Beautiful park in Friedrichshain where you can stroll around, ride your bike or go jogging. There are several places with water access as well as a large lake. In some areas of the park many people are grilling so if you want to walk with your dog, be careful about the left overs. Super green and there’s also a herb garden in the middle.
If you buy your tickets online you do not need to wait in the ticket line: currently the tickets cost 8 Euros per person. From locomotives to ships, from planes to cars, gadgets, tools, and everything about technique and technology throughout centuries. A lot of small experiments and educational arrangements for kids. I especially liked the amazing ship models. Just an hour won’t be enough to discover the whole place. Each floor is focused on something else. Absolutely recommended if you’re visiting Berlin.
Axel Springer Neubau

Compared to the surrounding, Axel Springer Neubau stands out with its dynamic design and massive construction. According to an architect friend, the huge pillars are sadly destroying the pattern of the glass structure and the entrance of the building is so vaguely placed that it’s nearly lost. What I really disliked though about the building is that the dark glasses are covered with a white pattern that looks like the whole building just got washed and the soap is dripping all over the place. Weird choice.
Waynes Coffee

We just wanted to have a coffee and grab something small to eat here. The atmosphere was ok when we first entered. Then we had to go through the ordering process. It was like meeting the Boss at the end of a level. Completely passive aggressive tone, eyes rolling everywhere, the wannabe rude Berlin service, as some people like it. Nothing extraordinary about their coffee, it even tasted a little bland. But compared to the service, it was WOW! If you hate people, don’t work in gastronomy.
8 Tapas

Suggested by a friend, 8 Tapas highly met all my
expectations. We actually made a reservation for 17:30 but the restaurants started services at 18:00 and we could easily find a table. So do check their opening hours if you’re close and try making a reservation since the place is quite popular.

We got a big mixed platter with Portuguese hams and cheese, which was huge and delicious. If you’re just up for a snack, 2 people can easily get full with this one. We ordered the Fried Squids and it was super good. Plus we got the Veggie Pork Gyozas that comes with its own sweet sour and spicy sauce, as well as the most famous Pork Cheek. The Pork Cheek was a real delight, it was easily in top 3 of the most tender meats I’ve ever eaten. Baked in oven and served with a creamy potato mash topped with caramelized onions, this dish has been unforgettable. I completely recommend this place!
