Great little coffee shop and the cakes were amazing. I liked the quirky style the cafe was set out and it gave it lots of character. Great coffee too.

Tried it for the first time, absolutely lovely! Had the french toast with bacon, scrambled eggs & maple syrup - super good. Dad loved his full english and said the black pudding was fantastic. Coffee is on the weaker side but still perfectly enjoyable. Very lovely ambience with outdoor seating, right outside of the majestic cathedral. You can also order & pay from your phone at the table which is very convenient (regular ordering and payment available). Prices in line with any other breakfast place in the area

Just had a take away and It's cooked to perfection. Highly recommend this place.

Visiting Lincoln we came across the lovely cafe in Newport. We both had a veggie fry up. Wow, a nice big plate of food and toast, including all the usual breakfast stuff. Very reasonably priced. Nice clean cafe, friendly staff, great 60s/70s decor.
So good we went back next day and repeated.

Lincoln is lovely, the Cathedral is majestic. Round the back in a courtyard is a nice cafe. The food was good, although the price for a fish finger sandwich is too much for shop bread and cheap fish.

The real reason for the 1 star is the service.

We ordered food and a bottle of wine. The waitress came back and said sorry we don't have a bottle so I'll give you 4 small (187ml) bottles instead.

The wine was ok, and so I went to pay.

The bill was higher than expected, and i asked about the wine. I was told that the 4 bottles were charged each and not as the price for one large .75l bottle. I noted that that wasn't what we agreed and I was told good grief you're not going to quibble about £8, you look like you could afford it.'

Definitely one star service. The White Heart just round the corner is far better.

Nasty food msaka gave me diarrhoea.
Cafe uses food that go off by the next day. They have an unrealistic zero waste mindset. Even when something doesn't taste nice and customers would not like it they don't listen.

Currently sat in the cafe after demonushing a £7 full English, with a coffee for less than a macdonld 'value meal.
Food is amazing, service warming and firendly. Recommend to anyone nearby or passing by.

Yes the food here is great. Kelsey served me she was lovely. As in really nice. It’s a training cafe but don’t be afraid, they are really good and looked after myself and my guest really well. I am proud to support that place and will definitely return and very soon. I have also heard the afternoon teas are exceptional. I wasn’t sure about ordering poached eggs because they are tricky but Kelsey assured me they can do them and they were great. The tea was in a non leaking teapot and the coffee was brilliant. Very happy. Thank you everyone

Great welcome & service by all those learning the trade, from taking food & drink orders, payment preparation & cooking of food, serving on this occasion a HUGE jacket potato, full to the brim of vegetarian chilli 'n cheese, salad & coleslaw, costing £6 only. When asked by a friendly waiter "If everything was OK"? Smilng i showed him my clean plate & said - "I think so ... the proof is on the plate, i've literally cleaned up, it was d.e.l.i.c.i.o.u.s!

Beautiful cafe with an amazing cause behind it! Went in there with my partner and loved it!

Food was delicious and well priced.

Lad server was friendly and wasn't bothered by a last minute awkward request to have my food in a takeout box.

Give it a try! And make sure to tip since workers are voluntary and it's a good cause :D

Lovely little place that we didn't know existed until we found reviews online.

We arrived just in time to get the last free table. There was a que at the door for the whole time we were there. Must mean it's good!

Food was really tasty and decent potion size. Saw lots of other dishes coming out that all looked amazing.

Nice atmosphere. A little cramped as tables are close together but it was just ok.

Drinks are a bit pricey in comparison to food prices but I noticed most people just had jugs of water instead.

Definitely will visit again.

Very well cleaned and traditional looking cafe. I came after a tiring nightshift looking for something that was open close by on a rainy morning.
Was welcomed very quickly by the kind lady who took my order straight away and didn’t spare a second to get straight on it.
The inside had a very Lincolnshire feel - awesome to see our counties’ history represented very well inside, Per Ardua.
Food was fresh and filling - for £8.50 its nothing to complain about with the offer of black pudding and seasoning/sauce.

