The Amazing Adventures of Me

Having seen the transformation of this space from the “old library” concrete jungle I think the area is now one of the prettiest spaces in Brum. It’s always clean, even the buildings / stonework appears to have been washed and the bright open space really allows you to see the older buildings like the Town Hall and museum as well as the fountain and statues in all their beauty - but the modern additions do not take anything away from this. All of the restaurants in this area have something fabulous to offer too.
This is a lovely farm to visit with little ones - it’s hard to believe you’re so close to the city here. Entry fees are really reasonable and the team are friendly. They have a good variety of farm animals and petting / feeding opportunities too. There’s a play area and often they host seasonal activities and a new indoor play area is under construction too. One note is that you do have to pay for parking - the machine takes cash only but you can pay via the app but signal might be tricky to get hold of to download it
Always a fun day out - with Thomas land being accessible for little ones it is a great first theme park to explore and the height restrictions are decent so even at 90cm (about three) there’s loads to go on. Plus the zoo and additional play areas and Thomas train ride means there is a lot to do. We love visiting for seasonal events - there’s always good offers on just after Xmas
The little theatre in the Jewellery Quarter has won my heart. With a diverse calendar of performances, it stands out among the more mainstream options in the city. The affordability of tickets is a refreshing change, and the relaxed vibe makes it a unique and approachable venue.
The team's friendliness adds to the charm of the place. While it may not be an extravagant night out demanding formal attire, the thought-provoking performances ensure that you leave with moments to contemplate. This theatre has carved its niche, offering a more accessible and intimate experience for those seeking something beyond the ordinary.

I have been visiting the “duck pond” here for walks for over thirty years. It’s a lovely spot and has changed much I’ve rather years in terms of student accommodation but the idea of having such a lovely green space so close to the city centre is still fabulous. It’s one of those places which always has a nice vibe during warmer months with lots of people enjoying picnics and walks - very studenty with relaxed vibes a bit like some places in London
