Free entrance interesting museum a lovely place to have a picnic and a lovely cafe all in one grounds.

I called into the cafe for a coffee. The cafe was very clean and tidy but only one person in. The coffee was hot and tasty, they were limited to coffee, tea and cold drinks only as they were doing work on cafe as it was being upgraded. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I would have given 5 stars if there had been a food choice
The Whitaker is a nice local museum which has had some investment/upgrades since the Pandemic. It has a lovely cafe with great views.
The museum itself has been updated as well and the exhibits are neatly presented. If you’ve taken the East Lancs Railway up, it’s worth the visit while you’re here

Shame they don't say when they have a private events! As you won't be allowed in or do any events they advertise!!
A great a place to visit for all ages.
This place boosts a museum, cafe/restaurant, bar, park, play area and a few open spaces/fields. Plenty of sitting outside and will definitely be visiting again when the sun's out and being able to relax/chill with a cold beer

Schattig kleine museum, rustig tuin om in te wandelen, restaurant en bar zagen good uit maar we hebben geen gebruik van gemaakt
