Had a really lovely meal at the Copper Clam - only gave the service 3* as they totally forgot to bring our order after taking it. However, they were very apologetic and offered free bread and another round of drinks on the house. When the food all came it was delicious, but they had forgotten again to bring my partners mussels! I think they need a little training in FOH, as the food is delicious, but the service is a little below par. It didn't look like they were short staffed. Would return again though, just for the food!

The restaurant is lovely, right across the road from the seafront, and has a nice smart but comfortable vibe. The food is all delicious and incredibly high quality - the best seafood I've had in the UK. You do pay for the quality though. If you plan on three courses plus drinks you can expect to easily spend £70 per person. So it's not a regular night out but it's a great treat especially if you like shellfish and other seafood.

I have been coming to this spot whenever I visit Brighton for years and again was blown away by the delicious food and impeccable service. The restaurant's menu offered a wide variety of options. The Moules mariniere were so fresh and perfectly cooked and so flavourful. The steak we ordered were perfectly seared and seasoned.

But what truly elevated my dining experience was the excellent service provided by an attentive, friendly waiter named Nat who went above and beyond to ensure that our dining experience was exceptional.

Overall, I can't recommend this restaurant enough. The food was top-notch, the service was outstanding, and I am grateful for such a wonderful dining experience. Thank you to the amazing wait staff for making our meal truly wonderful.

Everything was perfect for my daughter's wedding meal. I had prawns, steak and a cheeseboard. It was all delicious. The view is lovely and the staff are friendly and professional.
I would recommend a visit, especially if you want to treat yourself and your guests.

What an absolutely incredible experience we had at the Coal Shed! The food was outstanding, hands down one of the best meals I have ever had.
For starters we got the truffle arancini (to share), they were incredible, you could definitely taste the truffle and the combination with the parmesan cheese was wow. I wish they gave 4 pieces instead of 3, but that's my preference as it would be easier to share. We also had the slow cooked pork belly, which was absolutely delicious. It was so tender, it melted in my mouth! I was in heaven!
The steak was also really good, but the triple cooked chips stole the show. I would go back to Brighton just to have another incredible meal at the Coal Shed!

My new favourite place in Brighton. Owen who looked after us was super knowledgable and enthusiastic about their food. We can’t wait to go back.

Was lucky enough to walk in and get a seat outside. The staff was amazing and very helpful. Definitely try the crab fries! Also, ask for a smoked old fashion….not on the menu, but the bar tender knocked it out of the park! Can’t wait to come back!

Really bright and well presented surroundings with a lively atmosphere.
On a fine warmer day, plenty of outside space for dinning, with views out to sea.
Plenty of choice menu wise.
The food is proper well prepared seafood with options for meat eaters and vegetarians. We had the sharing fish pie which was very tasty and plentiful. Very competitive prices for a large seafront restaurant. Service excellent friendly and informative. There was quite a wait for the food ordered to arrive but gives you time for a good chin wag and a tipple. In the end, worth the wait.

The experience starts at the door, friendly greeting, coats taken and hung up, well dressed table, attentive staff. Drinks order taken and delivered quickly. Fantastic choices on menu with innovative well cooked food delivered with a smile, wine poured by watchful staff, the happy birthday plate was a lovely surprise, the iced Christmas pudding was a revelation, never eaten anything so clever before, had the same sweet on our second visit

Ich sag mal ansich war es ein schöner Abend, bis ich nach Hause kam auf die Toilette bin und dann im Badezimmer geschlafen habe weil es mir so schlecht ging. Würde ja raten kein Fisch oder Ähnliches zu essen, schwierig in einem fischrestaurant.

Ich dachte schon alle Bewertungen in Brighton sind gekauft.
Dieses Restaurant aber ist hervorragend.
Die Vorspeise war ausgezeichnet.
Die Hauptspeise leider ein wenig karg dekoriert. Ein wenig mehr Gemüse zur Präsentation wäre wünschenswert. Das Fleisch (Chateaubriand) war ein wenig beissfest und leicht verbrannt am Rand.
Das Dessert war wiederum perfekt.
Der Service war auch gut. Wir hatten nicht reserviert haben aber sofort ein Tisch bekommen.

Sehr feine Filet und Sirlion. Super Kartoffelstock. Fantastische Broccoli. Service super.

Das Essen war lecker und die Bedienung auch freundlich aber zwei Sachen die wir bestellt haben wurden einfach vergessen (obwohl nur 5 Tische besetzt waren) und am Ende kam die Rechnung zwei Mal falsch. Wenn man auf der Terrasse sitzt ist die Straße davor sehr laut, aber dafür der Blick auf das Meer schön. Drinnen ist es ok.

Seafood sehr gut. Top Lage.

Sehe teuer und nichts am Teller. Trotzdem das essen war gut.

Ich hatte ein ribeye-steak mit Gemüse und einen Rotwein ,nach Empfehlung des Kellners. Beides war absolut Klasse.
Generell ist die vielfalt der Restaurants in Brighton riesig, und wer behauptet man kann nicht gut essen weiss nicht was gut ist.:)
The coal shed ist allerdings hochpreisig angesiedelt,für meinen Geschmack nicht für den "legeren Alltag" geeignet.aber wenns etwas schicker sein soll ist man hier genau richtig.
