Overpriced, but delicious (fish!). If you want to experience Schickeria, this is the place to go - very superficial atmosphere. The service is pleasant, but the staff lacks knowledge about wines and lacks the passion one would expect from a restaurant of this caliber.
Prices meet quality and tatse . I’m Asian. You can trust me , guarantee .
It’s a small place, but the food is great and very tasty. The prices are also good. I recommend it.
The ramen soups are not tasty at all. Not authentic. An instant ramen tastes better. The sushi is alright but also below average. Service had some issues too.
Very nice ramen and good service in the heart of Milbertshofen! A great opening for the neighborhood! Run by very nice Japanese people! Don’t miss it if you are in the area! Gyouzas are very tasty and the ramen were delicious!
Sushi rice felt a lil tasteless and ratio or fish: rice was off. Warm dishes were better. Maggie needs more practice I guess.

Really good Japanese food for Munich, the sashimi was good with generous cuts of quite good fish.
Overall the portions were a bit small, and the menu lacks a filling dish, leading to slightly disappointing value proposition
Best take away sushi in town!

Super tasty Asian food, we loved everything we had. We will be back ☺️
Exceptional ramen restaurant <3

We tried miso and shoyu ramen and they tasted spectacular. Also the gyozas are so yummy!! The staff is very attentive and take care of the clients' confort.

Highly recommended!
Good food. Make a reservation or you will wait outside and suffer while other people skip the line who were smart enough to plan. Lol

Got a lunch takeout here with coworkers. Took some time during the lunch rush so be prepared to wait.

Everything was as expected, decent portion, fair prices, decent food, most of it either fried or raw. Good for Munich. Not a bad option for a workers quick lunch if you work near here.
Very good! I liked that the food is not expensive. Waitresses and waiters are friendly and nice. The place itself as a bit small, because there were a lot if people, so we had to seat outside. But thanks God the weather is already warmer so we could enjoy it! The minus is only an absence of card payment. But in general very cute place!
I went to Menya Ikko for the first time around 4 months ago, and was really impressed by the dishes. The broth felt authentic, looked just like in the pictures and especially the authentic takoyaki topped with bonito flakes (like it should be) was delicious. So I recently took my wife there saying how good the place was, and felt sort of insulted. The tantanmen broth was fairly bland, toppings missing, and the supposed ramen egg was half of a plain fully boiled egg. If it's a €10 ramen, I'll let it be, but for the price, that ramen was terrible. Still, the worst was the takoyaki. Why is it topped with pickled radish? I could think of it only as cutting corners. If it was the chef's decision to change it, please ask the customer what topping they want on the takoyaki. For me, I had to first remove the radish before eating.
Everything was delicious and the price was OK for being just some steps away from Marienplatz. Definitely you should try!

The rating is due to the food: rolls with too much rice over little content, very salty overall, the side ginger was cut long ago and mushy. The place was busy and service was efficient. The decor is manga inspired and cute.
Beware: they don’t take credit/debit cards, cash only.

This place is like a home owned Japanese restaurant, all staff speak in Japanese. Food is great and I would totally return!

I have a Japanese friend who is a discerning food snob, and she mentioned that in Munich, it's challenging to find authentic, affordable, and delicious Japanese cuisine, to which I agree completely. Then she found Haguruma, a hidden gem where every dish on the lunch menu is well-prepared. The sashimi is fresh, and dishes like tempura and teriyaki chicken bento set are authentically Japanese. I've mainly enjoyed their Chirashi, my favorite. When I took the first bite, it felt like tears of emotion welled up (a bit exaggerated), but my stomach did scream a bit for contentment.

The only hitch is the small kitchen, often requiring reservations, and the chefs might be a tad grumpy with loud children, as is common in many Japanese restaurants. And for dinner I am sure the food will be even better, just a bit more pricey and better go without kids.

Fantastic japanese restaurant. Excellent service and authentic food. Dumplings are presented in a real original fashion. Rice bowl are fantastic and wakame salad hits the perfect balance of structure, salt and spicyness. 5/5!

Best sushi in Munich hands down. All the options of nigiri and maki you could want. Uni, ikura, Saba - so many good options. Fish is good quality and prices are reasonable.

Very nice Japanese staff and service.
1. Staff was professional and friendly.
2. Cold dishes (sushi): some dishes were laid out for too long so they tasted pretty old; the other ones were full of additives
3. Hot dishes had 2 sauces (both tasted pretty heavy and oily), or they are fried processed products.

