I was only able to see the three ships due to external time constraints (not the fault of the museum) but even the three ships were worth it. Very well maintained, lots of interesting historical information, and the people working there (especially on the stream ship) were very helpful and knowledgeable.
Went with a trip. It was a somewhat interesting display, though the audio guide was really quite uninteresting. The writing on the displays was interesting however, and I enjoyed learning more about a synagogue. You can go into a normal one but you don't tend to learn about the meaning of everything in there, but you can in here
Wish I had more time to explore. Such an interesting museum. I recommend the North area (boat) and the East side, Floor 1 (particularly the map/cartography room)
Definitely worth a visit but the best part is the old Portuguese synagogue across the street. The synagogue is closed to visitors on Saturday. The synagogue is still only lit by candles.

Much more intetesting than I expected, with old nautical instruments, old maps and ships ornaments. You xan also visit the ship in front of it. Have a coffee in the inner court, it's a beautiful relaxing place, designed as a compass.

If you love history and want to learn/see something about Dutch navy, ships, this will be perfect place for you. You have inside museum but also you can have outside look. Inside you have more floors and all is made very nice.I think museum is family friendly and they also have part for kids. Personally I am not big fun of this type of museums but it was nice to see something different.
Very well put together story of the community past, in the war period and present. A lovely surprise as you step up into the shul from below.

This was my favorite museum that we visited in Amsterdam, especially after the crowds at the Van Gogh and Rijksmuseum. It would be easy to be intimidated by the size of the building and the ship outside, but we found the space manageable to peruse in about 2.5 hours. I deeply appreciated the museum's reckoning with the atrocities of Dutch colonialism, though at times the effects were mentioned but not sufficiently explored. I loved the almost free rein we had to explore the Amsterdam ship reconstruction, especially the opportunity to see the engineering behind the rudder. It's a really great space overall and I anticipate visiting again on my next visit to the city.
The National Maritime Museum in Amsterdam, Netherlands was a real treat. There was so much to see. The museum is well laid out and fun to tour through.

The display of ship's mastheads was impressive and interesting to view. The very large and detailed model ships were magnificent. The atrium in the center of the museum is very large and inviting. It is a great place to take a break and relax.
This is one museum you don't want to miss when you are in Amsterdam. It has something of the entire family.

Me encanto!! Es una visita necesaria
Museo bastante interesante , uno de los grandes atractivos de esta ciudad es la prostitución sin censura y este museo nos cuenta un poco la historia y nos lleva hasta el presente con diferentes imágenes , desde dibujos hasta esculturas tanto modernas con interacción de audio hasta las mas clásicas . La verdad que lo recomiendo mucho ,en absoluto me parece una tontearía, personalmente esperaba menos y me sorprendió.
No recomiendo este lugar para una persona de movilidad reducida , hay varias escaleras y escalones y los pasillos son un poco estrechos .

18 euros pour si peu d'œuvres disponibles. C'est malhonnête. Audio guide qui ne fonctionne que pour la moitié des bornes. Une Histoire qui ne commence qu'au 16e siècle. À croire que cette ville et ces terres n'ont que "ça" comme histoire ...

Musée passionnant et très riche. On peut y rester des heures sans s'ennuyer.
Excellent Jewish museum that really explains the Jews and Amsterdam throughout the ages. This museum does not focus on WW2, although it is a small part of it. Also, a must see is the beautiful Portuguese Synagogue located across the street from the museum. The Synagogue is still in use today, but you can visit and explore its treasures when it's not in use for services.
Amazing customer service.
We had free hour and accidentally dropped by.
Well worth a visit especially if interested maritime history allow 2hours.

quelle déception ! La collection permanente est très peu fournie, 4 ou 5 tableaux par siècle (pas assez de recul pour observer les grandes toiles et un mauvais éclairage avec des reflets partout) et surtout rien sur la construction de la ville ! On est dans le musée d’Amsterdam et on ne voit jamais l’évolution de la construction des canaux, des maisons, en fait on ne sait pas plus sur la ville en sortant du musée. 18 €/personne c’est beaucoup, beaucoup trop cher. N’y aller pas ..

Der Preis ist ok, gemessen an allen anderen Museumspreisen in der Stadt.
Wir können das Museum nur empfehlen.

Very interesting, extremely well documented.
The Maritime Museum has amazing art and history of the Dutch navy. The old naval storehouse is a nice touch. But the museum is not kids proof as advertised. It lacks fun, interactive, and convenient features for children and families. Good for adults who love art and history. 3 stars.
Der Preis war für zwei Erwachsenen ca 9,50 gewesen. Ich finde das angemessen , das Museum ist spooky eingerichtet mit den ganzen Foltermethoden. Es war total interessant gewesen ! Klare Empfehlung.
I didn’t feel there was a clear theme and move in chronological order although that’s what they tried. The Jewish museums in the states are more robust maybe they should take help from there. I loved the gift shop, good collection. Maybe that’s the feeling I get because I was at the synagogue the same day
Vraiment dessus par ce musée. Je m'attendais à bien mieux. Vous aires l'histoire d'amsterdam mais les points les plus importants ne sont pas abordés et cette partie est très courte. Tout entassés dans un coin. Ensuite d'autres expositions qui n'ont rien à voir et pas vraiment intéressantes. De grands couloirs complètement vide ou... il n'y a rien à faire mais accessible 🤷♂️ Audio guide en français et gratuit mais la moitié était en anglais 🤷♂️
9 euros la entrada. Vale la pena como experiencia. Muchas cosas interesantes. Se recomienda una ruta pero puedes recorrerlo libremente. hay escaleras.

