This is a fascinating yet somewhat disturbing experience in what humans can do to each other. It’s particularly fascinating that Germans did this to each other right after WWII. The stories in this museum are nothing short of amazing and walking inside the former Stasi headquarters while learning about this makes it an eerie experience.

Maybe our expectations were too high from reading the many good reviews, but this bar is far from competing with the best in Hamburg. We tried eight different cocktails and weren’t very excited about any of them - and we like to try cocktails. Even the whisky sour was very average.
You need to ring a door bell at the ground floor of the building and then wait for a staff member to pick you up. When we visited it took more than five minutes, and that’s a long wait with Hamburg winter weather (rain and wind).
The bar has no food except for a pulled pork sandwich.
The liquor selection in the bar is very limited, so if you would like a different type gin, let’s say a craft gin, you’re out of luck unless you consider Monkey47 a craft gin. The whisky selection is poor.
You can find way better bar options even on a walking distance from Puzzle Bar.
The many glorious reviews left us puzzled.

Excellent experience staying at this hotel for a weekend. Nice welcome at the reception, friendly and professional staff. Interesting and fun layout of the reception area with a bar adjacent, and a barber shop inside the reception. Each elevator has unique art and also the hallways and rooms have a nice ambience. There is a parking garage with direct access to the hotel, but it is very expensive. The tram is only ten minutes by foot from the hotel.
We didn’t try any of the food in the hotel as our schedule didn’t allow for it.
We can warmly recommend this hotel.

One of the best dining experiences that Frankfurt has to offer. This India-inspired restaurant offers excellent and not commonly found Indian dishes, as well as some of the best steaks Frankfurt has to offer. It is pricey but well worth the money. The staff is friendly and experienced, which one can’t take for granted in restaurants anymore.

This bar is part of the Marriott hotel, and is a good option if you must eat in the hotel. The access is from the outside of the hotel, basically behind the hotel. The bar features an extensive craft beer selection and typical bar food. We enjoyed trying some of the many beers, while enjoying a tasty cheese burger and chicken sandwich, both accompanied by french fries. The beers were excellent and food was very tasty. In spite of dining at a very busy hour the food was delivered very quickly, and quality didn’t seem to have been compromised. All orders are placed at the bar inside the restaurant. There was a little bit of a line and a short wait, but there are many bartenders so the order process is fast.

The staff is friendly and correct.

The restaurant has some interior seating but extensive outdoor seating capacity. The outside is very pleasant, with no traffic nearby and overlooking a square with some huge, beautiful trees.

We enjoyed our time at the Customs House Bar, and if we want a burger and a beer next time we’re in Sydney, we may very well end up there again.
