As a seasoned traveler, I've had the privilege of experiencing many five-star hotels across the globe. My recent visit to the Hilton Riyadh raised my expectations to new heights, promising an evening of culinary excellence and impeccable service. However, the experience fell woefully short, leaving me with a sense of disappointment and a hefty bill that included an unexpected charge that left a bitter taste in my mouth.
The food was decent, but the surprise valet parking fee left a sour note on the experience. This seemingly insignificant charge, in the context of a high-end dining experience that had easily surpassed the 1,600 SAR mark for our family of four, felt like a slap in the face.
Charging for valet parking at a five-star hotel, especially when the meal itself is already quite pricey, seems absurd with the overall luxurious experience offered. It's as if the hotel is implying that their commitment to extravagance extends only to the dining experience and the ambiance, while they're content to charge extra for even the most basic amenities like valet.
And after speaking to manger, she simply implied that it’s the valet company’s decision. And that they have no control over it which is ridiculous.
I would not recommend dining at this hotel again.