Tout d'abord n'hesitez à reserver à l'avance, surtout pour des musés comme "Rembrandt". Comme toute ville d'art, les touristes sont très nombreux et les places rapidement epuisées.
Et le must, c'est d'y aller le matin, beaucoup moins de monde.
Donc a defaut de place au "Rembrandt", nous sommes alléau musé Stedelijk en fin de matinèe.
Le top, peu de monde, et un très vaste et très beau musé ! De nombreuse ouvres, de nombreux styles, et pas uniquement des tableaux, qui vous permettent de sillonner les siecles pour le plus grand plaisir des sens. Il y en a pour tous les goûts. Plus de 2h30 sans s'en rendre compte à fureter à travers les dedales de ce magnifique bâtiment.

A mi me encanta. He ido 2 veces porque la verdad que te meas de risa con las cosas que hay. La entrada son 9€ y merece la pena si te gusta el tema y quieres aprender desde todo el respeto la historia del sexo y entender esta práctica tan nuestra. La decoración es increíble y no te cansas. Hasta el baño está decorado con temática. 10/10.
Unser Besuch war sehr unkompliziert umsetzbar. Die Eintrittskarten haben wir vor Ort ohne Wartezeit gekauft und konnten sofort mit dem Rundgang beginnen (Ankunft ca. 19:00 Uhr). Durch die langen Öffnungszeiten konnten wir unseren Besuch flexibel in unseren Tag integrieren. Der Rundgang selbst war der Thematik entsprechend gestaltet und die einzelnen Foltermethoden wurden in verschiedenen Sprachen erklärt. Zusätzlich hat man dazu verschiedene Illustrationen aufgehängt. Der Rundgang führt durch schmale Flure und über mehrerer Treppen, die für die Niederlande typisch steil sind. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis war mit 9,50 €/Person in Ordnung. Klare Empfehlung für alle, die an sowas interessiert sind und noch nicht gesehen haben.
Du fait des travaux dans le musée, il n’y a que qq œuvres rassemblées dans un hall du Musée Hermitage, le plus souvent avec très peu d’explications et pa sled œuvres les plus intéressantes. Et qui ne retracent même pas l’histoire de la ville.
Bref pour 18€, cela ne vaut pas le coup. Bien d’autres choses à voir à Amsterdam en attendant la réouverture du musée.

Le nom de la ville d'Amsterdam vient de l'ancien nom néerlandais Amstelredamme qui évoque les origines de la ville : la digue (Dam) sur l'Amstel.
Au XII siècle c'était un village de pêcheurs mais il connaît une forte croissance jusqu'à devenir l'un des principaux ports du Monde.
Ville très agréable à visiter, soit à pieds, soit à vélo, sans oublier un passage par le marché aux fleurs.

Muy entretenido. 9€ la entrada. Te aseguras un rato divertido. Son 4 pisos, de autómatas, fotografías y obras de artes eróticas. Sorprendente. Yo lo recomiendo después de ver los otros sesudos museos. No apto para remilgados. Todo explicito

Es kommt aber alles sehr billig rüber.
Es ist zu dunkel und zu eng.
Die Sauberkeit hält sich auch in Grenzen.
Der junge Mann am Ticketschalter war auch nicht gerade motiviert und verkaufte uns die Tickets während er mir seinem Handy beschäftigt war.

An der Wand hängen Tafeln mit "Erklärungen" in verschiedenen Sprachen und dazu kann man sich das Folter Instrument ansehen.
Hat mich persönlich nur zum Teil interessiert!

Ließt man noch die anderen unnötigen Tafeln zieht es sich auf 20-25 min

Une excellente introduction pour découvrir l'histoire de la ville et ses valeurs qui en font un lieu unique: tolérance, ouverture multi- culturelle, ouverture aux autres, sens du commerce... vidéos très bien faites pour les commentaires. Exposition temporaire sur la mode intéressante. Seul bémol, j'étais un peu perdu dans ce labyrinthe de couloirs et de salles.
El museo no está mal para los 5€ que vale, pero tampoco tiene gran cosa. Muy interesante las fotografías pornograficas de los 60-70. Tiene algunas escenas recreadas muy divertidas y entretenidas. Lo recomiendo porque es barato y echas un buen ratito. Los wc son para verlos.
Nichts für Menschen die sich mit Treppen schwer tun. Man hat genug Zeit sich alles durchzulesen und anzuschauen. Auch toll das man viele Sachen anfassen darf.
