After so many years since my last experience at Zafferano, before the “Altro”. It was great and so I had been wanting to come back. So I finally able to do so, and this time, the good sentiments are even stronger because of the pronounced distinctive taste of Italy in the dishes, the tour of rooftop bar overlooking Marina Bay and the awesome service.
The southern Italian cuisine here tells stories about the sunny coastal region of Italy. I can actually taste it in dishes, which has this lovely rustic italian tang, infused with fine, delicate savour of modern fine dining. So Italian, so delicious, so satisfying. The food here is such a delight for the palates.
The view, yes, the view from Altro Zafferano is breathtaking. The bird’s eye view of Marina Bay from level 43 is one of a kind experience. In fact, patrons can freely transverse between the main dining hall and the rooftop bar to enjoy the view every now and then. And this place is a must-visit during NDP rehearsals since seeing the fireworks from here is simply glorious. I’m already planning my subsequent visits till next year already! The interior is of modern, relaxing with a touch of class, perfect for dates, great for gatherings and personal indulgence, like in my case.
The service here is splendid, taking very good care of us patrons despite being really busy with the full house. They make the effort on check in on me to see if I want to take breaks between dishes. Also, very good recommendation made on red wine. And they have this warm personality that reflects the sunny vibe of Southern Italy.
Oscietra Caviar, Sea Urchin Ice Cream, Seaweed Waffle is so creamy and luxurious.
The Canadian Lobster is most probably one of the best lobster I ever have.
Amuse bouche of Tomato Foam with Dried Olive bits wows me over at first spoonful. It tastes simply so Italian! I immediately think of the sunny fields of tomatoes in Italy when I savour this. I love this so much.
Homemade Sourdough Bread with sweet tangy tomato sauce and olive bits is so rustic and unique. This tomato dip is a must-try because there is no other dip like this. The taste reminds me of sunny sweetness. And best of all, the bread is served piping hot. I go, “wow!” when I am plying a piece of the bread to see the steady stream of wisps of steam escaping from the bread.
House-made Tagliolini is oh-so-smooth in texture, I love it! With Alaska King Crab and Sea grape, this pasta is packed with lots of nuanced flavours. And milky brininess amazingly develops with more bites of this dish.
Risotto with Prawn Tartare immediately fills me up with this sweet feelings of happiness at first bite.
Bangalow Pork Chop is so tender and juicy, featuring a good bite and that lovely char to accentuate the meaty sweetness.
Amalfi Lemon with Pink Pepper and Limoncello Granita is refreshing, mildly tangy and creamy. And it has white chocolate in substitute of pastry base. I love it.
Thoughts: Beautiful Rustic Italian food and Beautiful Place

I'm definitely no stranger to Culina, a place of premium groceries and delicious wholesome food.
As a premium grocer, the ingredients featured in the bistro are of choice quality. The natural sweetness, umami and aroma, excellent texture of the food speak for themselves. Simply coupled with some condiments, herbs and lemon juice, the food here tastes so wholesome and satisfying. It’s lots of moments of “wow” when I have my first bites of each dish here.
High ceiling, white-washed walls, giant modern geometric hanging lamps, stylish black n white rattan chairs, shelves of wines and groceries and full length windows showing the verdant greenery outside, this place feels like a lush family restaurant located beside a vineyard. It has this hint of elegant undertone that makes great for dates. But it is also one of the best places to have family gatherings. They even have a kids’ menu!
Service here is efficient, helpful and friendly, including the staff manning the fresh produce sections. Especially the staff at the seafood section, who gives good advice on the order of jumbo prawns.
This is definitely a place I recommend to enjoy wholesome food made with choice ingredients and just have a relaxing good time.
The first bite of the Scallops in Half Shell amazes me on how creamy and briny sweet it is. This got to be the creamiest scallops I ever have and I totally love it. The taste is further perked up with exciting flavours of garlic, pistachio, herbs and lemon.
Tender juicy squid squares coated with crispy, super thin batter tastes so good on its own already. It is even better with a dash of spicy espelette pepper, a splash of tangy lemon and a dip of creamy aioli. An absolutely delightful treat.
The oysters here are so fresh and delicious. It tastes amazing with Culina’s specialty sauce and Tetsuya’s sauce.
Plump and succulent, the Jumbo Prawns features that lovely briny sweetness made exciting by the unique pungency of seared garlic cream and fermented chilli plus the tang of lemon.

After the wonderful and memorable lunch I had at Braci many years ago, I have been thinking of going back again. And the International Women’s Day Special at Braci gave me the exact motivation to push aside all my commitments, prior plans and beauty appointment to come here to enjoy these specially curated dishes, with southeast Asian influences, created by the female chefs at Braci. This is one of the best dining experiences I have.
Instead of serving pure Italian food for the special occasion, the dishes in the menu feature European cuisine with Southeast Asian influences, inspired by the chefs’ backgrounds. I totally love it. There are so many flavours packed in beautiful harmony within each dish, It is complex and spellbinding.
I opt to dien at the exciting rooftop bar with a quaint bar counter and 270 ° panoramic unblocked view of the Singapore River, the landscape of Marina Bay and skyline of the city. It is so breathtaking, and the soft breeze blowing makes it even better Yes, I feel like I’m living it up when dining here.
The service is exceptional, impeccable and friendly, completing the exceptional experience of savouring awesome food with awesome ambience and service.
Makan Makan by Chef Li Vian is a lovely trio of Tom Kha Kai, Corn Tarlet and Scallop Semifreddo. I love the transition from simulating taste of Tom Kha Kai to smokiness of Corn Tarlet, and finally to luxurious treat of Scallop Semifreddo.
Suan Ni Bai Rou by Chef Aaron is one of the best pork dish I have. With the pork belly soaked with wine, sprinkled with fried shallots, paired with umami rich Sakura Ebi Furikake and zesty cool Cucumber Snow, the medley of rich flavours is amazing.
Aglio&Olio, But I don't like Garlic is very interestingly named by its creater, Chef Yoke. Given a twist to Braci's signature 32 Egg Yolks Tagliolini with creamy sweet Bafun Uni, which is by the way the best pasta, garlic foam and hamaguri clams are added for the extra oomph in taste and crunchy texture. The Tagliolini here is a must-try.
Tropical Tart by Pastry Chef Yasmin is a delightful dessert made up of mango mousse, passion fruit and coconut sorbet. Full of nuanced flavours, it tastes refreshing and rich at the same time. I love it.
