A very nice house to see with a fantastic garden.. Dogs are welcome on leash but not in the house, only garden.
Had a 3 day visit in Jedburgh. The visitor centre is a must visit with lots of facts and artifacts. The death mask is especially freaky. Free entry but gave a donation
A charming house with a lot of history. There is so much information about Mary and what she did, who she married and how she died, etc.
Small gift shop with some lovely items to buy. There is no charge to visit, but donations are welcome, and it's worth it.

Always a lovely place to view. Even when the elements are throwing themselves about. Nice cafe in the car park for a cuppa and a bacon butty.
Sure is a pretty place for an hour's walk round and would have been a 5 star review but only 4 because we couldn't get inside because of maintenance however prices are reduced to reflect this.
I will return to have a proper look round when you can visit inside the abbey.
Nice friendly staff and the audio tour is an absolute must as there's a lot of history to take in.

A very fine historic experience with a great audio guide and visitor center. The staff was super helpful and helped us a lot in deciding which membership to buy for all the Scottish sights. The only drawback is that you cannot enter the abbey due to structural integrity issues, but then they charge half price.
The gentleman who was on duty today was very informative and a lovely man.
I enjoyed wandering round today as we got a break in the rain. I'm sorry I couldn't access some of the areas a I love capturing where I've been. The inside of the Abbey would have made for amazing photos.

Car parking here is very limited to street parking if you can find it so best to park near Jedburgh Abbey as it's only a few minutes walk to here. Mary Queen Of Scots Visitor Centre is free so why not visit the Abbey as well which is half price due to some restrictions.
The house is a fabulous building set in a well presented walled garden.Very relaxing and suitable for a picnic. The tour of the house includes story boards to explain the history behind the building and you can see Mary Queen Of Scots death mask that shows what she looked like in good detail. You probably won't need more than hour so worth planning to visit Jedburgh Abbey and Jedburgh Castle Jail (free entry) both in easy walking distance although the road to the Jail is quite steep (it has it's own car park).
