My group of 3 was seated at the high table quickly around noon on a Sunday. The cafe is small, and I wish the stools had backs to hang my jacket on. I ordered the $19.50 chicken and waffles, which was delicious. The 3 chicken drumsticks were large and tender with crispy skin. The waffles were on the crispier side but still soft in the inside. I like that it came with a decent salad to balance out the dish. I also had a $5.25 matcha tea latte, which was smooth and sweet. I tried the pork belly as well, which was fatty but delicious. Would return for the chicken and waffles again if it's not too busy!
Arrived at noon on a Saturday and was told there would be a 30-40min wait. The lady at the front was awfully impatient and a bit rude, not even giving us 10 seconds to decide whether that was okay. Fortunately, we were seated quicker than expected.
We had the classic breakfast with sausage links and biscuit eggs benedict. The portion sizes were large for the price, but the food was disappointing. The biscuit of the eggs benedict was good, but the sauce was unflavourful and congealed into more of a paste than a sauce. Both the hash browns and the eggs were bland, lacking seasoning, though maybe they intended for us to add salt to our tastes. The sausages were dissatisfyingly uncrispy and rather mushy. The best parts of the meal were the beans and the toast. The pancakes we saw at other tables looked massive though.
The restaurant itself was nice. It was a bit loud but not unusual for a brunch place. The bathroom was not very clean and had toilet paper on the ground. Overall, I think it's below average and overrated compared to many other brunch places. The only redeeming quality is that it is cheaper than other options. Would not return.

Solid ice cream with some hit or miss seasonal flavours. I shared a $5 new split single, which lets you have two flavours for the price of a single, and I think it was pretty much the size of a double. The goose tracks flavour is clever and tastes prettt good, but the lemon gingerbread witch flavour tasted a bit artificial and had what were essentially sprinkles in it. Also, expect a long line that extends outside the small shop during the summer.
The $15 shrimp griller meal tastes about the same as I remember pre-covid, but a smaller portion in a smaller box. Decent food and service
Contrary to most reviews here, I have very few complaints about my experience here. I came for lunch with a friend who used to come here frequently a few years ago and recommended it. We both got a beef shawarma combo, and I enjoyed it. The fries were quite oily, but crispy and similar to Costco fries. The service was minimal but not outright bad. The interior was a little dingy though and the menu screens were heavily tinted blue.
