WOW. I am blown away by the food, atmosphere, and service. It’s part of a hotel so has a modern dining area and bar and then these beautiful antique, large rooms updated with decor that is just so cool. Food was excellent, got the sweet potatoes, hummus, labneh, pita, beetroot w/falafel and loved all of it. Cocktail selection was good but I wish they didn’t all have some type of syrup in them. Would definitely come back.
Superb place and reasonable price. Very friendly and welcoming. We will certainly return.

Great little hole in the wall just off the Mile. You have to know it's there to know!! Dont let the 'American cafe' fool you! Great full English/Scottish breakfast with all the haggis you want! And then get a picture with Elvis!

A chic little place that can pleasantly deceive. Expect classic French as you enter and be a little bamboozled with all the Asian/ Oriental/ spice led "twists and surprises" on classics... not a complaint but didn’t really feel required. It puzzles the mind when relishing what's almost reminiscent of a Chinese takeaway styled calamari in a French restaurant...all in all good food
We are older people visiting from the USA and we loved this place. The atmosphere is wonderful. The cask beer is great and, if you prefer, they have a nice selection of standard beer.
Our fish and chips were wonderful. The burger tasted a bit like meatloaf, but that was true at another place in Scotland.
We highly recommend going here for an authentic local pub.

Very very nice place & The cafe is great and the music is great ✨👌🏻
We went for dinner and found that the music was so loud that we could not carry on a conversation. We found a corner (to the right of the entrance) where it was not as loud and relocated.

My wife had a Cobb salad with blue cheese and it was floating in salad dressing. She could not eat all of it because of the dressing. If she had gotten it on the side it would have been fine.

I just had a standard burger. Perhaps it is too much to expect a burger in Scotland to taste like the US as it had more of a meatloaf flavor to it.

Again I was peckish and this wasn’t on my list of to try restaurants BUT IM GLAD THAT I DID 🥰

Service was meh but the food was great. I had the tempura style cauliflower and the mussels. First off, if you’re just looking for a smaller meal you DONT need both. But glad that I tried both as each was so tasty. The batter on the cauliflower, yes please. The crunch, flavor and consistency was a definite yes. But the mussels were everything. The only negative is what I assumed my breath smelled of after consuming, but it was worth it. Hands down one of the best flavor profiles on mussels that I’ve experienced. They were in a red sauce but not tomatoy. They were well balanced with a hint of spice and ohhhhh so flavorful. As a matter of fact I want more but I’m nervous, what if the second time isn’t as good as the first?

If your a hotel guest, or not definitely give them a visit

After a rather weary trek around Edinburgh, we stumbled across this place, from the outside both myself and my wife were thinking great things, we thought if they just had chairs and a diet coke, we would be happy.

On entry though, the giant Elvis at the door and the American stylie diner within was a big surprise, we were greeted by a lovely chap with a big smile, seated in a comfy booth, and looked after.

The food was quick and very tasty also priced very well.

The place was so nice we visited again the next day, lovely place.
Only negative is temperature in the room. Extremely hot and the Dyson fan made no impact to the temperature.
Bar facilities excellent, fantastic friendly staff with a great atmosphere. Perfect location for all local facilities. Outstanding value for money particularly with the breakfast as part of the deal.

I absolutely love baba! My favourite in EDI ♥️ The food is so light and yummy, every time we’ve been we’ve gotten awesome servers, and the whole place is just warm and inviting!
Market Street hotel was a wonderful place to stay in Edinburgh. It is perfectly situated between the old town and the new town. It is also right across the road from the train station. Be ready for a workout, getting to old town and the Royal Mile is all up hill.

The breakfast here is amazing! The staff is super friendly. The rooms are small but extremely nice.

A great restaurant in the heart of Edinburgh.

Menu consists of some home comforts and daily special. The fried salmon snd risotto was their special for that day and my partner opted for what is a beef stew with mash. Both lovely snd comforting food - happily revisit when back in Edinburgh.

Wine list wasn’t bad, opted for the picpoul.

Bill arrived and funny enough they overlooked adding the drinks onto the bill… but did flag this for them to put it on.

Fantastic experience with my dad. Staff was knowledgable about the menu as Im a vegan and helped to point out which dishes could be made.

