I personally liked it more than the British museum. It's got so much to see and something for every interest. Such amazing artworks and artifacts. Not as crowded as the British Museum. Has a beautiful cafe and a good visit to pair with Harrods which is 10 minutes walk away.

One of the best art museum in London! Not really crowded even on holidays, many art items with comfortable amount of crowd allowing you to enjoy the art. Their cafe is another highlight of the museum, you get to dine in an astonishing dining hall.
Fantastic museum. Far too large for one day...pick 2-3 areas to dive into and choose your route through the museum to scan more. We managed Middle Ages / Renaissance and Paintings, but walked through Sculpture, Jewelry, Casts, and a couple more in our way to and from the galleries we really wanted to see. The café is gorgeous (all three rooms). It's worth ordering something just to spend a little time taking it all in.

The whole museum deserves descriptors like "stunning" and "magnificent."
This museum is amazing! It has a huge collection of artifacts that tell the story of the world's history. It's quite large, so plan on spending at least 5-6 hours to see everything. My kids especially loved exploring the different sections, like the ones on Europe, Asia, and Africa.
Beautiful interiors. It has much to interest the art enthusiasts. The interiors were breathtaking. The sculptures were in good detail. There are a lot of chinese porcelain pieces with a lot of details. Would recommend buying tickets in advance though the entrance is free
Enjoyable place to visit looking around a royal residence, the history of Queen Victoria from a young girl to her later life. The rooms, the furniture, and some classic paintings on the walls. Quite a few staircases to climb, but there are small lifts in most areas. Cafe with outside seating, serving light meals, tea, and coffee. A gift shop is also available and most things at a reasonable price.
Beautiful place, there was a long queue outside, but it was worth it. You can walk freely inside, place is not big. Just make sure that you come at the time that is specified in your ticket, as queues are grouped based on entry time.
Soooo much fun and interesting things to see and learn from! We spent almost an entire day there, and still haven't seen everything, we are going back for another visit and this time hopefully we'll see more! Unbelievable diversity of cultural arts, pottery, jewellery, clothes, etc that one would need a few days/ visits to be able to really get it! Loved every second of my 1st visit and can't wait to return!
As a die-hard Sherlock Holmes fan and an avid reader of the great detective’s adventures, stepping into the Sherlock Holmes Museum at 221B Baker Street is akin to walking into a dream. The moment you cross the threshold, you are transported to the Victorian era, surrounded by an ambiance that Sir Arthur Conan Doyle himself would approve of. The museum is meticulously curated, with each artifact and piece of memorabilia resonating with the spirit of the stories that have captivated us for generations. From Holmes’ iconic deerstalker hat to the pipe and magnifying glass, every item feels as if it has been handpicked by Dr. John Watson to preserve the legacy of his dear friend. The attention to detail is astonishing; the rooms are arranged as they are described in the novels, complete with Holmes’ violin and the Persian slipper where he keeps his tobacco. It’s not just a museum; it’s a homage to the world’s only “consulting detective” and a sanctuary for those who still hear the echoes of “The game is afoot!” For anyone who has followed Holmes through the fog-laden streets of London or pitted their wits against his in the pursuit of justice, this museum is not just a visit; it’s a pilgrimage. It stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of Sherlock Holmes and the indelible mark he has left on literature and the art of deduction. The Sherlock Holmes Museum is not merely an exhibition; it’s an experience, a slice of history, and a loving tribute to the master of deduction. It’s a must-visit for anyone who cherishes the thrill of the chase and the power of a story well told.
This place is much smaller than the Buckingham palace however, it is no less in beauty. The palace is surrounded by a garden and has a huge lake in front of it. If you want to enter the palace and take a tour then you will have to purchase tickets. However, if you just want to visit the garden and have a nice day there, it's completely free. You can enjoy the view of the lake, have a stroll in the garden, walk your dog, feed the swans, ducks and other birds, or even have a nice picnic here.
A lovely little free museum detailing the history of Islington. I found the radicals section and the bust of Lenin particularly interesting.

