Thank you so much for our wonderful wedding cake and cupcakes! We love coming to Hillgate Cakery - the food is delicious and Simon and Sarah are lovely people. We had nothing but positive comments from our guests and none of them could believe it was vegan!

Fantastic place! Amazing cakes, great savoury food and lovely owners. This is what the New Stockport is all about. Ordered a carrot cake for a family party, it was unbelievable and everyone loved it, vegans and non-vegans. Definitely one of the best cakes I've ever had. Thank you very much and see you soon.

I ordered a christening cake for my son and it was fabulous. Amazing attention to detail and a fantastic service. The staff know their stuff!!

Shop here most days usually have what you need sometimes only one on till so have long queues but most times they do ring for another on till

Take your pick. Argos, Currys, Dunelm, B&M's, B&Q, Next Pets@Home, CarpetRight, Halfords, Costa, Coffee, McDonald's and a very popular large burger van outside of B&Q. The choice is yours with ample parking. It is very busy at the weekend and busy during the week.

Great little bakery on our door step. Can pre order cakes. Has a selection of small cakes and deserts daily.

I personally go for the choice of fresh breads, sausage rolls and pies.

Brilliant food and great staff, service with a smile whenever I go in. 👌🏻
I can 100% say their Low GI Loaf makes the best piece of toast ever.

Turned up today at 10am to a miserable unfriendly lad opening up and produce clearly from the day(s) before. No thanks.

Be aware I went to buy a chocolate crescent with the price marked up at £1.25 which I went to pay the server was rude and charged me more even though the price was marked as £1.25, the server when I said you are charging me too much and they were rude and said the price was right, the food wasn't fresh as I bought a pastry and it was hard and didn't taste very good.

My favourite bakers. Choc chip cookies are a must. Always visit at Christmas time for the festive bakes. Good selection of hot & cold sanwiches. Just a shame a lot of local stores have shut down.

Chrissie who works in the Stockport branch was very passive aggressive with her lack of customer service skills and always tries and succeeded once in overcharging me for sandwiches because she claims that they charge extra for Branston Pickle even though it's included in the price, making a £3.90 sandwich (which is advertised in the shop) to £4.30, I know this is correct because I have spoken to Ady the floating manager who confirmed this. I have challenged Chrissie on this and told her what her manager Ady had said but she just exclaimed that she has spoken to the manager as well, even though the sign in the clearly states the correct price. I have also formally complained about this malpractice which is clearly illegal because it's called up pricing at the till which you are not allowed to do but they haven't got back to me in at all. Good service is hard to find.

Got a caramel latte while out in wet weather well it's winter and the north 👍

The older member of staff has a right attitude , speaks abruptly to you, looks very grumpy and throws your order to you down on the counter. As I've got older the actual shopping experience means more and more to me and she makes it an unpleasant one. The younger staff are nicer.

Bought 2 bacon baps for an extortionate £6.60 ! Which were absolutely disgusting. Bacon like cardboard. Don't know how they think it's OK to sell food that horrendous. Took one bite and unable to eat the rest

Great selection of fresh baked bread and cakes daily, hot and cold pies an pasties, pork pies dinky and large, lovely cream cakes an all the usual faves, recommend the rum truffle, sandwiches prepared fresh in store, hot and cold drinks. Long queue sometimes but worth the wait.
