The best cultural site in Florence.

I’ve been to San Marco multiple times, the monk’s quarters upstairs has always been shockingly beautiful. It is very rare to see so many original frescoes in situ, and even rarer to see such beautiful ones.

The whole monastery is lovely to walk around. It can get very hectic, especially if school/tour groups are present. I would suggest patiently waiting until there isn’t a group upstairs and then going.

The saltiest scrambled eggs I’ve ever eaten. Despite being described as “soft and silky” on the menu, it’s definitely on the over-cooked side. If I wasn’t so hungry, I wouldn’t have eaten it.

We were seated quickly and service was swift. The other dish we had, smoked salmon on toast, was average at best. Coffee was decent which accounts for the extra star.

I thought this place would be good due to the reviews but was left disappointed. There are better branch places that we’ve tried nearby.