Small but interesting if you are a foreigner and want to know more about homes in England on the 17th century. Small but quite beautiful garden. And it is free.
Einfach wunderbar gemacht.
Es gibt sehr vieles zu sehen. Unbedingt alle Station angucken.
Restaurants, Toiletten, Aufzüge vorhanden.
Standing atop the hill in Greenwich Park, you’re at the prime meridian, where east meets west. The iconic Meridian Line runs through the courtyard, marking the starting point for global time. As you step into this celestial realm, you’re treading where time begins! 🌠🔭
The surrounding park offers lush greenery, serene pathways, and a sense of tranquility. Take a leisurely stroll and soak in the beauty.
I visited Kensington Palace on a weekday and lucked out with sunny weather in January. The palace is definitely worth a visit, offering a fascinating glimpse into history and royal life. After exploring the palace, you can enjoy a leisurely stroll in the nearby park, making it a perfect day out. Whether you're interested in history or simply seeking a peaceful escape, Kensington Palace and its surroundings won't disappoint.

Had some extra time before a meeting and was presently surprised just how good it was for a free museum. They, of course, accept donations and is good to donate and keep a place like this going.
It was very interesting to walk around and see the exhibits, I was mainly in the garden even though the weather wasn't great.
If you have a free hour or so, I'd recommend doing it.
Nestled amidst breathtaking gardens and a tranquil pond, this palace is an absolute gem for photography enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. The architecture is simply stunning, providing the perfect backdrop for capturing memorable moments. The meticulously maintained gardens offer a delightful escape for leisurely strolls, with picturesque views at every turn. And with numerous benches scattered throughout, there’s no shortage of cozy spots to pause and take in the beauty of the surroundings. My visit was nothing short of magical, and I highly recommend this enchanting palace for anyone seeking a serene and unforgettable experience.
Looks beautiful, really good landscape and gardens!

Really enjoyable for children, there is a park for children (you can only enter if you have a child with you) the park has lots of attractions for children.

There is a cafe and toilets.

The Kensington palace you can walk around it for free, however if you want to visit the place where princess Diana lived you do need to purchase ticket before hand, below in my pictures you will
Be able to see the price. The last entry ticket is 4:30pm. The Kensington place garden is beautiful beyond imagination.

It is a lovely park if you just wanted to walk through or come with family (picnic)

Would definitely keep coming!
The park is really well maintained.

I hadn’t heard of this museum but so glad I came across it outside Hoxton Overground Station. It’s free but you can donate and the Museum is wheelchair accessible. There are lots of home settings through out the ages that are really interesting as is the building itself.

What I found most interesting was the posters with lots of interesting information about the home. The garden is stunning and the wall overlooking the garden is clad in ivy! It could have sat in the garden for ages as it’s an oasis of calm.

There is also a small book and gift shop with lively books , especially those for children. I didn’t see a cafe but the signage states there is a cafe!

Exhibits were brilliant and informative. Staff were also lovely :) they do have a statue of a certain someone to take care of but other than that, great!
Lovely garden too.
Lovely museum with incredible artifacts. Such nice volunteers leading guided tours. Loved that it was not nearly as crowded as the natural history museum across the street. I’d love to visit again and spend more time. Loved the soap in the gift shop and brought some home with me.
Obviously this palace isn't as nice as the much more famous Buckingham palace but I still really enjoyed my visit here. The gardens in front of the palace make it a very tranquil experience and the perfect getaway from the busy city. Highly recommended if you're in Kensington.
The museum is fantastic overall. My personal highlight was the intricate miniature structures on the third floor. Visiting on a Sunday, I found the first and second floors bustling with visitors, but the third and fourth floors were pleasantly uncrowded. From jewelry to technological devices, the museum exhibits a diverse array of items from around the globe. I highly recommend paying a visit.
Nice place located in a neat park, on a hilltop with a spectacular view over the city. Of course, the prime meridian is the main attraction and a must-see for London visitors. The observatory itself is lavishly restored and conserved.

