A big castle worth the visit.

Climbing up the castle's hill can be hectic with steep hills and traffic. Once you pay the admission price, which is reasonable for European castles, you'll be rewarded with scenic plazas shaded by old pines. It's a reprieve from the heat and tourist hubbub below. The inside is quite different from the outside. There's a kiosk cafe and restaurant with great views onto Lisbon. And of course the castle's walls are fully walkable, which a treat.