Dishes ordered were on point, delicious and really well made. The piping hot pita breads are just a showstopper with any dip!

We ordered the lamb, falafel and baba ghanoush.
Bravo <3
Super freundliches Personal kombiniert mit fantastischem, authentischem italienischen Essen.

The variety of the menu, flavours, prices, service and ambience are all excellent. One of the best restaurants I have had the pleasure of visiting in a while.
My first time to the brasserie to celebrate my daughter's birthday and also the arrival of her newborn daughter. Service was friendly, attentive but no way overbearing. Food was well presented and very tasty. Three of us had Sunday roast and I went for the Lamb loin. All dishes faultless, a most enjoyable afternoon.
Minor comment was that we were initially instructed to leave the buggy and our 2 month old granddaughter outside the dining area. Once reality set in they managed to seat us at a table with sufficient access for the buggy. No big deal.

Room was so hot we barely slept the first night. Had to sleep with the windows open on the 2nd night which meant we were woken by drunks singing between 2am and 3:30am (but we did get some sleep).
Dyson blade in room was noisy and didn’t help at all. At £200 a night we expected a decent night’s sleep at the bare minimum.

The room was very small, with windows facing a wall, although the facilities were very good.

The staff were first class and the breakfast was good, but we were too sleep deprived to really enjoy our trip.
Stayed at this hotel for our recent trip to Edinburgh. Rooms were lovely equipped with all that you need and very comfortable. Bar area was great nice and bright great set up . Staff were very helpful. Will defo use again
We had a lovely experience!! We got three burgers, a pint and three half pints, we tried our first whiskey here and the stuff was so nice and helpful in our choice. They had us whiff it and once we chose it they checked in with us on how we liked it. We also got a nachos platter and a typical dessert with a glass of Scottish wine. The pub itself is very awesome, it has fairy light strung throughout and the decor is unique!
Such an amazing breakfast spot! This place was recommended to me and I had such a great experience! We came here for breakfast on Saturday and we were warmly greeted and seated on a nice table by the window. The place doesn't look that big from the outside, but it's actually quite spacious. The interior is lovely and hs this nice relaxing vibe. Service was fast and friendly. They have a nice selection of hot drinks. Their moca is one of the best I've ever had! The food was amazing! The eggs Royale were delicious, and the eggs with the pulled pork were fantastic as well!
I would definitely come back on my next trip to Edinburgh.
What a wonderful find, this place gets very busy and would recommend booking if you want food, but we only called in for a drink, they have a good range of drinks and if you want a whiskey the bar staff are very knowledgeable about recommending one. A definite one to return to
Staying at a near by hotel and thought we would go for breakfast. Waffles were inedible and tasted and looked exactly like the bulk buy ones from costco. Not what I expected for the price. Really disappointed. My husbands poached egg on toast was OK although boring. Other families walked out barely touching their food. We were given a discount on the waffles we didn't eat but still spent £40 for 3 people. Do not recommend. It's a pretty restaurant though but that's not why we go to places, I was nice food.
We arrived Christmas morning 2023, and were greeted by two young women that were quite professional and welcoming. We checked into our room and there was a gift holiday cookies with a note welcoming us for the holiday. Such a very nice gesture. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel clean and staff exceptional. Great location too. I highly recommend this hotel. Sorry to do the review three months later. Thank you again for making our stay at the hotel a great one.

David was the best bartender of our entire trip. Friendly, engaging, knowledgeable, and best of all a fantastic mixologist. His pepper chocolate cocktail was a surprising and refreshing treat!
My review is an odd one but I wanted to make sure and give them some well deserved praise for their customer service.

My husband and I didn’t get a chance to actually stay at the hotel but I initially booked our stay based on other reviews, newness/cleanliness of the rooms and proximity to the train. I did however experience their customer service via phone whilst canceling our stay, unfortunately. I’ve never been so sad not to stay at a hotel. The kindness, quickness, flexibility and accommodation I received made my heart swell and tears gather in my eyes.

From an American who is not used to being treated so humanely - We will be back to Edinburgh at some point and I will 100% will be staying here.

Thank you!

