Found this little tea house for a tea break. This’s our first authentic Japanese hokuhoku dumpling & matcha experience in Kyoto!
We love this tea house as it’s really relaxing . We got to enjoy our afternoon tea with beautiful Japanese music and all the dessert we ordered was delicious. We would definitely come back again for more hokuhoko dumpling

The experience of grilling your own dango and then dipping them in the sauce is very enjoyable! Besides that, I really liked the relaxed atmosphere of the place. I'll probably come back because the roll cakes looked delicious.
Perfect experience, we visited the Ex Cafe on Saturday and Arashiyama was already packed with lots of people. We didn't know if there would be seats, but when we got there, there were only two people waiting on a bench. So it didn't take long before we were seated. We tried grilled dango and matcha tea and it was great!
Found this cafe hidden away from the bustling main road for a tea break. We were seated in the end hall and left our shoes in the cabinet. The atmosphere was transquil, which was perfect to rest our feet. We enjoyed our hoku hoku odango combo set and zenzai while it could be a seasonal item that my daughter didn't get to order kori-mango as it wasn't on the menu.
many diners are locals so it’s very authentic! we asked for the tatami seats and the ambience was very relaxing. matcha desserts was great too!
Great for family and those who want quiet place to relax for a while. We had sofa seats and it was perfect! There were big windows to view beautiful Japanese gardens.
Excellent and a must when in Kyoto! High recommend! Get parfait and the drink set! They taste so good!
We went here based on an internet recommendation, otherwise we would have missed this place for sure! It's very small and is easily missed, so it wasn't crowded either. We had a pleasant stay here, the tea and sweets were very good.
Request an indoor garden seat and spoil yourself with a delicious tea or coffee and one of their lovely icecream sundaes. A real taste delight and the garden is beautiful with its gorgeous autumn colours. Wonderful efficient service too.
