Excellent Museum, well laid out, interesting artifacts and aircraft. Staff and volunteer guides were super friendly and knowledgeable. Our Reserve Hangar Tour Guide (Karen) was very knowledgeable and passionate about explaining the history of the aircraft and artifacts.
We were limited by our schedule to an evening visit and attended the National Gallery on Thursday night when attendance was free after 5pm. We only visited the First floor and took in the Riopelle 100 Anniversary exhibit and the Canadian Art permanent exhibition. The latter is much more than just the Group of Seven. It is clearly worth the entry price on its own. Highlights included numerous Inuit pieces, Elizabeth Wood's sculpture, Lawrence's painting of his Superior visit, and several other outstanding works.
The tickets are timed, so the groups are not so large. The quality of work is amazing.The architecture is also beautiful so take a moment to enjoy that. Seems to be fully wheelchair friendly, but an elevator must be used to start the tour so ask to use it asap so you don't miss the first bit of tour speech.
