It was a lovely day so we had an amazing view!! I haven't been here since I was a child despite living in Bristol most of my life
Amazing views of the suspension bridge, Leigh woods and surrounding area
Lots of information regarding the suspension bridge and the observatory building
We also did the giants cave to the observation point in the cliffs. This is accessed from the observatory
Not for the faint hearted or anyone with limited mobility!! Very steep at points and low ceilings, but they do provide hard hats

Fantastic fun went around 30 years ago and when I went this time memories came flooding back. From the natural rock slide the observatory and the caves. Only thing I don’t remember was the height of caves being so low… but was about 4 foot tall then not 6.1 as I am now!!
I’m here for two weeks on a show. (01/04/24-14/04/2024). On our first day we were welcomed by and introduced to the whole staff, who were and have since been the most kind, welcoming and accommodating team.
The theatre space is a dream. Backstage is comfortable.
The theatre bar has some amazing IPAs on tap (and some cocktails that I’ve yet to sample). They also do amazing coffee here, and cakes. And again, the staff are amazing.
Also, they have a Pieminster, and oh my goodness it’s unreal. I’m a Veggie, I had some Goats Cheese and Red Onion And Sweet Potato affair and it was truly delicious.
I’ve still got a week left here and I’m going to be sad to leave.

Lovely cafe. Beautiful theatre. Fantastic architecture of new cafe linked to old building. Unisex and single sex toilets available. Friendly and helpful staff.
The observatory is beautiful with great views! Can see this place on a sunny day with friends would be a great spot! We did the giants cave. It was £3 each and I must say it should be £1! There wasn’t much to see apart from a very narrow slippy staircase to a view point which didn’t feel very safe! I’m only 5ft3 so didn’t have much struggle climbing up and down the stairs however my husband who is 6ft was practically bent over which I found hilarious! So if you’re tall and wanting to do the giants cave there’s your heads up! Luckily we were the only ones who were in the cave at the time as I wouldn’t know how we would even pass someone on those stairs! Very narrow staircase! If you’re claustrophobic I probably wouldn’t do this!
Great old theatre. First visit and definitely will return. Lots of history and a fab space. Gorgeous pie and mash before the performance makes it even better!
Views are amazing and definitely would recommend paying to do the cave. Wouldn’t recommend bothering with the museum or camera obscura, the camera obscura didn’t seem to work at all for us and couldn’t see out of any of the windows to get a view outside, the museum was okay but not worth the ticket in my opinion.
The theatre is shaped in such a way to amplify sound. It's roomy and pretty comfortable. We went to see treasure island, it was more suited to children but the overall construct of the place was easily accessible
A beautiful theatre with a rather majestic interior, offering a variety of performances to suit most ages and cultural desires, such as Zog, Hamlet and Wonderboy. The recent interpretation of Kafka's The Metamorphosis used the stage, lighting and music to great effect, transfixing the audience in the unraveling of Gregor Samsa. The seats themselves are comfortable though not designed for those with longer legs.
The bar offers a wide range of soft, cold and hot drinks as well as alcoholic beverages alongside crisps, ice-cream, pastries and pies. During the interval, staff work quickly, though not always effectively, to serve.
The theatre is approximately 15 mins easy walk from the train station. Probably worth travelling by train or bus as parking near the theatre is sparse and very expensive.
Overall, a great experience, good value for money and definitely worth visiting again.

22 pond om een schip te bekijken vinden wj echt heel veel ik wilde alleen een foto vh schip maken. Gozer achter de balie absoluut niet beleefd. Ik wilde ook graag muntjes wisselen voor het parkeren, maar dat kon alleen als je een ticket kocht zei hij.....nou dan niet......
Weer een van mijn bucketlist af. Goed georganiseerd en door enthousiaste mensen tijdens rondleidingen verteld. Toegangskaart een jaar geldig! Dus zeker waard om nog eens te gebruiken.
Leuk museum voor jong en oud met interactieve elementen.
Mooi gerestaureerd schip bijzonder om er binnen te kijken.

Zeker de moeite waard! Een prachtig schip dat je van binnen en buiten kunt bezoeken. Inclusief een interessant bezoekerscentrum. Ook aan te raden voor kinderen.
Zoals veel van de andere reviews al zeggen, dit is een hoogtepunt van het bezoek aan Bristol. Wij zijn samen zonder kinderen, maar dit was super. Alles realistisch nagemaakt en daardoor geeft het hele schip een perfect idee hoe het er destijds aan toe ging op een reis naar Amerika. Vrijwilligers die er werken vertellen je graag alles wat ook overal aan info te vinden is. Zeker doen!
Een absolute aanrader om te gaan bekijken als je in de omgeving van Bristol bent. Een hoogtepunt in onze zomer vakantie door zuid Engeland. Wat hebben ze dit museum gaaf en super interactief gemaakt. Geen twijfel: Doen!
Terug in de tijd naar het stoomschip Brunel's Great Britain. Ons bezoek was zeer de moeite waard. Je kunt onder het schip lopen want het ligt in een droogdok. Dit heb je niet in de gaten want van bovenaf lijkt het gewoon aan de kade te liggen. Vanaf het deck kun je het binnenste van het schip verkennen. Het is zeer indrukwekkend gerestaureerd.
Door de restauratie heb je als 21st eeuwer de mogelijkheid om terug te gaan naar 1845 toen de SS Great Britain aan haar carrière begon. Als passagiersschip met een ijzeren romp (nieuw) een schroefaandrijving (nieuw) toen ook nog eens het grootste schip ooit gebouwd. Het moet een wereldwonder zijn geweest voor tijdgenoten. Helaas voor K.I. Brunel was hij -als bij veel van zijn projecten- zijn tijd ver vooruit. Commercieel was de SS Great Britain dus geen succes. De stroom emigranten naar de VS zou pas na 1870 goed op gang komen.