Good vibe pub with average food quality. Place looked rustic, and the ambience was great.
Best hotel stay I have had that I can remember. The room was immaculately cleaned and serviced daily. The maid service was the best part! Very quiet for such a great location. Quick check in and out. Wonderful complimentary snacks and drinks. Loved the soap smells. 10/10.

Best food I have ever had in the U.K.!
We ordered the marinated chicken thigh, spiced red lentils, plum, yoghurt and mint.
The flavors are a party on the palette the presentation is just as festive and vibrant. I never had chicken and plum together but it worked wonderfully!

We also ordered slow-cooked lamb shoulder which was incredibly tender and flavor!

Our waitress Aby was so sweet and helpful. She gave us great recommendations and was very personable and gracious.
,
Can't beat the service and food here! If it's full, just wait, it's worth it! The Shepherds pie was perfect along with any pint! Atmosphere takes you back in time!

I tried the haggis for the first time, it’s all smashed and made into a patty like black budding but softer. The taste was ok, i liked to stuff them into the potato pastry as it is empty inside, and it was delicious. The service is great, warm and efficient, atmosphere here is quiet and space is big. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to have a great breakfast with more choices.

Step into The City Cafe in Edinburgh and prepare to be transported across the pond to a slice of Americana right in the heart of Scotland! From the full-size Elvis statue watching over the diner to the classic American jukebox setting the mood, every detail screams retro-cool.

But it's not just the ambiance that's a hit – the food is a knockout too! Dive into a full Scottish breakfast with a side of haggis for a taste sensation that's as bold and flavorful as the decor. The service is just as delightful, with staff who are as friendly as a southern drawl and as efficient as a New York minute.

Whether you're a fan of the King or just craving some comfort food with a Scottish twist, The City Cafe delivers on all fronts. So grab a booth, soak in the vibes, and get ready for a dining experience that's as memorable as it is delicious!

It’s always good to discover something a little different and this place certainly is. The menu is great, and all dishes were really tasty and with generous portions and the setting is great with cool decor, music and atmosphere.

We were served by four members of staff and each one was brilliant, friendly and efficient.

Celebrating in Christmas vibe, I try Cadiz located in busy and wonderful George street.
As usual with lunch deals, I go with three courses.
The pink peppercorn is quite impressive with the sauce and the fried is pretty nice. My friend tried chorizo ball which is not bad as well.
The main course I had is Cod wrapped in ham. I think the fish is well cooked and the fondant potato is amazing but the ham might add too saltiness to the dish unfortunately.
The wow is the chicken breast that I taste the glimpse of it. Tender and succulent is the word I feel for it.

The dessert is the vanilla ice cream with chocolate praline. It’s nice but I couldn’t finish as the portion is quite big and sharable.
The main course portion is satisfactorily big so 2 courses might be enough for me.

The decoration is quite chic and sophisticated but the entrance might be hard to find as you need to walk and go upstairs.
Recommended to come and try from savvy budget to the fancy a la carte dishes.

Superb experience from start to finish. Such a fabulous vibe about the restaurant with live piano playing to accompany the meal. Our server, Lauchlan, was attentive, friendly and always polite. Couldn't fault him, nor the restaurant and food. One of the best steaks we'd both had in a very long time.
We were staying at the Frederick House hotel across the road. Breakfast at the Rabble was included. The place has a friendly and welcoming ambience and the menu has a great selection of breakfast meal options. We tried different menu items on the two days and all were excellent. The service was friendly and quick. Great job guys, especially Victoria who made us feel welcome.

Such a wonderful, cozy restaurant to pop into on a cold rainy day. So many veg options too! Got the sweet potato cinnamon soup and the mac & cheese and got the perfect food coma after. Did an americano after to fix that.

The holiday/Christmas decorations were absolutely stunning the commute to the bathroom (a couple floors up) and in general I was pleasantly surprised at how much seating was available! We were able to come in and be seated quite quickly on a Sunday afternoon without a reservation. Great place to come while you’re popping in and out of shops in Victoria street

Will absolutely return during my next visit to Edinburgh!

Beautiful looking place in a fabulous part of Edinburgh. A very cosy bistro feel. Looked especially lovely lit up with Xmas lights. We chose the Xmas menu at £35 a head. The food was delicious and well cooked but portions were very small, I left feeling hungry. Even some veg with the main course would have helped. It all seemed a bit disorganised. However, it was busy.

