Un excellent dîner à kubu at mandapa ! Le service est excellent, le menu dégustation en 10 temps est gastronomique et nous fait découvrir la cuisine indonesienne.
Spectacular and unforgettable. One of my favorite restaurant experiences I’ve ever had. I ordered the non-alcoholic drink pairing, and it was so intriguing while also being such a perfect balance of flavors. I am neither sober nor a vegetarian, and this place blew me away. A must-try spot in Ubud. I left feeling full, happy, but not “weighed down”. They really do magic with such flavorful but simple ingredients.
An exemplary display of fine degustation! Service was impeccable and tailored; from being greeted at the outdoor entrance to printing out menus with our names on it and even giving us a handwritten card with both our names. Dessert was ridiculously thought out, thanks for the incredible experience.
As expected from a Ritz Carlton establishment, Kubu at Mandapa has the highest quality service from start to finish. The buggy taking you down to Kubu is a picturesque ride with jungle views, and once there, the ever-attentive staff make sure you have a memorable meal. Every dish was made thoughtfully and with fresh ingredients. If it's your first time, book a cocoon and be immersed in nature as you overlook the river. Highly recommended if you want a fine dining experience that is worth every rupiah. Will definitely return!
When a dish is well-executed, it evokes emotion. Vegetarian cuisine is particularly challenging because it requires a great deal of creativity to compensate for the absence of animal products in sauces (the DNA of a dish): a true challenge. Tonight, accompanied by our 8-year-old daughter, we were delighted. Each dish we tasted evoked emotion. The presentation of the plates was meticulous, and each dish (with very little wait between courses) was extremely well-crafted and thoughtful. The beverages paired with each dish were also excellently chosen and added something special to each course. There's a lot of sensitivity that emanates from this cuisine. I love meat and fish, but tonight, I didn't miss them at all. Of course, all of this comes at a price, but considering the effort and research behind each dish, it seems entirely justified to me. Bravo, we will definitely be back!
Dined at Kubu at Mandapa, and it was mostly enchanting. The bamboo cocoons by the Ayung River create a magical setting for exquisite Mediterranean-European cuisine. While the service and culinary creativity impressed, the evening was slightly marred by mosquitoes, with a few bites to remember the visit by. Still, a gem in Ubud.
Love the team! Friendly and fun! They also take note on my allergies. Food starts real good! MVP dish of the night shall be the fish! The pairing throughout the night is good. Absolutely love the first drink made from arak! Well this place can’t disappoint as it’s rated top 1 in Indonesia 💛
Exquisite food and atmosphere without being overly stuffy. It’s hard to imagine vegetarian food can earn Michelin stars, but Herbivore blew us away. Also great value for money. A similar meal in SF or NYC would easily cost $400+ for the level of food creativity and service.
Not the best high-end food in bali I must say, but each dish has exquisite ingredients and cooking method. The view inside the cocoon that look towards that steam is one of the highlights of this meal. It was our first day in Bali so it gives us a very strong start on the calming vibe you could get in ubud.
Personally love the starters and the dessert more than the main. Highly recommend the Mangrove Crab & Yellow Tail with sea grapes and vingar cucumber.
Overall, the experiences were great, staff are friendly and detail-caring. We were the very last reservation of the day, we finished our meal at 11pm (very late), but they are still showing their utmost professionalism. It would even greater if they could further explain the recommended way to taste the dishes.

A culinary adventure to the senses. I enjoyed the long menu with drinks pairing. And it did not disappoint one bit. Highly recommended!
