Tour Eiffel Garden
2024 Jan 30
If you’re on a budget and time constraint, it’s probably one of the best places to view the Eiffel tower, the other one being the Fontaine du Jardin du Trocadéro. In winter, the grassy portions are cordoned off to let the grass grow, so you’ll only have the gravel paths to walk around in.
Fancy mall with beautiful Christmas decor during the holidays, good to visit even if you don’t plan on buying anything. If you’re looking for the men’s department it’s in the next building. It usually gets pretty crowded and it’s pretty tight, navigating around for the first time is a bit difficult. Lots of fancy, expensive brands on the first few floors. You can’t really stop and appreciate the middle part of the mall which I think is the prettiest, they have it roped off for snack kiosks where you have to pay to be seated, totally understandable on their part because if you don’t restrict access, lots of folks would stop and block the flow of traffic. I really did like the free rooftop access, the views are pretty cool, but they do close it when it gets too crowded. The souvenir shop at the top floor with the bookstore, baggage store, cafe was a good place to get last minute gifts from. Having them process your tax refund in store is very convenient too. Unless you’re here to get luxury brands from France you’re probably not going to get a good deal.

Had the urge to compare a foreign Chinese fast food joint to the ones stateside. I like how you can see all the prepped food in front of you. Just point at whatever dish you want, have them weigh it, microwave it and you’re done. Lots of dishes to choose from, fried rice, fried noodles, orange chicken, beef dishes. We ended up getting fried rice, beef w/ bell peppers and orange chicken. Service was quick and great, the lady at the counter spoke good english.
Really one of the nicest free things to do in Paris, just make sure to visit during known non peak times/days.

Of course prices will be a bit higher since it’s near the Eiffel Tower, but I guess if you happen to get a seat outside, it’ll be worth it to hang around and people watch. If you see an empty table, just sit and someone will get to you eventually. We happened to get there near their closing time on a winter night and we were still accommodated, granted we just got drinks, Fabrice was a great waiter.
