The service is way too long! We waited 1h20 for the food to come....3 waiters for inside and outside. Food ok.

Good food and great prices, there were some problems with the ordering but they handeld it very well !
Nettes Restaurant am Hafen, gute Küche und trotz Lage verrnünftige Preise. Perfekt für uin Mittagessen and der frischen Meeresluft :-)
Ok food, nothing special. Service rushed didn’t feel the care factor, felt like production line tourist place. They took my meal while I was still eating! Brioche desert came out suspiciously quickly. Expensive for average food. Don’t recommend
Bestes Meeresfrüchte Restaurant in der Altstadt. Die Sitzplätze sind leider sehr eng und reservieren sollte man auch. Dafür sehr lecker und traditionell.
Best seafood experience in life, like a dream, the sea spider is so tasty and has lots of meat to enjoy! We are very full with happy belly in the end, very satisfied with the fresh seafood, the wine is great too, friendly staff, everything is perfect:) I highly recommend this restaurant:)
Whenever we visit La Rochelle a meal in this restaurant is a must. The food is fresh & beautifully presented. A warm welcome & nothing seems too much trouble.
extremely pricey restaurant, you pay for the location and views. I had crevettes and a mojito with friends, and it was €13 for the mojito. the waiters forgot my order even though I asked twice, and the mojito came with sugar crystals all not dissolved at the bottom. for €13 i would expect at least the drink to be made properly, even if it’s not particularly well made. crevettes were ok and staff was very busy, maybe because I came on a sunday and there were not enough waitstaff.

Amazing place and a must!
We went there one year ago and it was good, we returned a few days ago and it has been completely renewed making it look "just standard", moreover the food wasn't great, again, "just ok".
We got "mules", they were small, that is due to the season, so no problem, but most of them were not open or broken.
We had risotto as well, it was a bit low of salt.
Service was nice and friendly.

Visited today with friends 14/02/2024 just for drinks . Nice atmosphere and excellent service. Very clean restaurant and toilets. Brovo guys. Definitely come back.

We had a quick lunch at Merluberlu, and all enjoyed the menu of the day. Fish was well prepared, with clear Asian influences that made the dishes interesting.

This was an excellent meal. The local oysters were really fresh with a nice optional sauce and the sole was superb and perfectly grilled. The chocolate dessert was perfectly baked and oozing rich chocolate. The staff were very friendly and very knowledgeable about all the ingredients in the sauces. This was one of my best meals this year.
We had two wonderful meals here. The staff are charming, friendly and hard working. Big thank you to Baptiste who speaks very good English and was so kind and helpful.

Evening meal without réservation. 2 people with 2 dogs (1 very large) but we were welcomed without hesitation.

Surprise au détour d'une rue sur cette jolie place tranquille qui accueille quelques restaurants dans une ambiance village traditionnel. Accueil chaleureux à la Solette. Ambiance douce et agréable en terrasse en ce mois d'octobre estival. Je me suis régalée d'un plat criée du chef bam bam: lieu jaune (j' espère ne pas me tromper) , légumes racines et mélange de céréales aux épices. Un petit blanc charentais à découvrir! Un mi-cuit chocolat avec coulis de griotte et glace yoghourt parfaitement équilibré. Très bon souvenir de ce restaurant. Je garde l'adresse pour un prochain séjour.
Bar tapas quai Valin. C'est sur le port mais un peu plus au calme que cours des dames ou quai Duperré. Vous avez la possibilité de vous mettre en terrasse côté port / bateaux ou côté immeubles. Vous pouvez commander des planches et des tapas. Le soir où nous y étions plus de planche de charcuterie (dès l'ouverture des commandes). A signaler qu'il n'est possible le soir de commander des planches ou tapas qu'à partir de 18h30 précis (commande refusée par le serveur à 18h26 😳 et ce n'était pas pour plaisanter). Serveur stressé ??? Et pourtant il n'y avait vraiment pas foule ... notre groupe de 10 cherche encore à comprendre... Heureusement nous avons pris cela avec humour et la suite du service a été réalisé avec une nouvelle serveuse très agréable. Les tapas sont bons ainsi que les tapenades.
Bonne cuisine, simple efficace avec bcp de saveurs. Frites maisons bien croustillantes. Petit bémol sur mon entrecôte un peu trop grasse mais de qualité.

Cuisine savoureuse, loin des restaurants et rues bondés du port. Situé sur une jolie place, on accède à une terrasse à la décoration somme toute modeste mais qui cache une cuisine savoureuse. Les entrés et plats sont très travaillés avec un équilibre remarquable dans les saveur, de plus le vin conseillé était très bon. Petit bémol pour les desserts notamment la douceur au chocolat qui était plus lourde que douce.

