Beautiful location. Unusual rock formation which is quite large and impressive. You're looking at a 2.5-3 mile hike up there from the A57 Snake Pass, a short distance before you reach Ladybower.
The path Up is across the road from the parking layby. It's a steady and moderate walk up until you reach a junction with views over Derwent reservoir. You turn right and head North up the steep path. This is the steepest part of the climb but it's not too difficult if you are of average fitness for your age. If you don't hike or exercise often it's going to be a challenge. But it's a short ISH steep climb, then the formation comes into view. You're unlikely to get lost as it's two paths up, as described above. The same in reverse when you want to come back down if you want to keep it simple. There is a route to take you down to Ladybower reservoir if you wanted to go that route back.
The views from up there are just stunning, with views across to Lose Hill, Back Tor (on the Great Ridge) and Mam Tor. Then looking North, views to White Tor which is about 3/4 of a mile further on.
Views looking East towards Sheffield. It's a great spot. It is often windy up there so take something warm to put on if you're going to sit for a picnic for a bit up there as you'll quickly cool off.
I've done it twice now and I love it. I'll be back again soon but may take the route up from Lady bower and make it a circular.
