This was truly one of the most interesting sites we visited in Budapest. This is a little out of the way, but that said very easy to get to and from; metro & bus ride away. We were given a guide book by the most friendly bus driver, but we would have purchased it and is well worth the money. The park has amazing Soviet history that comes alive with each step. It’s well maintained and a great place to remove yourself from the crowds. Highlight of our visit.

A very beautiful large park not to miss especially on a National Holiday (I went on Labor Day - May 1) where it was full of people and food kiosks and amusements everywhere. I had a great afternoon.
We visited the zoo on a weekday, the ticket price was very reasonable. We bought the tickets from the kiosk at the zoo, however there are self-service points that you can purchase tickets from. We arrived when it opened at 9am and left around 4pm. We completed the whole zoo so you should allow enough time provided you want to explore all. There were a variety of activities you could see throughout the day such as watching the elephants train or the penguins having breakfast. There were food kiosks throughout, but it seemed these had some very long queues, so we preferred to buy snacks, rather than have a meal. I would definitely recommend the zoo to everyone visiting Budapest!
A nice green space in Budapest city to walk, run and/or enjoy a quiet moment.
Except few areas, there are not many benches. The other very annoying thing is the public toilets which doesn’t exist.

Quiet a historic place that you should visit in my opinion
We spent around 90 minutes in the park, reading the guide book along with watching the statues. The story is very interesting, you can get to know how the communism was working in Hungary back in the days. The guy at the entrance was super kind.

Very impressive and moving art work. Definitely worth to be visited but it’s also helpful to read about the history of world war and what happened to people in Budapest then it will be even more touching
A beautiful castle with a gorgeous landscape and view from the top. However the scaffolding and general building works do spoil the ambience as all you hear is drilling, and having to navigate round gates etc is a bit of a dull note.
I’m sure once all building is done it will be even lovelier. Just a shame about the noise. We didn’t bother walking round because of the building word either.
If you would like a good view of the city this is the place(or even fisherman’s Bastion).
Would recommend the gardens though! Those are gorgeous!

Vajdahunyad Castle in Budapest is scenographic, transporting visitors to a fairytale world with its enchanting architecture and picturesque surroundings. Entrance to the castle is on payment but you can visit external green area for free. It is located just behind Heroes Square so don’t miss this place during your visit in Budapest.
A pleasant way to spend a few hours. Recommend a private change room. The indoor pools are also basically the same (i.e. they aren't different temperatures).

Easy to get to using M1 metro. It's a great big park with lots of different types of attractions. Hero square is stunning. Also the spa in the park was, awesome. Spent the day there andeally enjoyed it
We spent interesting day in Budapest Zoo. We saw a lot beautiful animals. However minus goes for closed playground facilities. There was a beautiful slide that is not in use. My recomendation is also to watch your steps because there is a lot holes on paths. My wife injured her ankle. Beside that, we had a great time.
A beautiful, well organized zoo with plenty to see and explore! You should expect to spend around 5 hours here, if you want to see everything, but you have plenty of refreshment options on location. Perfect for any age groups!
This castle is a late 19th century copy of an older castle, but it is still worth visiting. You cannot enter anything without paying, and they charge a lot for what it's worth, so minus one star.
The only thing worth visiting is the church, not much to see but still interesting and only 1.5 euros.

Buda castle is one of the tourist attractions in Budapest. Very beautiful very big and inside the castle there are some museums on tickets.
River and bridge view is amazing.
Also there is rope way for physically challenged people.
There are some restaurants and night view is amazing.

Here is the city park such a huge park vivid green, very big park. There are many amusements and big place for yoga, running, playing for kids and so on.
Best place to visit with family and friends.

A tear is definitely brought to your eye when you realize the trauma and fear of the persecuted people being chase into the river and being shot at by the soldiers, this type of brutality appear to still exit in our modern society in the Middle East.
It’s very big and beautiful. There are a lot of people walking around, taking pictures, enjoying their coffee. It’s very peaceful.
A beautiful spacious park, a lot of charming paths, vivid greens, amazing statues. A perfect place to stroll with your family, friends, or enjoy it solo. Don't rush, take your time to explore every corner and many lovely details.
Mememto Park is definitely worth visiting. We chose the Trabant Tour with guide (because we are car nerds) and were picked up and dropped off at our flat. Our Trabant driver, and guide, Judit, was amazing. She made history come alive with her knowledge of Hungary's past and her passion for Mememto Park. We loved our ride in "Gina" the Trabant and hearing about the history of "Gina" (bought for $80 US and it was running!) plus all the quirky details of this historic vehicle. Overall great value, fun, and very informative.
Cool and very authentic place despite being a little more than 100 years old. Also has a nice restaurant built in. Very pleasant place to spend some time and take nice photos.
Despite the ongoing construction work, we were able to truly appreciate the authenticity of the place and the exceptional panorama of the city of Budapest and the Danube.
The parts that are open to visitors aren't as extensive as we'd have liked, which was a pity...

Honestly one of the best places we have been to!!
For a start, the price (compared to London zoo anyway) was amazing, both tickets and drinks while we were inside.
We all loved how close we were to the animals, we could almost touch some (obviously we wouldn't, as that's just asking to be bitten!) but unlike other places we've been to, none of the areas were overly packed, and we felt we got to see the animals instead of backs of heads!
At one point (my kids had gone to take a turn on the zip wire in the playground) I was the only one in with the giraffes, and I got some brilliant photos - they were totally posing for me!!
Everyone I've seen since we came home has already heard all about the zoo and been told they have to go there!!
Also, as someone with mobility issues, I found it really well laid out with plenty of benches and seats all around when I needed to take a break!

