small but interesting museum with 1 floor upstairs displaying the famous wine vessels (qvevri) and beautiful artefacts dating back to 40.000 years BC, and one room ground floor dedicated to the golden findings. 6Lari entrance, toilet, friendly staff.

Ставлю 10 из 10. Обязательно берите экскурсию! Получите максимум впечатлений! Тем более - разница всего в 1 лари - считай, бесплатно. Емкая подача информации, 2 этажа - по ощущениям- долго. Хотя на первый взгляд и при самостоятельном осмотре так не кажется. Один нюанс - в здании нет туалета.
Un musée bien tenu mais on y manque d'informations sur ce qu'on voit : pourquoi ces artistes et ces œuvres, pourquoi cette exposition temporaire qui met face à face des œuvres modernes et contemporains, sur quel thème ? On voit et on repart un peu déconcerté. Pas un mot d'explication...
Музей не очень большой. Можно осмотреть очень быстро. Часто проходят выставки художников и скульпторов. Есть пара картин Айвазовского, местные художники. Некоторые картины требуют реставрации. На втором этаже есть мягкие пуфики и зона для детей, где можно порисовать.
This is not a big museum, but it is still worth a visit. Please, make sure you ask for a guided tour, otherwise you won't get enough information about the exposition to appreciate the history and the archeological value of ancient Georgian culture. Try to plan a visit to Gonio fortress before/after the visit to the archeological museum, some of the exhibited pieces are from there.
Interesting must see place if you want to have a quick glance on history, easy to check in, entrance fee is 3 Gel and kids for 0.50 Gel. Beside there are copies from original historic and ancient things you can buy