However, the entrance fee is bold, bordering on insolent. Almost £ 70 for a four-headed family (two minors) is a lot, especially considering the exposition and features on location. Not really value for money; rating reduced to some rather weak four stars.
Really cool experience. This is where the Meridian Line starts. I didn’t know this when getting in so I was shocked to learn this when I was in the museum. You can stand your feet across the line and take pictures. It also have a good view of the London skyline. Overall very fun and educational experience for me. Highly recommend.
So this is an OK place. It's a little bit of a shtick in that there isn't that much to do there.

It's fun if you have a fan of Sherlock in the group (we did). So they made it more fun seeing all the weird elements. There is a partial tour, but most of the time, you are just wandering the different floors and checking out history.

The gift shop has a ton of Sherlock related merch, which is best for fans.
This was in my bucket list for many years as a sherlock fan. Enjoyed the visit. Long wait times 30-40min. Recommend prior bookings. It would have been better if they include more segments to this to improve visitor satisfaction.
Not bad. Once inside the guide will talk to you for about 10 minutes about two rooms on the first floor. Then you're on your own to explore the floors above it. Depending on how long you look at all the items above the first floor, it should only take you about 30 to 40 minutes to go through the museum
Cool place to visit only for those who are Shelock Holmes fans. Wait, who isn't a Holmes fan?! From the gift shop next door, where you buy your tickets, to 221B Baker Street, this was a classic tour. The only thing missing was Mrs. Hudson. Start in the gift shop where everything is Sherlock. Money is flowing freely here. There is a Bobby at the door keeping everyone in order. Quarters are tight, so be prepared for tight movements inside the 4- storied apartment. After the visit, pop over to Regents Park for a beautiful, relaxing walk.
This has been on my bucket list for a while, and I really enjoyed it.
Interesting museum, Prime Meridian, 1pm the dropping of the ball and epic views of London.
Only disappointment was the planetarium was closed to the public for school trips.
Bathroom facilities.
Cafe.
Pay and display parking available just outside (max 4hrs)
I used National Art Pass to get free entry, so I couldn't book a ticket in advance. However, the queue was not very long, and I got in after about 5 minutes. Make sure to pick up an audio guide. A map is not really necessary because there were specific paths to follow. The staff at Kensington Palace were very friendly and helpful. I attended one of the talks at the King's State Apartments, and it was very interesting. I also enjoyed walking around the garden after visiting the Palace. Overall, it was an enjoyable afternoon.
For any Sherlock Holmes enthusiast, a visit to 221b Baker Street is essential. The museum faithfully recreates the Victorian-era residence of Holmes and his partner Dr. John Watson, mirroring the descriptions from the stories. Guests can immerse themselves in rooms brimming with artifacts, memorabilia, and reenactments of the detective's renowned exploits. Book your tickets in advance as the lines can get long.
Great way to pass a half hour. Little gem of a museum exclusively based on the Sherlock Holmes’s character. Small house filled with memorabilia of the era. However, the tour talk is primarily based on a quick 10 minute briefing in one or two rooms of the house only. You are in and out of the house in 20 minutes max. The museum shop is good!!
Celebrating International Woman's Day ,initially, to be absolutely recognised and acknowledged also welcomed with kindness positive and phenomenal compassion.
Nice afternoon spent at the Royal Observatory.
The clock exhibition was very interesting.
Some amazing views of London, managed to spot a hazy St Paul's Cathedral.
Quite a steep walk up to the Observatory, but plenty of benches to rest at if required.

Lovely place where you can see the different styles London homes went through. The parlours translated me to 1700 and 1800 England and they were great to see, and beautiful. You can also see the gardens which are nice particularly in a sunny day, and also bathroom, cooking and cleaning, etc. The explanations are great to understand how people lived and the differences vs nowadays.
Einzeleintritt £ 24.-
I visited the museum dedicated to the literary detective Sherlock Holmes, despite mixed reviews online, I personally found it to be a delightful, if irreverent, homage.

I think it depends who you visit with, I went with another person who enjoys quirky museums so we had a great time.

Housed in a Grade 2 listed Georgian townhouse from 1815, it features a blue plaque marking "221b Sherlock Holmes consulting detective 1881-1904."

