Disappointing Experience at Badoca Safari Park
As an enthusiastic traveler with a passion for nature, outdoor adventures, and wildlife encounters, I eagerly embraced the opportunity to visit Badoca Safari Park upon my family’s recommendation.
After a one-hour drive to the park, acquiring tickets on a weekend morning was a breeze, with a quick and efficient process. However, upon reflection after our visit, I found myself deeply disappointed, a sentiment echoed by family members who had visited the park on multiple occasions prior. Regrettably, it seems that the park has undergone a decline from its previous standards.
One glaring issue was the noticeable decrease in animal populations compared to previous visits. The once-thriving array of wildlife seemed notably diminished. Additionally, the reptile and bird shows fell far short of expectations, lacking the engaging and informative experiences we had hoped for. Even the primate section, usually a highlight of such parks, was disappointingly sparse, with only a few baboons to be seen.
It’s never my intention to offer a negative review, but I believe in fairness and honesty when sharing my experiences with readers, followers, and the establishment owners alike. I visited the Lisbon Aquarium on April 2024, and it was truly a fantastic experience. The underground parking was a great convenience, especially to escape the intense Lisbon sun. Additionally, there were plenty of restaurants nearby, making it convenient to grab a bite before or after the visit. Purchasing tickets was quick and easy.
Inside the aquarium, the variety and abundance of fish and aquatic animals were impressive. However, the only downside was the congestion and noise due to the large number of school kids on organized trips. Overall, though, it was still an enjoyable visit.

Visiting Lisbon Zoo was a delightful experience. The underground parking was convenient, making it easy to access even on busy summer days. The abundance of tree-shaded areas offered a pleasant retreat during my April visit. I highly recommend catching the amazing dolphin show near the entrance. The chimpanzees were captivating, and the Savanna animals, including the Big Five, were in excellent condition. The snakes section was also impressive.
Before and after the ticket gate, there are cafes, fast food restaurants, and WC facilities for convenience. Be prepared for a walk of around 11,000 steps if you're up for exploring everything the zoo has to offer. Remember to stay hydrated and enjoy your visit, but please refrain from feeding or disturbing the animals.
