We were searching for places to visit during our trip to Bologna and ended up in this place. It sounded like a very interesting concept, of savaging a plane wreck from the bottom of the sea and reconstructing it.

But, after seeing the plane, learning about the events that led to its crash and how the memories of the passengers was honored through 81 breathing light bulbs and 81 black mirrors on the walls, with voices coming from behind them, we were simply blown away. They also have a small presentation video, that runs in a loop, for everyone to see how things went after the crash.

It's very sad to think of what happened and how the plane crashed. I think this museum is a eye-watering way of reminding everyone of the past and how everything can end in a blink of an eye.
Well organised displays, but very "busy". Nothing of special interest. Virtually no information in English. Even Italian descriptions are more for a specialist rather than a tourist.
"An excellent viewing experience! With its rich collection and enthusiastic explanations, every service and exhibit showcase first-rate cultural value. A treasure trove of a museum, I'm thrilled to have had the opportunity to visit!"
Excellent museum with a large collection of objects. Love the etruscan section with finds from graves in and around Bologna. Nicely displayed in old cabinets.
The entrance fee was €6, which I think is fair. Unfortunately, the museum is very old-fashioned, no storytelling, hardly any English descriptions. The aufioguide app for 2€ extra was bad. The Roman statues are almost all replicas. I expected more from the Bologna Archaeological Museum.
Worth to visit museum in Bologna. We really did love the courtyard. The architecture is breathtaking.
It is only memorial, do not expected anything else than a crashed plane and the projection of the documentary about the accident. The place is very creepy, because of the background voices and the lightening. The entrance is free. The memorial is placed in the former tram depo. There are still remaining rails outside.
