inside as well as detailing the different works necessary to bring the cathedral to its original glory. The Cathedral looks really beautiful also from the outside and even though it is temporarily closed still there are a lot of people who visit it, just to get a glimpse of it.

Visited here at the weekend. And whilst it is still closed there's a lot of information via the app and on the wall graphics.
It's great to see the new spire and I believe that a free exhibition is opening soon to explain a lot more about the restoration work after the fire.

Awe inspiring cathedral still under restoration & not open. There is a viewing stand in the courtyard to watch the progress & a storyboard running the full length of the fence that explains how restoration is being done. Even though we didn’t get to go in, just seeing the cathedral & witnessing the restoration is worth the visit.

While it was closed at the time due to the reconstruction work it's still an impressive site. At present there are various displays on the surrounding fences detailing the history and work taking place to restore the Cathedral to its former magnificence.

To one side there is a large stepped platform where you can climb up to take a photo or simply sit and enjoy the view.
