This is a must attraction you need to go while you are in Yogyakarta. Many times I visited this area and would not bored, though in my city there is also an attraction like this and I seldom visited it 🤣
Many places for food and beverages but mostly people just want to feel the city atmosphere here. The pedestrian quite wide and enjoyable to walk.

This is the kind of place I like to visit. Very lively, lots of food vendors. There were also lots of vendors selling various snacks, knick knacks, foot massages, even clothing. There was live music there as well which was very enjoyable. Lots of horse-drawn carts and becaks (motorcycle carriages) were available for hire to do short tours. The atmosphere was great. One note I will add. You have to be a little vigilant when visiting places like these. I have heard a story from a friend who is Indonesian who came across a food vendor trying to rip her off. This same story I have read elsewhere as well. You must ask the price before ordering. A Canadian friend of mine who's Caucasian who was here recently wanted to hire a horse-drawn cart and the operator inflated the price for him. I'm of Asian descent and I got a better price. Nonetheless, we enjoyed ourselves walking up and down this street and our rides on the horse-drawn cart and becaks.
Will recommend to stay in Malioboro if you’re looking for vacation or work. The city fill with foods and friendly locals.
