Very nice place. Pleasant service and good meals. Tasty and vegan.
If you want to eat proper vegan food this is the place 🌞. There are tons of vegan food options which are all super tasty. The staff is soooo kind, funny and awesome. And the vibe is chilled. Highly recommend this great place (and the platter) to anyone!

Love the bar. I’ve been a regular client since they opened and I think the place is amazing. However last Friday we had a really bad experience with the service. Our first round came after 40 min and our second cocktails came only after 1 hour and 30 minutes of waiting. Waiter came and told us they will be for free because of the big delay (he even offered a shot of tequila for free after he drop some beer on me, which never came). To my surprise, when I went to pay, the drinks were included. Somehow I got the bill but waited 30 more minutes only to pay. Place is usually busy and that day was busy as usual, but waiters (specially ours) were simply not performing.
Best cocktails in Nijmegen and probably the Netherlands.
The atmosphere is great, you can tell a lot of heart and thought has gone into the design of the place.

Delicious meal with flavors I had never tried before! The place is really “gezellig” and the drinks were very well balanced.
Just amazing, both food and drinks, the service and the place itself. Worth waiting outside to get in ;)
It's a nice place. Fir of all it was recommended to me by my friend and I will not deny it, it's one of the amazing places to spend Saturday evening . Good crowd

Coolest record shop in Nijmegen. Great selection of electronic music on vinyl. The owner is a really nice guy.
Not too many dishes to choose from, but very delicious! Wholehearted dishes, tenderly saved.

Funkenstein is such a cozy and atmospheric place to sit! We got the kaasfondue with two people and were positively surprised anout the great variety of food that came with it. The fries are great, the cheese was on point melted and even when it was busy, the waitress did a great job. We will definetly come back for the burgers!
Love the Burguer 🍔! Nice place to go with friends or colleagues. You can play pool for 1 euro (cash). The atmosphere is warm, and the vibes are nice!
The only scary part was going up to the bathroom... Those old stairs cracked and the hallway shows how old the building is! 👻👀

Food was really nice! Funkenschnitzel was super lekker. We only got one salad between two people but when we asked for a second salad, it was quickly arranged. Really nice place!
Hier kann man schon recht lecker essen. Nun, das es kalt war kann man dem Restaurant nicht anlasten. Aber die Heizstrahler wirken wie Deko...das Personal hat Luft nach oben. Ist grundsätzlich okay, geht aber besser.

Verdient 5 Sterne, weil: Absolut freundliche Bedienung, total schneller Service, sehr leckere Snacks, die liebevoll zubereitet sind. Preis/Leistung stimmt auch. Empfehlenswert wenn man nach Nijmegen kommt. Bedankt!!

I was staying for one night in nearby Hotel de Prince and went for a short wander when I discovered Funkenstein on March 20th 2019.
It was about 830pm on a Wednesday night. The bar was not too busy and I was greeted by a friendly member of staff. He helped me through the menu board which was in Dutch. I had a very tasty BBQ burger and chips washed down by 2 glasses of shandy. Very tasty.
There was a lovely old school atmosphere in the place and it was not too busy. Staff were excellent and I really enjoyed my food. I recommend the apple caramel dessert. All in it was €25. Try it!