Should have chosen another restaurant because this was a Friday evening that we simply wanted some quality food.
Super disappointed. Extremely rushed waiter. He spoke so fast I understood nothing. We’ve had sushi at some of the best places in the world and expected much better. While it looked very pretty it just had zero flavor. The rainbow roll had a fake crab stick in the middle! The texture of all the fish seemed not too fresh. The spicy tuna roll had no spice at all (far left in pic.) The salmon and yellowtail nigiri were average and wasn’t even king salmon…reminiscent of Costco salmon tbh. After traveling for weeks through Germany I was REALLY wanting some excellent fish. Too bad! I cannot recommend this place at all!
Standard sushi, medium quality but good to go for lunch.

The food was really nice. I ordered the chirasi set incl. Salad and green tea. The sashimi was varied and fresh. The worker there apologized at the beginning, saying that the food would come out a bit late, because they were out of worker. But apparently it was quiet fast.

For baby owner: they have baby chair.
I was with a group of friends who were really eager to try out the Matsuhisa. Quite overpriced but, it was worth every cent!!
Before we entered the restaurant, we came across by this beautiful, kind, the dashing smile of the hostess, we already felt like this is going to be a blast of an experience!
The staff were very friendly, Gabor who was our waiter, really took care of our belongings (the reason why im saying this is bc, I didn’t realise how my scarf was on the floor and what the gentleman did was placing it on a small stool, which caught me off guard), very professional when it comes to customer service, made us felt very comfortable with his humour!
The sushi Chef, known as Jeff, introduced every dish with his knowledge without missing any ingredient, which made us even more intrigued and impressed. Im not a fan of wasabi so, i informed how I wouldn’t like any wasabi on my sushi/nigiri. I totally forgot about my request to the chef, which made me even more impressed. Now with that type of professionalism is what makes the restaurant more reliable!

Now with the food….
We tried out the Omakase (chef’s choice/heart) which was 7 courses!
Just by the 1st course(Octopus carpaccio with jalapeno dressing) I already knew how I would enjoy every bite of it. The rest of the courses, it filled me up so quick that I could barely even make it to the 5th course.
I had to make it till the end bc I did hear the desserts is something you should NOT miss.. May I say, how I am so glad that I managed to try out the one and only Nobu Cheesecake! It’s not just a cheesecake, it’s something so light, barely tastes the cream cheese, blends in so well with the crushed cookies and yuzu ( japanese citrus).

For fancy casual place like this, I would definitely visit on any special occasions!
It’s a place to bring your partner and celebrate either an anniversary or birthday or whatsoever occasion!!
Very good authentic Ramen, service was very welcoming, but did take a little bit. Home made Kimchi was amazing too.
Highly recommend!
Not authentic but totally fine for the price you pay. For those who never ate Japanese food before, that’s a place you can try. If you look for more authentic Japanese you have to go somewhere else.

I had Yasai tempura and the batter was too thick, it reminded me of those you can eat at all you can eat restaurants.

Agedashi tofu wasn’t served with dashi, instead I had something with soy and ginger.

Overall it’s ok.
Disappointing Visit at Matsuhisa Munich - After our enthusiastic visit to Matsuhisa Mykonos in June 2023, we were looking forward to our visit in Munich with high expectations. Unfortunately, those expectations were abruptly shattered. The atmosphere in the restaurant felt plushy, gloomy and loud. The various sushi rolls looked visually underwhelming and tasted just mediocre. The recommended six thin slices of Yellowtail Sashimi Jalapeño were pleasing to the eye but lacked flavor and were simply overpriced. The drinks and sorbet were okay. We can easily think of far better Japanese restaurants that offer a truly memorable experience and have that desirable WOW factor. The only thing that remains in our memory is that everything was just expensive, and we cannot recommend Matsuhisa Munich at all.

Their service is so quick and the food is the best Asian food I ever ate in Munich. Also the price is very reasonable.
This place never disappoints instead it is a great pleasure to eat there!!

The best sushi in Munich, always really fresh and tasty. The service is friendly and fast. Note that you can't eat there but can only get take away.
We came for all you can eat an hour before closing, but after sitting down and observing the conveyor belt, which looked extremely sad and quite frankly almost entirely empty from Sushi, we decided to skip it and order from the menu.

The food wasn’t very fresh nor flavorful unfortunately.

While the spring roll was just ok, Sweet and sour tasted more like bland and sour.
Exceptional dining experience! Matsuhisa at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Munich, led by the legendary Chef Nobu, is a culinary masterpiece that leaves a lasting impression.

From the moment you step into the restaurant, you're enveloped in an ambiance of understated elegance and serenity. The contemporary design and warm lighting create the perfect setting for a memorable meal.

The menu is a testament to Chef Nobu's artistry. Each dish is a delicate fusion of Japanese and Peruvian flavors, resulting in an explosion of taste that delights the senses. The truffled edamames are a must-try; it practically melts in your mouth. The Tiradito and Yellowtail Jalapeño are equally exquisite, showcasing the chef's mastery of flavors and textures.