Inside, a Victorian-dressed tour guide leads visitors through meticulously detailed rooms starting from Sherlock's chaotic study, filled with objects like his violin and medical case, each evoking the spirit of the stories.

Sherlock's bedroom displays pictures of serial killers and the iconic, though not Doyle-penned, deerstalker hat.

The tour becomes self-guided from Watson's quarters upwards, ending with a peculiar collection of wax figures, including Professor Moriarty.

The attic offers a glimpse into Victorian daily life.

The first-floor rooms are well-executed, though additional guided tours for the upper floors would enhance the experience.

Overall, it's a quirky museum worth visiting for those who enjoy unique attractions.

Priced at £16, the visit is reasonably priced for today's standards, particularly appealing to mystery aficionados and fans of the books.

The museum's gift shop is notable for its extensive Sherlock Holmes memorabilia.

Buy timed tickets in advance so you don't have to wait in the long queue. Make sure you get into the right queue.

The stairs are a little steep and there are no toilets.

If you get off at Baker Street underground look out for the Sherlock tiles in the station.

Look out for the Sherlock statue in front of the station.
Nice place to visit, but don't be sad if you don't get to go inside the observatory as it's not that much of a wow moment place, in my opinion. I feel that I have seen different clocks and dials in other free museums. However, nothing beats the feeling knowing you are standing at the very 0° meridian and the place where great minds were put to work.
Sorroundings and the gardens when the flowers are bloomed are beautiful, as well as the view over Greenwich University and The City.

Great Museum if you're looking for something to do on a cold winters day! It's free entry (although you do have the option to donate) and there's plenty to explore and visit to keep you busy for up to 2 hours! It details the different way we have lived since the 1700's and it shows a great presentation of what it means to be, have or feel 'at home'. Great concept!
What a cool place!
It’s hard to imagine the how hard it must’ve been long ago to figure out time and place, something we just take for granted today.
This place goes a long way to explaining how it all came about. The museum itself is very well done, with some incredible artifacts that are still in place. The park itself is beautiful, and has incredible views of the London skyline, particularly on a day that we went, which was a rare clear day. Highly recommended!
The Royal Observatory was a wonderful experience. I've always been interested in having the correct time. Even as a child I would ring the local correct time number often, this is now a hands on experience at the observatory.

I enjoyed seeing the timeline of time pieces as well as the naval clocks that were a product of finding more accurate time pieces for navigation.

I found out some interesting bits about the actual meridian as well. I highly recommend a visit to anyone interested in time and a chance to stand at 0° Longitude.

I also visited Cutty Shark as part of package deal.

I recently visited the Museum of the Home, for the first time, and thoroughly enjoyed my experience. It was fascinating to learn about and explore the evolution of domestic interiors from 1600 to the present day.

The museum is open to the public free of charge, and there's no need to make a booking. Please note that it's closed on Mondays.

An amazing location. Set back off the main road, you'll in for a surprise as the museum just keeps on going...and going..Turn another corner and there are yet more fun things to see.

Favourite part was just comparing rooms from hundreds of years ago to pretty much today. The contemporary loft apartment is worlds away from the living room of the 17th century of course, but it's a joy to spend time just exploring it.

A great cafe, beautiful gardens to explore. Free lockers, fun little colourful bookshop and staffed by friendly folks.

And it's all FREE!! Well, not the cafe obviously, but definitely worth a visit.
It’s a very cosy and warm place to working in week times. The person who is in reception is too pretty and helpful. The ambience is very good for a person who is working from home.
Visited for the Royal Watercolour exhibition. Some really well composed and constructed paintings, some of which are for sale. The gallery itself is light and airy and the reception staff very welcoming. Books and gifts available.
Wonderful art gallery hosting Secret post cards Combat Stress art auction on world Mental health day. Raised £37,000 and more to date great fun to take part.
The Islington Museum features a well-curated, interesting collection of artifacts worth viewing if you have 45 minutes to spare in the area. Because the items are so specific to the local history the experience is eclectic one, including artifacts from centuries ago up to those focused on more recent decades.
