Not impressed with Scotlands budget airline. Both of my flights were delayed over an hour. No vouchers offered. The flights are not cheap and then they nickel and dime you charging an extra $25 for carry on bag that was a bit over 6 kg. Who has a carry on suitcase that weighs less than 6 kg??? That’s barely the weight of the suitcase.

Flight attendants, I just say, were lovely. As was the check in guy at Heathrow terminal 2.

Overall, take it if you must but plan for delays and surprise charges .

I had a wonderful afternoon here looking at the Diego Rivera murals so craftily displaying the history of Mexico from Pre-Colombian times. Our guide, Angelica, was one of the best guides I’ve ever had. She knew everything, answered every question with patience, kept a great pace, was lovely, intelligent, and interesting. The murals themselves are among the best works of art in the entire world, in my opinion.

This place should not be missed.

Logistically, make sure to make a reservation in advance, they only allow people in in groups of 15 on guided tours a few times a day. I got lucky and somehow got in on a cancellation on a Spanish speaking tour but the English ones were all full.

My only criticism is that they don’t allow videos at all. Not even with iPhone. I would love to go back and make some nice videos of these stunning murals to share with others who may never make it here. Maybe they can offer a video tour for a fee? I wouldn’t mind paying it.

Anyway, don’t miss this place!!!

Definitely 5 stars! Excellent (really magical) collection including some of Mexico’s greatest works and artists. In a lovely setting. Fully worth the steep (for Mexico) $7 usd entry fee. Charming and helpful information desk in English also. I have not really been to a better museum in a while in terms of breadth of scope and wondrousness of the works. The majesty of the works of all different epochs of Mexican art overcome any inconveniences, mentioned below:

The only thing they could do better would be to provide some info in English about the highlights or perhaps an English tour, even if for a fee, would be worth it. The isn’t even any info or map in Spanish, which is a bit strange. Security is a bit abnormally bossy (“walk this way, don’t stop here, etc”), could be a touch more polite, but I understand they want to keep people away from the precious artworks so some of it may be justified. On a positive note, a lot of the security staff know quite a bit about the works and show interest and pride in them.

Note: you MUST check bags at the bag check, however it’s included in the cost of the museum.

I did not notice any dining inside but you could easily spend 4-5 hours here if you like to gaze in wonder so plan ahead.
