We ordered Teochew Chendul and Fried Hor Fun. The Teochew Chendul is the best we’ve ever had and we love the green noodle’s texture. The sweetness from Gula Melaka is just right.
The Fried Hor Fun has strong wok hey and generous portion. The prawn is fresh.

They have a good system albeit with different vendors. they help each other, so as a patron / diner, there is no conflict or confusion.

food is decent for a touristy area, prices are abit higher compared to other places but i would say still fairly worth the money.

chendul is pretty consistent across the times i came, curry mee is great and would recommend.

assam laksa is okay too, good taste of the flavours and ingredients are fairly fresh

lor bak is nice, hard to go wrong. the oyster omelette is expensive but pretty worth ill say as there were many oysters. we ordered small and it feels like there are more oysters than egg. good for sharing especially if you are planning to buy multiple dishes like we did.

rojak was mostly cucumbers and fruits, few pieces of youtiao inside but gravy is thick and flavourful. still passable in my opinion.

would come back to this place again.

Very popular tourist stop.
Tried:
. Chendul. A bit light.
. Fried oyster. Is more like Oysters Omelette. However, the taste is unique.
. Char Kway Teow. Good.

The cendol here used to be good with thick creamy coconut, but this time it’s watered down so much. It’s just water and sugar with barely coconut taste. The other foods are ok, quite nice if you want a taste of penang street food in one place. The lorbak and Rojak is very good. But the cendol, so sad that’s the quality plummeted.

Great disappointment! That’s how to describe it. As the name suggested, it was surely famous and was packed with people, mainly tourist like myself. But the food, that’s what I came here for, that is a great disappointment.
Cendol: the coconut milk was not thick enough and the whole dessert was not sweet enough to qualify for a nice Cendol. Big no no.
ABC was also not up to mark.
Fried Koay teow: thumbs down for this. Penang is supposed to be famous for this….
Laksa: used to be better, but the broth is not thick or fragrant enough. Also a big let down for Penang laksa..
Rojak was mediocre at most.

Atmosphere: The shop is hot and stuffy and the packed. Seatings not comfortable.

Verdict: guess you have to try it as a tourist 😥😥 to know it yourself, but I really wouldn’t recommend it.
