A great way to relax and get up close to flora and fauna. So many species to see, sit and enjoy the sounds of birds and everything green. Highly recommend it to get ready before adventure tours. I saw older people with walkers and little kids smiling and enjoying the sights.
Beautiful gardens and a great selection of rescued animals. The toucan seemed to like me.
This is not a Zoo. This was a Zoo many years ago but due to the animal fairness spirit CR does not tolerate animals in cages. This places is refuge for animals that cannot go back to nature. So don't expect to see zebras or elephants.
Visiting it will help the refuge to continue operations, saving injured animals.
If you are having a short stay, it worth visiting it, specially if you have kids. Bring a camera.
The Tucan is so cute it even will approach to you.
There is a Jaguar and a lot of birds.

Money well spent. It's fairly inexpensive with plenty to see over the course of a couple of hours. I went on a Sunday and it wasn't busy.
As it's a zoo, animals are caged sadly, but that is the nature of zoos. Monkeys seemed happy enough. Parrots were in full song. There's a jaguar and other creatures. Plenty of tropical trees.

The zoo has a variety of different animals and plants and the layout of their enclosures allow you to get quite close to many of them for a unique viewing experience. Be sure to pay a lot of attention to where you walk though, there were hundreds of spider webs with large arachnids across many of the pathways.