I look forward to returning very soon to try other items.

Such a lovely coffee shop, we visited pretty much every day we were in Lincoln. The drinks were gorgeous and the atmosphere was even better. Highly recommend!

I recently visited Lincoln from the USA. Before my trip I did a bit of reading up on the local coffee houses and marked a few as "must visit." Oddly, a not-so-flattering review of Coffee Aroma is what made me decide I *must* visit. The reviewer sounded entitled, self-centered and unctuous...they had no problem with the coffee, the service or the ambiance. Apparently, they didn't like the music and kept turning it off so they could listen to their own. Anyone who has the audacity to walk into someone's place of business (or home!) and think it's OK to take control of the playlist or mess with the sound equipment shouldn't be allowed out in public. I found the music at Coffee Aroma to be absolutely perfect. As was the coffee, the tea, the hot chocolate, and all the cakes, croissants and toasties I consumed over the course of two weeks while I was in town. My only regret was not asking if the playlist is available on Spotify (if it's not, please consider it!) I will definitely be coming back--every day-- when I'm back in Lincoln this summer. I will miss not coming here every day!

First time visit, just popped in when passing for a quick bite to eat. Got a bacon and sausage baguette to take away. Service was great with a friendly welcome. Food was superb, clearly made with care, it was lovely and at a very reasonable price. Will definitely be visiting this little gem again

Absolutely fantastic place to go to eat. I had a Jacket potato with cheese bean's and Salad. Absolutely delicious 😋. It's also Dog friendly which is really lovely because my little Dog Absolutely loves it. He had a sausage to eat 😋.

Really enjoyed my carrot cake and hot chocolate. The staff were really helpful and quickly found us a table. Ordered online... took a while to be served, but the cafe was heaving, so that's easily excused. Not cheap, and a quick look at the clients suggested that they were not worried about paying their heating bills, so I guess the prices suited their needs.

I thought it would be quieter on a Tuesday lunchtime. I got that wrong. Very popular. Very busy. Dread to think what weekend is like. Slightly expensive but it is to support the Cathedral so no complaints. Would go again if in the area.

It is a practice establishment so very seldom you deal with some young uptight servers with no sense of humour. But overall very nice food. Just struggling to find a parking spot.

Me and my husband went there after reading the glowing reviews. We were not disappointed. We had a full vegetarian breakfast and it was fresh and delicious. The owners were lovely. We will definitely be going there again.

Drawn in by the positive reviews, we were delighted with the (vegan) options. Service was brisk, by very professional and friendly staff and the food was nicely presented. The vegan spinach and falafel burger was generous and tasty; the soup thick and hearty. A great experience of a well-run cafe and we’ll certainly be back. Hopefully some of the vegan options make it into the year-round menu!

The cosiest cafe I know. Food is lovely and cakes are wonderful. Comfortable seating and a great atmosphere.

Really delicious wholesome homemade food at a fraction of the price you would expect to pay at a regular café. Very pleased to have supported no food waste.

Hidden Gem!

Enjoyed a delicious lunch for 2 here recently. Highly recommend the tuna mayo panini and smoked salmon cream cheese bagel.

There is an impressive range of cakes/tray bakes - all home made! You will not be able to resist!

Excellent service and the cappuccino was made perfectly.

I highly recommend. We will be coming again.

Had a great stay here and would definitely come again and recommend. The house is quiet and rooms clean. The owners are extremely accommodating and friendly (even carried my suitcase to my room). The breakfast here is delicious and hearty and cheap as chips!

Lovely friendly place, food looked and smelt fantastic, i couldn't have any as i was having a meal at home. I had a coffee and sat chatting, it was my first time there and i was made to feel very welcome, prices are very good and service was exceptional,

Small dining area but had really good chicken curry and chips here, seasoned well and crisped to perfection. A bit cold inside but perhaps because I was the only customer dining in for the day. Ian was so engaging and warm to his customers. Open 7 days a week and they offer Sunday roast as well he said. Didn't get the chance to see their accommodation unfortunately.
