Located in Sururnagar, the eastern part of Hyderabad, the remains of this Qutb Shahi fort- palace and mosque was also called the fort of Sultan Nagar, and still later as Qila-yi Kohna, or old fort. Construction began in 1620 by Sultan Muhammad Qutb Shah, but left incomplete when the Sultan fell ill, and the project was abandoned by his successor Abdullah Qutb Shah. It cost 300,000 huns. With two conventional minarets, the prayer chamber of this mosque has seven double arches. The central arch is much larger than others, flanked by three arches on each side. A large courtyard shows remains of a cistern and a fountain.

A part of it now houses a temple devoted to Maisamma , the protective Goddess of the fortress.

Beside the temple is the cavernous entrance into the fortress with rows of rooms, some with collapsed ceilings. Some rooms have been converted into toilets and makeshift stalls for the pilgrims to cook, eat and sleep in.

Timings Temple 6 am - 5 pm
The ruins are accessible throughout the day and night.
The Char Kaman Monument is supposed to be this cool historical spot, but man, it's totally encroached! Such a bummer because it could be a real standout in Hyderabad's history. Here's hoping they sort out the situation and give this place the love and care it deserves!
Underrated place as - it beholds great part of history! The great architecture, symbol & greenery around, keep a Wikipedia on while you visit the place to take better understanding of visuals.

Best time to visit - around sunset

Peaceful place to visit with family or frnds in Hyderabad. With great historical monuments. Extended in 40 acres with peaceful atmosphere. Best tym to visit was weekday & evng sunset.
The Qutub Shahi Tombs in Hyderabad offer a serene and historical escape. Nestled amid landscaped gardens, these tombs are a testament to the grandeur of the Qutub Shahi dynasty. The intricate architecture and detailed carvings on the tombs reflect the rich cultural heritage. Despite being a smaller site compared to some other historical landmarks, the Qutub Shahi Tombs exude a quiet charm, providing visitors with a glimpse into the city's royal past. A tranquil place to explore history and architecture in the heart of Hyderabad.
If you love culture and history. This would definitely be a great place for that. It has multiple tombs spread across a large ground that it’s never over crowded. A great place for a picnic.

For photography but keep in mind they charge you INR 50 for using your phone for photos and additional INR200 for DSLR and videography. Which is first I have ever heard of when it comes to such places in India. It’s a weird is all.

The condition here is highly unsanitary, with a noticeable lack of cleanliness and poor management. Weekends exacerbate the situation, making it even more unpleasant. The odor in the Charminar area adds to the overall discomfort of the visit. It's advisable to be cautious if planning a weekend trip to this location.
More than religious faiths, it is one of the stunning and must see Indian architecture. Surrounded by lots of long agred trees and much more green.