Beautiful buildings. The pool waters were wonderfully hot. You can get something to eat and drink by the outside pools. Very clean, plenty of locker spaces.
We went in March and I was not expecting to use the outside pools but they were lovely and warm so I didn't notice the chill in the air.

One of my favourite places in Budapest. Just been there to see the cherry blossoms. Absolutely breath taking. Seen The Mátyás church there very beautiful 😍. It's a very good place on the hill and very nicely maintained. You can go in the castle district by bus which is easily accessible. Don't forget to buy the tickets for public transport 😉!

Nice place to get a bird's eye view of Budapest city. A fun way to get up to the castle is by the trolley car but it's bit costly. Cheaper way is to take the regular castle bus. Great for architecture lovers, offers glimpses of the history of Budapest in the national gallery inside. You can go up to the top some..to get some spectacular views of the river and the city.
This site is very small, but it contains statues, bunker, videos and a small view. It's far away from the city center, but reachable with public transportation (101B, 101E, 150 buses). Overall it's ok, but only if you have the time to spare or are around the area.
Well worth the trip out of the middle of town and so easy to reach by public transport. Terrific, passionate staff to explain about the park and its context. Get the guidebook - it tells you so much. Fascinating visit for me as I had seen so many of these statues in their original homes in 1990!
It's a must see of course but the time we were there it had a lot of scaffolding and it was not much to see but still not regretting it. There is one thing we were quite annoyed by that every single additional thing you have to pay for-to visit the Matthias Church or just to walk up a few steps and have a bit more panoramic view as well as the tower before the royal castle had tickets to go up etc and that was not very pleasant as we already paid around €30 to get on the mini buses that drive around as it is nearly 5 km2 (1.8 sq mi). St Matthias church is something to remember though even only for its exterior. It's outstanding.
A great view of the city and the Danube River. Overall, there's a museum in the building which has a ticket if you want to enter. It is about a 10 minute climb from the bottom but there is the option of the castle bus or the funicular (which generally has a long line)
Staff was rude and screamed at guests for touching lemurs. There was no supervision and they aren't caged. We sat in the floor and they began playing with us. One dropped it's food and a guest picked it and the lady screamed at her to put the fruit down. She ruined the experience. I told her she should smile and learn more English words before jumping to ridiculous conclusions.
Also, it was very expensive because they did not give us the family of 6 discount.

We should've been told considering that only gave our family 1 hour to visit the zoo.

Incredibly moving artistic tribute to Jewish lives lost in WWII. It’s a bit off the main road but well worth the visit to pay your respects.

A great zoo, we spent about 2 hours there and saw most of the animals there. Tickets are not expensive and you can enjoy a beautiful afternoon. There are several shops and small restaurants inside so you do not have to worry about food or drinks during your visit. Beautiful place for kids as well as adults!
Дуже занедбаний зоопарк. Звірі повторюються. Або висить табличка на вол'єрі а самий звір знаходиться в іншому. Велика площа, тому сильно втомлюєшся. Зоопарк зовсім не контактний, навіть не можна погодувати тварин.
Beautiful monument but incredibly sad story. Bittersweet
The only negative thing is the excerpt from the book is in the original language, which means nothing unless you have google lens or you have made your research beforehand. Go there if you have liked reading the book.
It was an amazing experience. The castle lies in the city park, which houses a lot of other attractions also (like an ice rink in the winter). The castle has a combination of styles (mainly baroque and gothic). Inside is the biggest agricultural museum in Hungary and in Europe. The museum is very insightful in Hungarian culture, very worth visiting. At the time of my visit, there’s also a circus exhibition going on so all the more reasons to go. Tickets are at reasonable price. Really recommend🫶
It's a little far away but you can reach there easily by bus. Although the weather was verya cold, it was a worthy experience. It's the commemoration of Hungarians who sacrificed their lives to defend their rights. It's a very interesting visit, I think that this establishment should be supported. Entry fee with the student discount was 1800 HUF, which was quite affordable. Much recommended.
"Boys of the Pauls street" is one of my favorite books from childhood and one of the main reasons why I wanted to visit Budapest. It's a nice place. There was, unfortunately, a lot of trash around the monument and this was a big minus.
Beautiful laid out memorial for the holocaust victims in Budapest. The story is incredible sad and heart felt. One must visit the place of you are in Budapest. There’s no tickets to buy.
Very nice relaxed place with a view of danub river and parliament building infront and a memorandum of shoes for the jews who got killed by arrow cross party in 1944
Very beautiful scenery and castle.we went in November and there was a frozen lake outside making the views even more unique. There is also an ice skating park next to it if you are up for some fun. We entered for free and walked around the place, but we didn't go inside the castle. (I don't even know if you can go inside, we just strolled the block) but I see there are tickets for sale so I think you can visit the inside as well. It's definitely worth the visit as it is one of the most beautiful castles in budapest
Budapest has many different memorials dotted around the city but this one is very hard hitting, made the effort to go and see this particular sculpture and found it very emotional. Please read up on why it’s here before you see it and you will understand why.

How beautiful can this view be???? Like 100 percent worth seeing and visiting. We enjoyed the walk throughout and every bit of the night weather and lights surrounding the parliament overlooking the beautiful Danube River. This us from a new complete tourist so guys please ensure you ahve your cameras ready on night mode. It's not very crowded you can sit aside enjoy the view
