Popped in while visiting Edinburgh for the evening. Very nice staff who got us a seat outside even though the place was booked. Outstanding Cullen skink appetizer. Catch of the day was delicious and the sticky toffee pudding was amazing. All around great experience.
It is fabulous that we can be the late Queen Elizabeth 's Britannia. The whole Yacht is a huge, like a Palace in a Sea. Even you have a shop inside. I recommend to have a tea in the upper deck in the end of the visit. Nice view and excellent chef. You can feel that you are a royalty a bit...
The food and service were excellent! The manager and staff members were very accommodating in helping me avoid dairy as much as possible. The atmosphere was welcoming and hospitable, and the food was outstanding. Overall, a great experience with top-notch service
Absolute favorite, especially for large groups!
Alex, our hostess, was incredible. She served our 20+ table with the best attitude and was even super helpful when I was confused on what to order.

She suggested Haggis, and after trying it for the first time; it didn't disappoint.

I loved the overall ambience and would highly recommend it if you’re Waterloo-bound.
A must visit if you are in Edinburgh. It was a wonderful opportunity to visit this special piece of royal history. Once you are on board, there is no time pressure to leave, and I recommend having tea and scones in the tea room.
Totally worth a visit. Family ticket for 50 GBP... For UK prices it's very decent... The entire tour took around 1 hour and 15 minutes. Very very interesting and the audio tour was complimentary. Right in front of the Ocean terminal tram stop.
A ship with a rich history. Due to renovations to the visitor center and the ship itself the tour was a bit chaotic and we also couldn't admire the full beauty of the ship. However, there is enough to make up for it. Including the stories from the included audio tour. It is a very impressive ship especially if you consider it's age and how much it has been used in service of the royals and britain in general. The tea room is a delighted half way location to eat some lunch/snacka and enjoy the view.
We visited as a family on our recent trip to Edinburgh. An easy bus journey from the city. We had fun exploring the boat and found the audio tour (which is included) very informative. The staff were super friendly and helpful. My children also enjoyed it as I have a boat fan and a royal/history fan. We took a toddler in a buggy and the whole boat was accessible. We had tea and scones in the deck restaurant and the menu is well priced. The scones were beautiful. We spent the morning there.
This place is 5-star in every sense. The service provided by Jason, always attentive to us and super friendly. The food is spectacular, very well-seasoned, I like that a lot, and the location is privileged. I would not only return, but I will also recommend it to all my friends visiting Edinburgh.
It is a fascinating glimpse into the opulent world of British royalty while providing visitors with an unforgettable maritime experience. Moored in the historic port of Leith in Edinburgh, this iconic vessel served as the floating residence for Her Majesty The Queen and the Royal Family for over 40 years, traveling over a million nautical miles to become one of the most famous ships in the world. Stepping on board the Royal Yacht Britannia is like stepping back in time to an era of elegance and grandeur. From the moment you set foot on the polished decks, you're immersed in the splendor and luxury that once graced this majestic vessel. The meticulously preserved interiors, adorned with fine furnishings, intricate woodwork, and royal memorabilia, offer a rare glimpse into the private lives of the British monarchy. The self-guided audio tour provides an engaging narrative, allowing visitors to explore the yacht at their own pace while learning about its storied history and the countless dignitaries, celebrities, and world leaders who once walked its hallowed halls. Highlights of the tour include the State Apartments, the Royal Bedrooms, the Crew's Quarters, and the gleaming Engine Room, each offering unique insights into life on board the Britannia.
An amazing attraction to visit. Well worth the entry fee. So much to see and find out about. The audio tour gives so much information which helps to understand the different areas of the yacht.
Spotting the stuffed toy corgis keeps the children entertained and they get a badge at the end. Staff are very knowledgeable about the yacht and passionate about sharing stories of it's history.
Would definitely recommend a visit.

I did not have the time to visit inside the church, but you do have a great view around. It is also a bit creepy with the dark sky as it still remains a cemetery.

Schöner kostenloser Friedhof mit vielen Sehenswürdigkeiten die ein Harry Potter Herz zum schlagen bringt!
Unquestionably one of the best meals I've ever eaten. Contacted the restaurant with a couple of weeks notice to see if they could do a vegan menu and what they did was incredible. Probably one of the best things I've ever eaten was the pasta dish with morels. The tasting menu and the wine pairings are just on another level. This is for a really special occasion and the staff were wonderful. Thank you so much!
We went to celebrate an anniversary. We enjoyed the tasting menu for dinner and it was excellent! Stand out aspects were the beetroot horseradish macaron, halibut ceviche, Orkney scallop with caviar. The staff are knowledgeable, attentive and friendly. The decor is elegant and understated. It was a wonderful experience and we will be back. Highly recommended!!!!
A visit to the Royal Yacht Britannia is by far and away the best tourist attraction we have experienced anywhere on our travels to date. Many reasons support this claim including the ease of getting to the Yacht by public transport (we went by tram from Princes St - around £7 for 2 of us return.
Every one of the staff were friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and obviously passionate about being a part of an attraction of historical significance.
Access throughout the yacht was almost unprecedented with the walls of many rooms replaced by glass full a full view. The audio guides were easy to use and the narrative was interesting and engaging unlike other guides I have used. On more than one occasion, a very knowledgeable member of the team stopped to talk about little known aspects of life on board and interesting stories.
We were able to view a huge amount of the yacht across all decks and didn’t feel pushed to get through in a set time. We broke up the visit with an excellent afternoon tea in tearooms on board, well worth a visit. (Make sure you get to tearooms before 3:30pm).
We took around 2.5 hours and felt like we’d got value for money although I could have easily doubled the time as there is so much to see, and there was no pressure to move through too fast.
There is a great store at the end with some really great products, and the sales staff were very friendly and helpful.
I would recommend seeing the recent documentary on the Yacht before going as it will add more value to your visit.

