Lovely man made pond/ lake with flat walking for elderly around the pond walk is approx 1.2 km. There are pedal boats and a mysterious tree obscured 18th century castle where , we were informed , visitors are not welcome as there is a family residing there.😳Looking at the place, could be The Addams Family😱.14 mins drive from Glasgow via Rutherglen & Burnside. Good for a Quick jaunt.
A very educational visit to this lovely peacful park which commemorates those who died in the horrific Halifax harbour explosion of 1917.Two ships,The Mont Blanc and The Imo,both carrying large cargoes of explosive materials collided in the harbour the resultant explosions levelled half the city. It has been recorded as the largest man made explosion ever before the Nuclear Bomb drops in 1945. The area was so devastated that it took around 4 years for new communities to spring up on the affected land.
E.G. The Hydrostone area up behind halifax maintown. The monument houses14 bells which ring out on the hour. The park area has loads of facts and storyboards about the events of that fateful day.

The ancestral home of the Dukes of Albany. Not a large castle but well preserved in parts. There is a one way walk through with audio equipment commentary. Some of the spiral staircases are completely unsuitable for the elderly and infirm. I would suggest asking for advice from resident staff who are helpful, before purchasing tickets. It is £10 to park and enter,£8 for OAP's,a bit steep i felt for the short tour available. In recent decades the castle has become a famous film location, firstly when "Monty Python and the Holy Grail " was partially filmed there.More recently the site was taken over for the filming of the historic fictional" Outlander" still an ongoing production. Worth a visit ,by all means.
Barcelona is a city of many delights. Tibidabo hill is an amazing place for panoramic views over the whole city. This recreational area has a very old fairground, a beautiful shining white Cathedral and abundant eateries and snack bars. Plan for a whole day there to let the atmosphere soak in.
It takes some time to get there. A special underground train leaves from Placa de Catalunya from the Terminus, you can catch a bus to the hill. There is also a funicular short rail trip when you alight from the bus which takes you up to the fairground park and cathedral
An unforgettable day awaits you.

Excellent place to hide in the shade for a few hours if you need to escape the heat. It is similar to several others aquariums i have visited. There are always walk through glass tunnels where you and a menacing looking shark can come face to face. The design both exterior and interior is marvellous (see photos). Its a great place for kids, there is much educational, hands on stuff for them to get involved with and, of course, many superb colourful species for them to Marvel at along with the creepy, scary ones The Cafeteria/ Restaurant is very nice indeed. Beware though its not a cheap day out. The aquarium is within walki g distance of Buggiba bus station.
Many buses pass it by on their way to Buggiba from Malta. There is also a bus from Mdina/ rabat via Mosta yo buggiba station where you canwalk from on the seafront promenade.