I enjoyed my dinner here, but it wasn’t as wonderful as I expected based on reviews I had read. For one thing, when were seated, I was placed in an armchair that sat very low, and the table came up almost to my neck. I finally managed to get a server to help me change the chair. Some of the food was a bit spicier than we had thought it would be, but the ambience there was great. Lots of atmosphere in the decor. And it’s a wonderful location. I walked here from my hotel down on York Place, and it was a beautiful evening walk to get back.

Popped in for a bite to eat on a weds afternoon. Was seated right away (party of 3) then order took shortly after. Wasn't too busy so food and drinks come out in good time. Ordered the apache burger which comes with bacon. Good tasty burger, decent size, well seasoned with the bacon not too crispy. Chips has lots of fluffy potato in the middle and crispy on the outside however we're a bit too chunky for me. Reasonably priced, good place to come and have a decent burger.
Sehr gut gegessen. Top personal… alles schnell und perfekt gemacht. Und gut im Preis. Wir hatten einen tollen Abend. Gracie.
I came in last minute with no reservation so I was delighted when the waitress shifted things around. The manager made time to have a chat with me even though the restaurant was busy. Honestly the food was amazing. I had the oysters and the Venison and it was outstanding. So much so that I had to ask the name of the chef. Thank you Carlo! The home made bread was phenomenal too

The Grain Store is phenomenal. We were fortunate that they had a cancellation and were able to squeeze us in on short notice. I have a great suggestion for you if you love a cocktail 🍸 or five 🍹 and need a night 'oot oot'.
I went along to discover the The Square Route of Edinburgh at
One Square at Sheraton Hotels & Resorts.
They've launched an innovative new cocktail menu inspired by Edinburgh. The cocktail definitely captures the essence or the vibe of these Squares.
9 squares, 9 stories and 9 delicious cocktails.
I tried the following cocktails:
🍹EH1 3BP - St James Square with whisky 🥃, Blackcurrant jam and blood orange 🍊 puree
🍸EH8 9XF - George Square with Tequila, Lemongrass syrup and Grapefruit bitters
🍹EH3 9SU - Festival Square with Rum, Pineapple 🍍 and Paprika Syrup and Grapefruit juice
🍸EH2 4QH - Charlotte Square with Grand Marnier Orange 🍊 liqueur, Peach 🍑 and hibiscus liqueur and Manzanilla sherry.
🍹Hunter Square where old meets news and their modern take on 'sex on the bwach'. It was sweet and tropical with Grey Goose L'orange, Peach 🍑 and Hibiscus 🌺 liqueur and Cranberry and vanilla foam
🍸Festival Square is where arts and culture meet and pays homage to the spectacular variety of global talent. Its fresh, fruity and light with pineapple 🍍 rum, bacardi carta blanca and 🍉 watermelon cordial.
The bar is beautiful and has such a relaxed vibe to it. The chairs are extremely comfortable with exceptionally high backs allowing for the feel of privacy in your own wee bubble. Loved it!
From here sashay to the other end of the hotel for the restaurant and enjoy some superb dishes from their Market Menu and A la Carte. We tucked into dishes predominantly off their Market Menu which run and change throughout the year.
2 courses for £29
3 courses for £34
One must have dish is the Cheese Souffle!!
This incredibly light cheese souffle defies gravity. Extreme cheese 🧀 flavours from both the Souffle and surrounding delectable puddle of cheesy goodness.
The vegetarian dish was incredible too and not a crumb was left. Ratatouille and mozzarella filo strudel with broccoli, green beans, garlic new potatoes with a roast red pepper and tomato sauce.
Desserts shown are
🍦Grand Marnier and Coconut Bombe Alaska
🧁Moscato wine and Frangipane pear tart with bay leaf ice-cream

I was really impressed by the atmosphere of this restaurant and how welcomed I was made to feel by Paul who gave me some great advice on the menu. Carlos our Chef prepared a super tasty Braised Brisket and the meat was simply perfect! I will definitely return next time I visit Edinburgh.
Coole Restaurant mit einer interessantem Speise Karte. Dazu gibt es passende Weine und/odet Biere. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Komme immer wieder gerne.