The staff is attentive and knowledgeable, providing impeccable service without ever feeling intrusive. They guided us through the menu, making excellent recommendations and ensuring that every course was a delight.

The wine and sake selection complemented the meal perfectly, enhancing the overall experience. The sommelier's expertise was evident in the pairings.

Matsuhisa is not just a meal; it's a journey for your palate. It's a testament to the art of Japanese-Peruvian cuisine and the culinary genius of Chef Nobu. Dining here is a privilege, and I can't wait to return to savor more of this extraordinary fusion of flavors.
I ordered black garlic oil miso ramen as I see it looks very nice in the menu. When the waitress brought the ramen bowl to me, I was a bit shock as it didn’t look like the picture in the menu at all. There were no vegetables or spring onions as showed in the menu. The bowl is full of oil that I need ask for another bowl to take it out. The soup is over salty. There are only mince meat, noodles and half of hard boiled egg. The waitress told me that they have changed the recipe. I just had to try to eat it but left half of them. I will never come back here again

Great food, great atmosphere! The food comes very fast and is delicious!
Place: the place looks fine, there were many people, but many tables for 4 were occupied by 1-2 people, so some people had to wait for a free spot.

Service: we had to ask for a menu (a couple near us were waiting for 20 mins, until we just took menus from passing waitress). The service in total was just awful. Waiters don’t know what food they have and how it even looks (our order didn’t match to food description in the menu). We waited for 2 soups, they brought first one after 30 mins, for the second one we waited for 90 mins!!! Waiters tried to give us chicken as apology, but it was burned and cold.

Food: first soup was not so good, but eatable, plus it didn’t match to its description (all sea food was one small shrimp, instead there were some other vegetables), so we are still not sure if it was our order, waitress wasn’t sure either about it …
Second soup was just the worst soup I have ever had, we came to the conclusion, that they just forgot about it, and tried to cook it as fast as possible, eggs were already cold, everything else was burned and not eatable at all. Same was with “apology” chicken, feels like someone tried to burn frozen chicken. Last our order wasn’t ready after almost 2 hours after we ordered it, so we just cancelled it.

In total - horrible food, the worst service, and it’s overpriced. Any of these meals should cost 8-10 euros, instead of 18-20. This place deserve maximum 2 starts in total, there’s literally nothing good about it
Super delicious food, both karage and ramen! This ramen store is quite new in Milbertshofen. My friend had a karamiso and it was super tasty, while I had veggie tantan men due to personal reason. One minus point is the waitress habit, a bit odd for me.

5 Sterne.

I came here because of the good reviews and I was not disappointed. Please beware only cash and to go.
Food not fresh. Fishes didn’t have any taste and sushis were warm. Food pieces are coming one so very slow… rice was like cement. Really don’t recommend, we payed 23€ for disgusting food.
Their inclusive approach is truly heartwarming. When it comes to the food, I must say, I absolutely adore the flavorful won ton soup.
They offer a fantastic selection of wines that beautifully complement the flavors of sushi and raw cuisine. I highly recommend trying it out!

Essen war sehr gut. Habe zum Mitnehmen bestellt ca 15 Minuten gewartet. Preislich für zwei Sushi-Menü 14 €, 24 Stück. Service, eher so schnell schnell.

Really elegant and authentic Japanese food with fine flavor handling. Better than most of Japanese owned restaurants in Shanghai that I’ve experienced. As an Asian I totally recommend here.
Service is quite nice, polite and comfortable, waitresses always smile at us.
One thing to be clear after reading the comments: I used my obvious Chinese name to make the reservation and it was one of the most pleasant dinner experiences I ever had, so highly suspect if personal here would be radical as some comments blaming.

Nice japanese restaurant
Very nice, small, inexpensive sushi place in a great, centrally located location. Prices range from € 1,20 for three pieces to about € 2 for one piece - everything is freshly prepared - NO running sushi. You may eat as much spicy ginger as you like with every order - nice! Place is stylish and pretty popular, therefore often crowded. They offer take-away as well. Definitely recommended!

Update 2024: prices have picked up, Place is still affordable, yet the unlimited ginger is no more. Still love the place.

The food here is pretty good for what is it. I’ve eaten here only once and it wasn’t too expensive and the quality was good.

As you can tell from the videos that it’s a pretty quite place so perfect for dates or catching up with friends. I would 100% eat here again. The quality of the food wasn’t amazing but it was super yummy!!
Very nice Japanese restaurant. The U
udon and soup are very delicious. Simple indoor decoration but the foods are good.

Someone comment the attitude of a staff is not that good. I agree partially. It may be because of busy. They have so many orders and all the orders are freshly made.

It worth to go if u love Japanese food.
