went here with my cousin a week or so ago, great place!! the vibe is awesome, decor is pretty and calming, food was affordable and pretty good for the price.
just one thing: it is NOT a book cafe. you have to buy the books to read them in the cafe area!!

Best place in my locality for a Cup of tea.

Shanker Tea Shop is very popular in Amherst Street to Hedua area. Tea is very beautiful, service available in 6 am to 10 pm. my experience you'd definitely get the Teast you're looking for
What you'll get : Tea(Chai), Coffee, Masala Chai (Masala Tea), Cookies you'll get Drinking water for free
The store owner has a Great Customer severing skill you'll get the best Chai it's my experience,
I would like to prefer Masala Chai.

About the food.. Not that upto the mark... We tried -
COLD COFFEE (feels like milkshake)
CHICKEN PLATTER (okok type)
FISH N CHIPS (okish)

Most importantly, Ask your staff to change their behavior, i.e- standing by and waiting when the cold coffee glass & snacks plate will empty.. They come to ask again and again whether the glass is ready, then it will be taken away immediately. Why? You guys are out of Glasses ??? And it's not once or twice. This happened countless times. Which makes me so disappointed & disgusted. We've already noticed about their negative reviews on Google map, but thought that it won't happen with us. But no.. Same..
They made 2 different bills with double Service charge & CGST+SGST. Why??? Why you guys make different bills?? Just to loot us? They took the bills also, as we don't have any proof regarding the bill..
Our bill was ₹912.. After claiming 2 times service charge. That guy deduct ₹72, & calculate without any devices, the amount is 860😂😂😂😂.. Like, seriously???? Then told him, ₹840.. But forgot to mention about their special double time GST charges.

The ambiance and food were both excellent. Kashmiri Kahwah tea was super aromatic and one of the best kashmiri teas served in Kolkata. If you are a tea enthusiast then Organic Darjeeling Tea is a must try. For food you can try Tandoori Chicken Tikka, Fish and Chips and Kadai Chicken Pizza. All the food was scrumptious and super tasty. Last but not the least for summer coolers do try Cha Bar Special Thandai which was awesome.
