Grassroots is an AMAZING, First Class after school and summer program. I've taught in Danbury over 17 years and have had the pleasure of having several students enrolled when I taught upper elementary. Each of those students excelled above and beyond in my classroom with the support they received. I've also donated items over the years and have been able to watch those students grow up and graduate High School, including one who is off to Pre-Med this year
This is not an afterschool program that babysits and offers fun activities. Students and parents must apply. The program is designed to meet the needs of students who have great potential, but might lack support at home due to parents with who work very often, or perhaps come from immigrant families where their parents only have a limited education. They do not focus on children who are struggling severely with academics or behavior problems in school.
