I am very satisfied with the GP in Newport, I have not encountered any reluctance or disrespect from doctors or reception staff, whenever I call or visit the GP, the atmosphere seems to be good and nice, they try to be helpful and I cannot complain about the lack of appointments or distant appointment dates. I wish more GPs had this approach to patients because it's nice when you use NHS services and feel that someone cares and takes their profession seriously. 🙂

For a NHS service, I do believe we have a good one here. My other half lives in Cambridge, to see a Doctor, he has to wait at least a month, even emergency appointments aren't guarenteed for him, he has to go through a lengthy online process to even see a doctor. If he has any concerns, his best bet is to send in a picture of what he is concerned about, this is also a lengthy process and I feel isn't as thorough as we have here. Everyone is reluctant to see him face to face and his surgery is always telling him to just talk to a doctor online.
Here, we have it better I believe and we should be grateful for this.
Yes, it is a bit of a slow service with general GP appointments, but better compared to what I have seen in cities.
I would just like to put in a special review for Dr Diovidi (sorry if the spelling isn't correct) she is lovely, down to earth doctor and understands my needs, she speaks at such a human level and the visits don't seem as rushed, as much as I know she's on a tight schedule, it doesn't feel like you're an inconvenience to her. I often feel like this with other doctors.
I am probably going to do myself no good here but recommending her, as everyone will want to see her and my wait time will be compromised but I feel she is a very good asset to this surgery. I have been attending my whole life and she is the first doctor that has stood out to me as really caring and understanding, plus directing me to the right help that I have needed. Thank you!

If you are really concerned then you should be looking at being against the development in our area, because this will only stretch this team even more and make things harder for our doctors. We all need houses, I know as I need one myself, but with the way of the world I believe this is the only thing that can help our services. As our government is reluctant to fund the NHS and expand when needed. They wish to only fund their rich friends dodgy dealings for the benefit of their own pockets.

Long live the NHS.
