I think the standard of food in France is just higher. Even a normal local joint can deliver amazing croissant. Service is also simple but perfect. Love it.

Kind of a mix feeling for me. This place for sure has a lot of showmanship. They definitely try to make it fun when bringing us the food and drinks. Like serving the cocktail on a model truck, serving the chicken tikka masala in a metal phone booth. Food is not bad but not sure if it’s worth the money.

What ticked me off is when we were done and we didn’t want to order more drinks, the server basically immediately took our glasses away and never again return to the table. We wanted to stay and hang out for a bit but got the feeling that we were no longer welcome because our service was over. I get that if it’s busy you would want the table back and obviously we would understand. But the place was not even half full and somehow they tried to rush us out. I guess sure??

I see some low rating reviews comparing the udon here to “instant udon cooked at home by his wife.” Well unless this person’s wife is a professional Japanese chef, I am not quite sure he understood what Japanese food is.

Overall I am happy with the food. The udon is Al denté and got a good chew. The sushi rice is very nice and not too firm. The only thing I would say can use some improvement is the unagi. It’s quite thin and the sauce is not flavourful enough. But overall happy.

Really want to support local small restaurant, so figure I would try this since it is a block away from home. First impression the place is small and cozy. 2 men in the kitchen, one lady at the counter and another lady running around waiting the tables. Understandably it’s difficult for one person to serve 7 tables. So I didn’t say much even though it took over ten minutes for our orders be taken and water be served. Unfortunately the food was underwhelming. The maki rolls were acceptable, but the tempura batter was very thick and not crispy. Some sashimi was fishy. Others had too much connecting tissue. Overall not super happy with the food.

Love visiting local joints while on holiday. Found this place by accident and happy I did. Th atmosphere was awesome and super local. Food was mostly fine though I do prefer our fries in North America. Maybe it’s the amount of salt we throw on it 🤣. Duck was a bit on the dry side, but the beef tartare was great. The gentleman was also very nice and attentive knowing that we don’t speak French. Thank you for a wonderful meal.