Visiting the Yacht is a must if going to Edinburgh!
Had an amazing SkyBrunch, great views and plenty of good food. Didn't realise it was 2 cocktails per person! Thank you to Jacob who made our Brunch really great!
Howies in Edinburgh is a haven for those seeking an authentic taste of Scottish tradition. My visit there was a delightful immersion into Edinburgh's rich heritage, highlighted by their soul-warming Cullen Skink. Each spoonful of this traditional Scottish soup felt like a journey through time, embracing the essence of local cuisine with its hearty flavours and comforting warmth.

Exploring further, the Beetroot Salad at Howies was a pleasant surprise—a vibrant celebration of earthy flavours and textures. The medley of fresh produce was beautifully showcased, creating a colourful and delicious plate that perfectly captured the essence of seasonal ingredients.

The dedication to showcasing authentic Scottish dishes and the celebration of fresh, locally sourced produce at Howies made for an exceptional dining experience, truly reflecting Edinburgh's culinary heritage.
Niamh and all the other staff were the best, excellent food and wine served in a beautiful setting with a lovely atmosphere, will definitely visit again.
Thank you for an amazing evening with superb food xx
Maybe this is an unfair rating, but it's not at all what was advertised to us for Hogmanay. The music/DJ was too loud to chat with others, there wasn't enough seating, and it was essentially had a club scene - which again is fine, but not how this evening was advertised. Very disappointed in the organizers. Despite having paid, we left after 20 minutes and celebrated elsewhere.
We had our Christmas Night Out here on Saturday. The food was below the standards I expected for the price, the wine choice is not ideal and massively overpriced. The DJ was not great, even a little standoffish at times. We had fun together, in spite of the subpar surroundings.
A gorgeous menu with tasting option and market option.
We had the market option which was delicious. We accompanied the meal with a glass of red and the cheese course with a glass of tawney port.
The only thing to bring down the total scores was the plastic table decorations, they may last longer than real plants but they just don't cut the mustard in today's environmental conditions.
I had the 3-course lunch menu. Taste was phenomenal. The dishes were designed in a choreographed way, whichever starter or main you have chosen. Portion was just right for lunch, although I would love to have one more bite (when it was this good). Cocktail selection was wonderful, too. This is the sort of restaurant to come across my mind every time I want to eat out in Edinburgh.
It's my second time here, and I absolutely love the place. The overall experience is great. Love the food. Even though I was looking forward to lobsters but they changed their menu every 3 months 😋.
A must try restaurant in Edinburgh! The service was great, and really appreciated the recommendations from the waiter, especially as a vegetarian. The celeriac steak was amazing, and so was the sticky toffee pudding! The dinner deal before 6:30pm is definitely worth it, but make sure to book in advance.
Fine dining but not much else.

As the first in the restaurant, it was nice having the place to myself in the corner for the first several minutes enjoying the quiet. Quickly the entire room filled up with reservations and the normal chatter of a restaurant filled the air.

Ordering the tasting menu I expected to be given a rundown of ingredients and locations with each dish but sadly was not. A simple repeat of the ingredients in each dish as it was set down and that was it. The dishes were delicious, make no mistake. I left satisfied but not full, the tasting menu included dessert and a cheese plate was added in as well. Two glasses of wine to pair with the dishes.

The staff were quick about and courteous, clearing plates, placing new cutlery, filling water glasses and cleaning wine glasses. Again, I did expect more description and sourcing of the dishes.

Seated at noon I left by 2:30, a solid lunch.
Overall it was a nice experience but left me wanting more. Sadly didn't have the same impact as a similar restaurant down the street did upon first visit.
had a great time here for the fringe! david the usher was particularly lovely, especially liked his glorious ginger locks xoxo

Staff were amazing however for someone who is disabled this theatre is awful. As it was an old church there is no lift and no facilities for disabled people. Had to walk up two flights of stairs to get to the stage needed. No assistance from any staff except that I should carry my Mother on my back.

Regular comedy in the basement, acts vary but a good time assured. Drink is expensive though as you’d expect. Small tables with decent seating around them. A house band to play music.
What a great comedy session. 3 fantastic stand ups and a switched on MC make for a laugh a minute evening. If you want a smile on your dial head to the Rose Theatre Comedy Club.
Perfekt zubereitetes Essen, Bedienung perfekt, komplett nettes Team alles hervorragend danke
