If you’re looking for a meal that’s different from the usual Turkish fare, then look no further. Matbah Restaurant offers up traditional Ottoman cuisine with unusual flavour combinations that are very pleasing. Paired with a strong selection of local wines that adds to the experience. While it is somewhat on the pricier end for Istanbul without a high degree of culinary skill, the food’s homage to the Ottoman Empire and the staff’s exception service (even for Turkey) stands out. Very pleased to recommend.

Booked the Engineer room at The Engineer for our Christmas get together. Suffice to say, that it didn’t disappoint. We had the festive menu for £42.50. 3 courses with generous carvings of perfect cooked roast turkey. The vibe was absolutely festive and Angelo and his team made sure we were well looked after. Thanks guys, we’ll be back next year!
