Amazing place, kids can play and see many animals. The personnel has been super friendly
A must see in Berlin. With the audio guide, you’ll just hop on the time machine and have a journey to Pergamon. My first visit to this museum was as a tourist and the second time for the crime - archeology- mythology book , which takes place in Berlin with flashbacks to Pergamon.

This is an excellent free museum dedicated to life in east Berlin. Worth the trip up. Happily spent a couple of hours here. Would recommend over the DDR museum. Pick up the audio tour tour to fully get value from the exhibition. If you have a phone and earphones you can do it over their free WiFi.

De prime abord, on pourrait croire que le musée n'est pas très grand, mais il y a tellement d'élément interactive de partout qu'on se retrouve à y passer des heures (3h pour ma part).
Le musée est super complet, il y a une introduction historique dans un premier temps pour ceux qui n'ont plus trop les bases et ensuite on rentre dans le vif du sujet, tout y passe (le sport, les associations, les transports, la police politique, les écoles...). La dernière partie du musée est très immersive, on se retrouve dans une simulation d'une maison typique de la RDA avec comme dans le reste du musée plein d'activité interactive (quizz, test de tenue, émission télé, musique de l'époque).
Pour ma part c'est un passage obligé quand on passe quelques jours à Berlin !!

Don’t waste your time. The main exhibit is closed for several YEARS. I’m not even sure how that’s possible. They had 2 smaller exhibits going but you still have to pay full price. I’ve gone twice in the space of two months hoping the main exhibit would be open but was disappointed to find that it won’t be opening any time soon. Both times I saw tens of people entering and leaving after they found out about the main exhibition being closed.
Muss man einfach bei einem Berlin Besuch vorbei schauen, sehr gut aufgearbeitet und verständlich dargestellt

Visited the Museum last weekend and had an incredible experience! It offers a fascinating journey through Germany's film history. Each part is thoughtfully curated, showcasing a wide array of artifacts, from vintage film equipment to iconic costumes. Highly recommend for film enthusiasts and history buffs!
Immersive museum, it was so cool to stand on the top of view platform and see how's light changes between day and night.
Also there are audio guides on different languages.

Great experience. The Panorama gives at least a glimpse of the glory of the Pergamon Museum and exceeded my expectations by far. The tower with the surrounding 360° installation is beautiful. The real treasure are the displayed fragments of statues and fries of the Pergamon temple.
Plan at least an hour for a tour through the museum. You won't regret the visit.

Langweilige Aneinanderreihung von Monitoren. Zudem verliert man schnell den Überblick.
Vorsicht: viele der Beschreibungen und die Mehrzahl der Bilder hier drehen sich um die East Side Gallery, also die Mauer mit Kunstwerken, die man sich draußen umsonst anschauen kann. Hier geht es aber um das Mauermuseum, welches Eintritt kostet und sich im zweiten Stockwerk des Pirates Restaurant Berlin befindet!

Wonderful place, creative and inspired, and insightful both to the newly initiated and the highly knowledgeable. Amazing to see up close Germany's essential contributions to the advancement of film! And lovely that entrance is free if you're accredited for the Berlinale. Downstairs shop has an incredibly riveting selection of films, books, music and goodies. Always looking forward to incorporating this to each and every visit to Berlin!
Ich war sehr enttäuscht. Die Ausstellung im Museum ist konzeptionslos: Sie besteht fast nur aus Bildschirmen, ca. 15 pro Raum, die in schlechter Qualität Videos abspielen, vollkommen durcheinander und mehrere zugleich. Da kann ich mir auch YouTube Videos anschauen. Als Besucher*in verliert man den Überblick. Ich frage mich, wer diese Ausstellung konzipiert hat, über die Website ist dies nicht ersichtlich. Nach meiner Meinung haben die Macher*innen keine museumspädagogische Fachkompetenz. Die Ausstellung muss von Grund auf neu gemacht werden. Ich frage mich, wie die positiven Bewertungen zustande kommen???🤦♀️
Ciekawy powrót do przeszłości. Mieszkanie, przedszkole, rzeczy codziennego użytku…. pamiętam i widzę oczami dziecka. Dodatkowo trudna historia podzielonych Niemiec. Dawka wiedzy pokazana w ciekawy i jakże obrazowy sposób. Ilość zdjęć, dokumentów…wszystko na plus. Muzeum godne polecenia.

Zuerst dachte ich „cool“, die Ernüchterung kam dann aber relativ schnell, nachdem ich festgestellt hab, dass das meiste einfach nur Monitor Bildschirme sind, wo etwas abläuft. Nicht mal 15 Minuten war ich schon fertig, da das meiste überhaupt mich nicht angesprochen hat. Außerdem hängen bei fast jedem Monitor die Kabel kreuz und Quer rum, es macht einfach keinen schönen Anblick. Wenn man kein Student ist, lohnt sich der Preis tatsächlich nicht für die Leistung, die man hält.
Das Museum befindet sich im zweiten Stock eines Hauses, dass direkt an die Eastside Galerie grent. Es sind überall Bildschirme aufgehangen, wo man original Videos des Mauerfalls sieht.
Für meine siebenjährige Tochter war das alles noch zu komplex und zu verwirrend aufgebaut. Somit waren wir schon nach 20 Minuten einmal durch. Wenn man sich jetzt alles durchlesen würde und sich alles angucken würde, schätze ich es auf 45 Minuten für einen Durchlauf. Die Leute, die dort arbeiten, sind wirklich nett. Es gibt einen kleinen Merchandise Store .

