Golra Sharif (گولڑہ شریف) is a town situated near the Margalla Hills in Islamabad Capital Territory, Pakistan.
The main reason of popularity of this shrine is the tomb of the Sufi Saint Pir Mehr Ali Shah. He was a popular Punjabi poet of the 19th century. People gather here from world over to hear his poetry.
Pir Syed Moin ul Haq Gilani (Presently he is Sajjadah Nasheen) (Chief custodian) of the shrine of Golra Sharif.
Golra Shareef Railway station also Established in 1881 and upgraded to a junction in 1912, the Golra Sharif Railway Station has been used by the residents of the surrounding villages for over a century.
Renowned religious and spiritual personality and custodian of the Golra Sharif shrine, Allama Syed Pir Naseeruddin Naseer Gilani was laid to rest at his family graveyard at Golra here on Saturday amid tears and prayers of thousands of his followers and devotees.
Pir Naseeruddin was the grandson of Pir Mehar Ali Shah (known as Pir of Golra Sharif) and the son of Syed Ghulam Moinud Din Gilani, known as Lalajee.
