I had a wonderful time at the Ham House today! The home is beautiful with so much to look at! I particularly enjoyed the little notes on all the furniture, it really added to the experience. The staff seemed really knowledgeable about the house, and loved to talk about the home. It’s also perfectly located along the Thames!
Old English Heritage! Großartiges Herrenhaus mit sehenswertem Garten. Schnuckeliges Cafe mit Tea & Scones.
Sehr gerne hätte ich das Haus besucht. Aber an dem Tag war dann ausgerechnet ein Filmdreh und der Zugang für die Öffentlichkeit geschlossen. Das war allerdings auch toll anzusehen. Also freue ich mich auf die nächste Gelegenheit.
Loved the shops...second hand bookshop....the house itself....although I would have liked to have seen more of the servants quarters. Lovely venue...wasn't much our in the garden. Would be great to use the cafe without having to pay to look inside the house too. Should make cafe and gardens free as visitors would come and spend inside the cafe and shop more. Thanks .
Beautiful grounds and building. We did a free half hour tour today and the lady was very clear and informative. Going into the building, the other staff/helpers were very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Would love to go back.
Definitely worth a visit, even to just admire the many thousands of Crocuses (Croci?) laid out in magnificent flower beds behind the house itself. We managed to park in the free car park right by the river Thames and walk back to the house itself. It was gratifying to see so many free disabled parking spaces available outside the house itself though. Charming young lady on the ticket gate who was very welcoming and informative- great customer service. A small cafe, shop plus a large walled garden. Supplement this with a long walk down the charming river tow path and you have a great half day out. Enjoy.