DDR museum with free entrance. Intresting daily life objects, scenes, photos and intallations. You feel a bit lost while visiting, would have been more Info about the routes.
9 Euros entrance fee for the adults, free for the childeren. You start your tour from the third floor, if you stuck on the details much in the beginning you might become tired till the end. Save your energy for Metropolis and Marlene Ditrich sessions.
Sehr informativ hier, man sollte genug Zeit und Interesse mitbringen. Der Eintritt ist frei. Vom Bahnhof Potsdamer Platz fußläufig zu erreichen. Der Weg zum Zentrum ist ausgeschildert.
I went on free museum Sunday, an awesome opportunity! I went to two exhibits, one that gave a really comprehensive timeline of Germany. I was a little confused on how to walk through the exhibit but it was still really interesting. Even though there were a lot of people it was designed so that it was easy to read the information and see the whole exhibit.
The other exhibit was about a German poet and songwriter. Also really interesting, with a lot of details about the events and lots of neat things to look at and listen to.
One of the best things about this museum was the effort to make it more accessible. There were some booths with raised areas so you could feel artwork, and a lot of the exhibit could be read or listened to, and I believe much of it was available in Braille as well.

Unverzichtbarer Geschichtsort für alle - besonders auch Berlin-Reisende. Must see for everyone.
Most of the displays include English explanations. A lot of short videos with English subtitles explaining what daily life was like in Russian controlled Germany. A very nice museum that will only take you about an hour to see everything.
An outstanding experience! Despite the Pergamon Museum's closure, The Panorama exhibit exceeded my expectations. The 360-degree audiovisual show is truly amazing, offering a unique perspective on ancient Pergamon. It's a fantastic alternative, lasting between 45 minutes to 1.5 hours. The digital reconstruction of the city, complete with sounds and light effects, takes you from day to night seamlessly. The attention to historical accuracy and detail is commendable. Standing at 35 meters, the panoramic view of the ancient city is accompanied by captivating sound and light effects. If you appreciate works by Assisi, this depiction of ancient Pergamon is a must-see. The experience feels like being part of history, and the portrayal of daily life adds an extra layer of enjoyment. Highly recommended – don't miss out on this unique journey!
Much larger in real life than you can imagine. To think this wall divided a whole city in two for 30 years in unbelievable.
This is the main part or "east side gallery" but other parts of the wall are still standing further along down the city. Some of them without any graffiti.
Interesting artwork designed on a lot of it. But I would recommend seeing it from the west side (opposite side to where the road is) for a better viewing angle.

We had been emailing then to make sure they where open the 31th of December and got told yes. We bought tickets in advance.
But when arriving it was closed.

A nice little museum with interesting insight into life in the GDR.
Just a few rooms, however with good exhibits, that you can cover in less than an hour. Not overwhelming and for free!

Museum gaat dicht voor verbouwing, geen kaarten meer bestelbaar. Jammer, was er jaren geleden en prachtige collectie. Vooral Midden-Oosten.
Gelukkig zijn er op het museumeiland voldoende alternatieven, waaronder het (vaak) gratis Humboldt Forum in het opmerkelijk verbouwde ehemalige paleis.

Le plus incroyable des musées d'archéologie. Une scénographie grandiose.
Auf dem Außengelände treffen symbolisch auf einen Blick zwei Diktaturen aufeinander, die Deutschland über Jahrzehnte geprägt haben. Der Blick auf den Keller zeigt das ehemalige "Hausgefängnis" der Gestapo aus dem Dritten Reich und darüber ist die Mauer zu sehen, die die Menschen in Ostberlin 28 Jahre die Freiheit geraubt hat.
Kostenlose Ausstellung, sehr interessant und gut aufgearbeitet, kostenlose Führungen in Englisch und Deutsch
Respekt für diese Ausstellung. Hier wird dieser irre Wahnsinn der NS Zeit aufgearbeitet. Das sollte ein MUSS für jeden Deutschen und oder Menschen sein, damit so etwas nie wieder passiert. Und da braucht man auch nicht viel Hirn, um zu verstehen was Nationalismus und Diktatur anrichten kann. Also geht hin, kostet auch nix. Da sind mal die Steuergelder mit viel Verstand ausgegeben worden.
Zeker enkele dagen/weken op voorhand je tijdslot reserveren. Mooi museum met pragmatische stukken kunst uit het oude Iran en Turkije.

