Having seen all the poor reviews on Google maps, I felt obliged to write this review as my experience was overwhelmingly positive and I think most people only post reviews when they experience poor service, but the majority of others who have a good experience often forget to post a review. I guess that is just human nature!
First experience dealing SBMC post merger with Hollow Way surgery and it has been nothing but positive. Called the regular hollow way phone number and the lady explained how to fill out the e consult form online (new procedure due to the merger) which was quite simple and short. Received a call from Dr. Vaz within the hour and asked me to come to the surgery that morning itself. He was extremely professional and heard my concerns and checked the symptoms, and then ordered a number of blood tests for the same afternoon. Results came back within a day or so (over the weekend) and I filled out the e consult again on Monday morning asking for a call back to discuss results. This time Dr. Wooding called back within the hour and explained the results, which were inconclusive. He then ordered more blood tests, again on the very same day! Once the results were back on Tuesday, both Dr. Viz and then Dr. Wooding got in touch to discuss the diagnosis. Incredibly prompt and professional service and I truly felt cared for! Thank you SBMC and your wonderful doctors and staff for your service.

Utterly terrible - didn’t take my family members symptoms seriously and is now discovered to have life threatening complications. I will be pursuing legal action for negligence by receptionist and the three doctors who saw my mother and failed.

I called up and booked an appointment for two days in a row, and both days even though I called multiple times in the day, and was constantly being reassured that I was the next person on the list I never got a call back. Even on my gp record it was noted my symptoms were urgent, when I called 111 and eventually had to go to A&E because I hadn’t been able to speak to my gp even they couldn’t understand why. I can really understand if the service is busy but I called at 8am and was told constantly for 11 hours I was the next on the list, and that I was the next on the list to get a call back for two days in a row just meant that for 11 hours I was ill and trying desperately to stay awake for 11 hours waiting for a call that never came. It was exhausting and honestly really upsetting

Been with this GP for nearly 10 years but I have officially left them. The short haired receptionist who worked on 15th of feb was super rude and had a bad attitude. I fully accepted I couldn’t be seen by a doctor as I was late but she kept putting faces at me and told me to find another GP nearer to my house. I explained to her that i spoke to a doctor 6 months ago to say I would like to continue being registered here as I really loved the doctors. She had the audacity to ask me which doctor I spoke to; like I remember all the doctors there!!! She later went on to say I need to find another GP as I can’t continue going here. I kept my cool and spoke to her with respect as I knew I was wrong but there was no need for her to treat me like that.

Today was my little one’s first vaccine and I attended 5 minutes late because of the traffic, I apologised for my delay because of traffic and I been advised to wait no problem.
45 minutes later I asked again the reception how long time will take because the little one start crying and they came back to me come tomorrow morning Doctor Isabel need 20 minutes for the appointment or come tomorrow morning…

I have been with this medical practise for around 20 years. I have always found the doctors and staff to be friendly, professional and efficient.

Very disappointed with this practice. I have been a patient here since more than 5 years and before the covid pandemic I was reasonably satisfied. Good GPs, no problem booking appointments. Sometimes one had to wait as they were running late but nothing out of ordinary However something changed during or after the pandemic.The receptionists would do anything for o keep you away from the GP. And no chance for an urgent visit. I don’t hold it against here, I’m sure they are stretch and someone above here makes the decision over how much resources they get. If you considering joining pleas look elsewhere. It is what other people complain about over here. It’s not an exaggeration at all.

I appreciate your follow-up on my previous comment. Instead of publicly shaming me, you could have used that time to asked a GP to seek medical advice on my situation. I'm still unwell; I'm coughing every day, and mucus is coming out from my nose and throat. This is what I'm trying to explain. I don't have a fever, nor am I pregnant (some NHS lady gave me advice on pregnancy just because I vomited). You have my number in your records; please find a solution and call back. Give some respect to the money I've contributed to the UK healthcare system.

I called them to speak with a GP while feeling extremely unwell—stuffed nose, coughing, and vomiting. Unfortunately, the lady on the phone was incredibly rude, instructing me to call back on Monday. Considering the situation, I expected more compassion.What’s the point in paying NHS fee during visa application. Disappointing experience with the healthcare system in the UK.

I just had a call with a nurse practitioner due to not being able to attend the clinic. I called at 8 and had a phone consultation by 10. both the receptionist I spoke to and the nurse practitioner were extremely helpful and got me the help I needed straight away. Thank you for the help.

Poor service. They say they only book same day appointments and you have to call early in the morning at 8:00 am. But when you do so, you are put through and endless queue, wait for nearly an hour and nobody picks the call. Then you retry several times to no avail. Later in the day, when the call finally goes through, the only answer is "Please call the next day because we are fully booked for the day and can't book in advance for the upcoming days." So, patients with serious diseases have to keep waking up early and go through the same cycle with no satisfactory answer. The receptionist does not take note of phone numbers to call back. This is POOR SERVICE, POOR MANAGEMENT! This is the reason why people always go to A&E even when not needed.

I was seen by a black nurse (maybe from Nigeria?). I suffered from a foot infection that developed into cellulitis and the swelling in my leg was very big. I could barely walk and she told me to wait outside her office until the doctor arrived to see me. I thought this was rude and inconsiderate. The doctor was nice enough and gave me the medication prescription. But this nurse has zero patient care training and I left in a very angry state. How you make your patients feel is also part of the job. I want something done about this.