Sehr gutes Restaurant für kleinere Fischgerichte und frühen Abend. Hier hat man den tollsten Ausblick über den alten Hafen und Sonnenuntergang.

Sono stato in questo locale per cena con due colleghi in occasione di una trasferta di lavoro. Il ristorante si trova in una piazza interna del vecchio porto. L'interno, diviso su più piani, non è molto grande. Durante la bella stagione sono presenti dei tavoli anche all'esterno. Io ho preso un filetto di branzino con verdure che ho trovato buonissimo. Successivamente ho preso una brioche dolce con gelato veramente deliziosa. Tutta la cena è stata accompagnata da un vino bianco francese. I prezzi, considerando la qualità dei cibi proposti, sono onesti.

Pour le reste, nous avons pris la poitrine fumée trop grasse et bien trop cuite. Il en va de même pour le filet de bar qui n’était par conséquent, pas tendre.
Les frites qui ne sont pas maison sont arrivées froides.
L’œuf en entrée était bon, mais ne vaut pas 9€.
La bouteille de rosé « le coquin » ne casse pas trois pattes à un canard.
Patron tenant le restaurant depuis 12 ans. Nous lui avons fait part du manque de chaleur de frites. Il a fait remonter l’info. Bon, depuis 12 ans, heureusement que nous sommes venus…
Il nous a offert 4 shooter pour s’excuser. Nous avons apprécié le geste.
Enfin, il faut compter une moyenne de 30€ pour une entrée/plat ou plat/désert. Ça ne les vaut absolument pas.
L’endroit sur deux étages, est très exiguë et ce n’est pas très agréable.
Un service qui fut malgré tout professionnel, il n’a rien à dire.
Bref, nous avons essayé et nous ne reviendrons pas.

Doubted a bit between 3 and 4 stars. The service was good and profesional, for which 4 stars, for the food 3 to 4 stars, since some remarks. At beginning of the meal we got served a yogurt sauce (presume with dille and maybe other spices) as appetizer, i'm not a bit fan of yogurt but no worries since the restaurant doesn't know that but unfortunately the same sauce was used to join the grilled sardines(sauce not mentioned on the menu). My wife had the mussels which she very much enyoyed. As main we had the tuna which was very tasteful and the osso bucco, well the about this dish; i love osso bucco and had it many times before but in this case i do not know how the butcher managed to cut the shank that thin (guess about 0,5 to 1 cm). So could not really taste the meat properly; it was so thin that it became dry... the risotto joining the dish was however very tasteful and it saved the dish. The desserts were enjoyable and well presented.

Mojito etwas zu süß, aber Meeresfrüchte gut und Muscheln super! Ich kann es weiter empfehlen.
Sehr zu empfehlendes Fischrestaurant, nicht zu teuer, gute Weinkarte, lokale Biere im Ausschank, einfach lecker!
Wir verstehen nicht warum dieses Restaurant so gute Bewertungen hat. Das Essen war überhaupt nicht frisch. Wir hatten einen Salad mit Crevetten, Pommes, Muscheln und einen kleinen Risotto als Beilage. Also, der 17€ Salat war mit braunen Eisbergblättern ein paar Kirschtomaten, ein paar lieblosen Crouton. Die Pommes waren kalt und welk, das Risotto war ungenießbar, und die Muscheln waren kalt und knapp frisch. Das war ein miserables Abendessen! Das einzige gute waren die Getränke und der Service war nicht schlecht.

Tolles kleines, einfaches Restaurant. Viele kleine Tapas, super Pommes mit einer hausgemachten Sauce. Atmosphäre am Hafen von Rochelle einfach zum geniessen. Bedienung sehr nett.

The tunna with 5 grains is terrible.
The newly redecorated restaurant offers a varied menu with a modern French twist. The open kitchen demonstrates a confidence when dealing with a large number of covers. Our party of 10 was smoothly and professionally catered for. The only negative was that the portions were small and left us wanting more.
Wir waren nun zum zweiten Mal innerhalb von fünf Jahren hier essen. Wie beim ersten Mal waren wir begeistert vom guten Essen. Sowohl für das Auge als auch für den Magen war es ein Genuss.

Man sitzt wunderbar im Freien Nähe am Quai beim Tour de Chaine. Aber auch innen ist das Restaurant sehr nett eingerichtet, vor allem die vielen historischen Aufnahmen sind eine nähere Betrachtung wert. Trotz vollem Restaurant war die Bedienung schnell und aufmerksam, die Toiletten sind ok.