In het hoogseizoen zijn er tijdslots, hou er rekening mee, wij konden pas 2 dagen later naar binnen. Verder fantastisch, vooral Babylon en Milete gedeeltes. Maar voorlopig is het jaren dicht ivm verbouwing.
Les collections sont riches et très belles. Mais les conditions de visite sont bien en deçà du prestige du lieu : peu ou pas de climatisation, j’ai dû sortir pour ne pas faire un malaise… dommage

C'est un musée spectaculaire, on est habitué à voir des petits objets dans les musées. Ici ce sont des édifices complets qui sont reconstitués. Ça vaut vraiment une visite. Attention, le musée est souvent complet en saison, il faut penser à réserver.
Quand Babylone ouvre sa porte, vous ne réalisez pas tout de suite que vous êtes tout petit face à cette histoire de civilisation disparue ! Respirez un bon coup et tenez votre émotion quand vos larmes inonderont vos yeux. Ho Dieu ! que c'est beau, my god 😭
Gut, dass es ein kleines Museum gegen das Vergessen gibt...Genscher war Herzkrank und führte ständig einen Defibrillator mit während er verhandelte...ich wusste das nicht
Indrukwekkend grote objecten. Prachtig belicht. Bezoekers komen binnen in tijdslotten dus een kaartje vooraf kopen online is aan te raden. Zelf zijn we eerst bij het neues museum geweest en hebben daar een kaart gehaalt waarmee je naar alle musea kan (als je naar 2 musea wilt gaan ben je hier al goedkoper mee uit). Hierbij hebben we ook een kaartje met tijdslot voor het pergamon museum gekregen. Dus tot het tijdslot zijn we door de andere musea gegaan, daarna konden we hier zo naar binnen. Mensen zonder kaartje moesten 3 uur wachten op het volgend mogelijk tijdslot stond op de deur.

Aufgrund der Webseite wurden wir animiert, dass „The Wall Museum“ an der East Side Gallery in Berlin zu besuchen. Das Museum befindet sich in der 2.Etage im ehemaligen Mühlenspeicher. Einen Fahrstuhl oder ähnliches haben wir nicht gefunden. Also für Rollstuhlfahrer oder Gehbehinderte ist der Zugang schwer- bzw.. unmöglich 👎! Der Eintrittspreis mit 12,50€ ist meines Erachtens ziemlich hoch! Was bekommt man dafür geboten? Wenig Exponate aus DDR Zeiten, aber viele Ton- und Bilddokumente! Die Qualität ist stark verbesserungswürdig. Hier bedarf es einer dringenden Nachbearbeitung.
Auch wirkt das gesamte Museum ziemlich chaotisch. Wir haben das Museum nach 30 Minuten verlassen und waren um eine Erfahrung reicher.

Absolut sehenswert und der Eintritt kostet nichts.
Man kann sehr viel über die Zeit an der Zeitleiste erfahren und bekommt Schritt für Schritt erklärt wie es damals war und wie es alles genau abgelaufen ist.
Auch das Stück Mauer zu sehen war beeindruckend und bedrückend zugleich.

Zeer indrukwekkend museum, zowel door de grote bouwwerken als de zeer uitgebreide collectie kleine en minder grote vondsten.
Het was een visuele reis door de geschiedenis van Iran tot aan Turkije met als topstuk de istharpoort van het oude Babylon en dan door naar een imposant Romeinse marktplaats.
Prachtig museum veel mooie dingen te bewonderen, indrukwekkende poort van isjtar uit Babylon.... jammer dat door verbouwing helft niet te bezoeken was. .ga zeker nog een keer terug
Lieu tout simplement incroyable ! Nous y sommes allé en hiver donc il n'y avait pas beaucoup de monde. Les portes sont superbe, et les audio-guide sont traduit en français ce qui est très pratique. Quitte à faire un musée, celui-ci est de loins mon favoris, et je le recommande sans hésiter.

Von 9.30 bis 14 Uhr kann man Brunchen. Für 18.50 € ohne Getränke. Ist aber sein Geld wert. Hatten ein sehr schönen Platz. Reservieren auf jeden Fall. Ein Vorteil bei mir mein Sohn arbeitet dort in Küche.

The interactive museum tries to give you a sense of living in East Germany during the cold war under great surveillance. Driving in the roads, the products used, what happened in work offices, homes and streets. The most interesting part for me was the room in which you could listen to the life of others, in fact the most scary part. Another thing was the coffee people used at that time; mixture of coffee beans (51%) with barley and rye as most residents of East German couldn't afford pure coffee.

Wat een fantastisch museum, het bezoeken zeker waard. Mocht ik terugkomen in Berlijn dan ga ik dit museum nogmaals bezoeken maar dan met audiotour. Als ik iets moet noemen wat minder fijn is dat zijn het de vele klassen/scholen die tegelijkertijd het museum bezoeken. Dit heb je in alle musea. Kinderen zijn luid en vaak ongeïnteresseerd.
